2022 Ford F-150 Lightning Pro
Ford launched theF-150 Lightning EV last week and it mostly drew positive responses. The talking point was the sub-$40,000 price for the commercial variant, which would result in being cheaper than the standard F-150 after factoring in the federal tax credits and state incentives. The automaker had not revealed the specs for it then, but we do have them.
The company has coined this commercial trim as the F-150 Lightning Pro. As a sub-$40,000 EV, it looks alright on paper. But, look at it as a work truck – which it is – and you will be disappointed.
2022 Ford F-150 Lightning
Ford debuted the F-150 Lightning in 2021, and the electric truck checks almost all the boxes and can be considered as the first mainstream electric pickup truck for the masses. There are a lot of electric trucks launched in recent years, like the Tesla Cybertruck, the Rivian R1T, the Lordstown Endurance, the Bollinger B2, etc. But, none of them offer the all-round capability that the F-150 Lightning does.
The Ford truck comes with all the bells and whistles one can ask for, and then some more. For now, Ford has launched it in one body style and three basic trims plus an exclusive work truck model, but expect it to grow in the coming years. With all the subsidies and credits, the F-150 Lightning works out to be the cheapest full-size truck in the market today! (more on this in the ‘Pricing’ section). From the looks of it, the F-150 Lightning seems to be an all-rounder that offers good power outputs, decent range, and a lot of tech features. 2023 Ford F-150 Rattler
When you buy a truck, you also want to take it out off-roading. But with the new generation F-150, the only ones that are actually off-road-ready are the Tremor and the Raptor trim levels, which, of course, are very expensive - one is priced at $51,200 and the other one at $68,675.
Now, however, Ford announced a more affordable version. It will be called the ’Rattler’ and will be based on the XL series, with elements borrowed from the FX4 package.
2022 Shelby Ford F-150 Raptor
When Ford announced the new generation F-150 Raptor everyone expected to see at least a small power increase. Well, turns out Ford decided to offer the same engine under the hood: a 3.5-liter, twin-turbo V-6 EcoBoost with 450 horsepower and 510 pound-feet of torque. A very disappointing news for every Raptor fan out there.
Shelby however has the solution: its latest pack based on the new generation F-150 Raptor delivers no less that 525 horsepower. Still, way under the Ram 1500 TRX, but a lot better than a standard Raptor, right?
2021 Ford F-250 - Driven
The Ford F-Series can be given the tag of ‘The Truck of America’ without a doubt. The F-Series has been the best-selling range for close to five consecutive decades. Although the F-150 gets the major chunk of the volume for Ford, there are many other heavy-duty models in the range that have been ruling the respective segments. We recently laid our hands on the 2021 F-250 Super Duty Crew Cab. This Limited trim F-250 featured a four-wheel-drive system and came with the V-8 diesel mill that puts out a four-digit torque figure! Read on to know more about it.
2022 Ford Ranger Splash Package
Ford offered the "Splash" package for the first time back in the 1990s when it was offered as an update for the Ranger pickup. Then, in June, 2021, the company trademarked the name again and initial rumors said it will be used for an electric pickup. Turns out those rumors were false, as the Splash is offered once again as an update package for the 2022 Ranger.
2021 Shelby F-150
Given the growing popularity of expensive trucks, Shelby has come with an F-150 iteration of its own. It comes with changes inside and out, and also under the hood. The Shelby F-150 now makes close to 800 horses! It also comes with an upgraded suspension setup. If you are disappointed the standard F-150 Raptor didn’t come with a power boost for the 2021 model year and you don’t want to wait for the Raptor R, this will float your boat. The only catch is that it has breached into the six-digit price bracket.
2022 Ford Maverick
Ford has come up with a new compact pickup truck called the Maverick. The Maverick was leaked and spotted multiple times in the past. Ford teased in last week and gave us a glimpse of what to expect. Now, the truck is finally out. The Maverick will serve as the entry-level truck in Ford’s lineup and will slot below the Ranger. It will be offered with two different engine options, including a hybrid, with front-wheel-drive configuration as standard and an all-wheel-drive system as optional. The best part, however, is its price. The 2022 Ford Maverick is launched with a starting price of $19,995. Not bad, huh?
2021 Ford Ranger Raptor Special Edition - Is It Really That Bad Ass?
Riding high on the success of the Ranger in Europe, Ford launched a special edition of the truck based on the Ranger Raptor. Called the Ranger Raptor Special Edition (no marks for creativity there), the truck comes with aesthetic upgrades and wide tracks. It rides on the same drivetrain without any power bumps. The automaker is pushing it as a ‘badass’ edition of the truck. But, what’s so badass about it?
2021 Ford F-150 Midnite Edition by Maxlider Motors
Illinois-based Maxlider Motors is famous for creating custom Broncos. This includes proper conversions as well as restorations. The company rolls out almost 100 Bronco every year out of the factory and seems to be on the verge of expanding its horizon now. Maxlider Motors has developed a Midnite Edition for the 2021 Ford F-150. It includes new shoes, suspension upgrades, and the likes. But, surprisingly, the aftermarket company left the engine untouched. From the looks of it, the package looks swell. Care to buy it?
2021 Ford F-150 by Roush Performance
Roush Performance has come up with its version of the 2021 Ford F-150. There are aesthetic upgrades, suspension system upgrades, and some changes inside the cabin. While the package seems pretty straight-forward without any major mechanical changes, Roush has limited it to just two trims from the lineup, that too when equipped with the V-8 mill and four-wheel-drive system. Roush has priced it at a little under $18,000, which obviously excludes the cost of the donor vehicle.
2021 Ford Super Duty
While the F-150 and the F-150 Raptor saw a generation change last year, the Super Duty series will do with a modest refresh this year. Currently in its fifth generation, Ford decided to give it a second refresh, which suggests that the next-gen could still be at least a couple of years away. The 2022 Super Duty series comes with new appearance packages, new color combinations, and a few tech upgrades.

