May 20, 2020. This was the day GM was supposed to reveal the exciting new 2022 Hummer electric pickup truck. But, courtesy of the pandemic, the launch is inevitably delayed. However, GM decided to tease enthusiasts and reveal a key detail that just made the Hummer a lot more desirable.

GMC Reveals The 2021 Canyon Denali’s ’Heroic Grille’
GMC is finally getting out of Chevy’s shadow. Earlier this year, the company revealed that the brand’s mid-size pickup truck, Canyon, will receiving an AT4 trim. Now, the company has revealed that the refreshed truck’s top Denali will receive a new grille which it calls the ‘Heroic grille’ for some reason. Back in January, GM announced that the Hummer brand is making a comeback as an electric brand. A couple of weeks later, the automaker teased the reincarnated brand’s first vehicle, an electric truck, in a commercial at the 2020 Superbowl. The short ads revealed a few details about the ‘quiet revolution’ along with the reveal date – May 20, 2020. The countdown had already begun and people were already looking forward to it, but it looks like the launch is delayed. The company announced in a statement that the Hummer EV’s launch is delayed due to the ongoing pandemic. Well, that’s the latest launch to be affected by COVID-19.

The Hummer EV is still a long time away, but here’s a new bit of information. GMC has filed for a new Hummer logo with the U.S. Patents and Trademarks Office. It still spells out “HUMMER”, but the font is different and fresh.
Along with this, GMC sent a second application as well, requesting the “Hummer” brand name to various applications. There was one application filed with the Canadian Intellectual Property Office as well. Although things seem to progress with the reincarnated brand, when will the truck itself be revealed, GM?
