You’ll never confuse Geely for being an automaker that evokes first-name basis, but the fact remains that these guys wouldn’t be here if they didn’t know what they were doing. And if we do say so ourselves, these guys from China aren’t ones to take a backseat when it comes to their hometown auto show in Shanghai.

The Chinese automaker has released the first pictures of their new coupe sports car, the Gleagle GS-CC. Aesthetically speaking, we’re very impressed with the design of the car, especially the interior, which comes with what looks to be a sporty and aggressive design to go along with high-quality materials. Even the exterior looks good with the only exception being that drainage-looking grille that seems completely out of place not just in the Gleagle GS-CC, but in the entire auto industry for that matter.

Unfortunately, the good vibes of the car’s overall design don’t take away from the underwhelming powertrain under the car’s hood. We don’t know about the rest of you, but a car that’s as sporty looking as the GS-CC should have a more powerful engine than the 1.3-liter turbocharged four-cylinder it has under its hood. That engine only translates to about 127 horsepower, which is a disappointing number considering that it’s a car that looks more powerful than it actually is.

I love the front of this Geely Gleagle. It looks so awful but not looking ugly with it! Well, I just don’t think that its red interior touch was matched by its orange exterior body paint. Moreover, I don’t think that its engine is quite good enough for it.

Exceptional car concept and very creative indeed. The color correspondence to the exterior design. Truly, an impressive ideal car.

In my opinion, the car has a sporty look. I do like the front bonnet of the car because it is some kind of unique. However, the performance is very weak. Why did they call it a sports car if it can only offer 127 HP? Very weak!

I really don’t like its grille. I think its kind of over design and it doesn’t fit for the word "sporty". I suggest that they would create a better looking grille next time. BTW, I don’t get why this car was under in the sportscar section, Well, the figure performance is too less powerful for a sportscar.

The good is that it has an impressive interior and quite drooling! However, I wonder if this car is still a concept or already in the production. It wasn’t mentioned about the engine performance of this car. Well, I do hope that it wouldn’t be just another " Chinese product".

IMO, I don’t like the styling of this car its too bland and the engine is not that powerful.

I have a feeling about the reason behind the styling for the front of this car. I think they made that design to call it distinctive. Well, I don’t like it and the body that look so edgy.

haha. I have feeling why the front of the grille looks like that. Its strange but I think to make us a feeling that this car is unique and not sort of "china product"smiley

@Beth_logan , I will not agree with you, the grille look so hideous its inappropriate for a car. I prefer that they have used the single frame instead.

The name is really weird, sounds a lot more like Giggle to me. Good thing the car actually looks like a beauty, though they might really want to upgrade the engine.

Hey, aren’t they the guys would bought out Volvo? Hmm, pretty funny choice for a cars name, but this one actually looks good nonetheless. The front grille is really unique.