Shelby needs no introduction. The company recently took Ford F-250 Super Duty under its wings and made it an absolute off-road beast. The truck features a new, rugged off-road suspension system, custom wheels and off-road tires, and steel bumpers amongst other things. It is powered by the stock engine itself that makes more than 1,000 pound-feet of torque. There are some tweaks on the inside, too. Courtesy of all these changes, Shelby has priced the F-250 Super Baja at over $125,000. Also, it is limited to just 250 examples. Care to buy one?

Ford Ranger is a capable midsize truck with a lot of potential for off-road and performance-oriented mods. Ford has denied us the pleasure of the Ranger Raptor in the U.S. market, but it has been a boon to the aftermarket companies who are filling this vacuum with their respective iterations. The latest one to do so is Roush Performance. Roush has taken the 2021 Ranger under its wing and turned it into an off-road beast.
2021 Ford F-150 Raptor
Six months after revealing the 2021 Ford F-150, Ford finally brought in the new Raptor as well. There was a lot of mulling around Ford introducing a V-8 to rival the 2021 Ram 1500 TRX. But, Ford decided to keep the standard Raptor clear and announced a new Raptor R that will feature a V-8 and take on the cocky Ram 1500 TRX.
The 2021 model year marks the third generation of the F-150 Raptor, and Ford has come up with some significant changes. For starters, you can now have it with 37-inch tires from the factory, which was unheard of in this segment. Then there’s the new exhaust system to make it sound sweeter. But, will these changes push the price of this V-6-powered truck dangerously close to a better-accomplished, V-8-powered Ram 1500 TRX?
2021 Ford Super Duty By Roush Performance
Roush Performance is known for Ford builds and it has come up with one more; this time for the 2021 F-250 and the F-350 Super Duty trucks. The aftermarket company has worked on aspects that will make it even more capable in tough conditions, like a new exhaust system, upgraded suspension system, and new wheels and tires.

Ford revealed the 2021 F-150 a few months back and it seems like a complete package. The exterior feels fresh and the interior comes with new features like Max Recline Seats and Interior Work Surface. When it comes to the drivetrains, Ford even introduced a new hybrid mill for the 2021 model along with a power boost on some of the existing engines.
One thing missing, however, was the Raptor version of the truck. Ford is still working on it and hasn’t introduced the 2021 F-150 Raptor, but just like the Bronco and the story of the missing V-8 engine, PaxPower has swooped in to capitalize on the opportunity.
PaxPower has introduced a few packages for the 2021 model year F-150 that come with bigger tires, heavy-duty steel bumpers, and a massive power boost that makes it more powerful than the 2021 Ram 1500 TRX.

2021 Ford F-150 Venom 800 By Hennessey
Aftermarket companies are snapping at new vehicles like hungry vultures; a case in point being the Ford Bronco. Companies like PaxPower, Saleen, and Hennessey, to name a few, have already made big announcements about it without even getting the car in flesh yet. Now, Hennessey has scalped another popular product from the house of the Blue Oval – the 2021 Ford F-150. Following up on the Venom 775 treatment given to its predecessor, the 2021 iteration is being built with extra horses, better performance figures, and beefier looks. Hennessey also announced that it will be making just 100 examples of the Venom 800.
2020 Ford F-250 - Driven
The Ford F-Series has been the best-selling vehicle in the U.S. for over four decades now, and this legacy seems sufficient to introduce it. The company has a range of pickup trucks, ranging from light-duty to heavy-duty and for varied purposes. The list is exhaustive, but the bottom line is that if you need a full-size pickup truck, no matter what the budget or usage pattern, Ford has an offering for you, right from F-150 to the F-750.
While the F-150 is the best-seller of the lot and suffices for most of the needs, people looking for a little heavy-duty work tend to hop on to the next available option – the F-250. The F-250 is the entry-level model pf the Super Duty series that also includes the F-350 and F-450. This isn’t outright expensive, comes with strong specs, and fits the bill for most people looking to use it as a work truck. It is offered even with premium features on the top trim.

2021 Ford Ranger Tremor
Customers in the U.S. have been craving the Ranger Raptor since it was announced for other markets. Ford has denied giving the pleasure so far, but there is news of the Ranger Raptor finally heading Stateside when the 2022 Ranger arrives. Since that is still some time away, the Blue Oval has decided to give us a taste of what to expect by introducing the Tremor off-road package for the mid-size pickup truck. While it is no Raptor, it is a lot more capable than the existing FX4 off-road package. Ford has priced the package at $4,290, but the catch is that is won’t be available on all the trims.
