2020 Karma Revero GT
The Karma nameplate has a long and less-than-glittering history. First appearing as a hybrid-powered GT sedan from Fisker Automotive in the late 2000s, the original Karma only lasted for about a year before biting the dust. Fisker Automotive produced less than 2,700 examples before it went bankrupt in 2013, after which the Wanxiang Group Corporation bought up the remaining assets. Recently renamed to Karma Automotive, the company charges headlong into the premium hybrid GT segment with the Revero. The Revero first appeared in 2016 for the 2017 model year, and now it is getting a refresh with a new look, updated interior, and powertrain parts sourced from the BMW i8.

Nowadays, you’ve got electric skateboards, electric drift trikes, and even electric buggies that can take you beyond the beaten path. But none of them compare to the Scrooser.
The Rivian R1T-Based Camper Is Way Cooler Than the Pickup

Here, however, we’ll deal with the former’s latest interpretation.

Ford Announces $500 Million Investment Into Rivian to Use EV Skateboard Platform
General Motors was already in talks with Rivian, but it seems that agreement has fallen through and another American automotive giant, Ford, has secured a deal with the EV maker for use of its skateboard platform and the joint-development of a future Blue Oval EV. Ford will sink $500 million into Rivian as part of a much bigger investment in EVs, estimated at $11 billion that includes models like the all-electric Mustang-like crossover or the all-electric F-150 pickup.
Geely Just Introduced a New Electric Car Brand and the First Model - the Geometry A
On April 11, China’s highest-profile carmaker, Geely, announced the birth of a new premium electric car brand, named Geometry as well as the first model sold under the new brand, the Geometry A electric sedan.
The Geometry A, with a single electric motor that generates 161 horsepower, will be available with two battery options. The standard 51.9-kWh battery allows a maximum range of 255 miles and the long-range, 61.9-kWh battery that extends the range to 311 miles. Both models provide a powertrain rated at 120kW of power and 184 pound-feet of torque which enables an 8.8-second sprint to 62 miles per hour. It looks like a 30 minute top up is enough to take the charge level from 30 to 80 percent full. With tie-ins to Volvo within the Geely group, the Geometry is claimed to deliver class-leading safety and driver aids. The standard-range version starts at about $31,000 where the long-range version’s starting price is $34,000.
The 2020 Audi E-Tron Comes From a CO2 Neutral Production Plant in Brussels
Committed to making its facilities carbon-neutral by 2030, Audi started with the e-tron multi-structure plant that covers 540,000 square-meters and is located in Brussels, Belgium. Audi improved the body shop, paint shop, and assembly shop and added a new battery manufacturing plant.
The Brussels facility is blanketed with a 37,000-square-meter photovoltaic system. This enables the generation of more than 3,000 megawatt-hours of electricity, thus saving 700 metric tons of CO2 per year. The Brussels plant is the first in the world with certified carbon-neutral production in the premium auto segment.
Volkswagen also made an eco promise. By the end of the year the Stuttgart factory, set to start producing all-electric Porsche Taycans, will be carbon-neutral as well.
2019 Bentley Bentayga Hybrid
The 2019 Bentley Bentayga Hybrid is the electrified version of the company’s first SUV. It’s also Bentley’s first hybrid ever, as well as the world’s first luxury SUV with an electric motor. The Bentayga Hybrid joins the original 2017 Bentayga with the W-12 engine that Bentley unveiled in 2015, as well as the V-8 and diesel variants that the British firm launched since 2017.
The Bentayga Hybrid is virtually identical to the regular SUV inside and out. The exterior features an additional "fuel" cap for the plug-in socket, while the interior includes new tech and a revised infotainment system for hybrid duty. Things are notably different under the skin though, where the familiar W-12 and V-8 engines were replaced with a V-6 and an electric motor. The layout is similar to that in the Porsche Panamera E-Hybrid. Let’s find out more about this electrified SUV in the review below.
Moving towards electric cars, Volkswagen plans a 6% cut of his workforces by 2023 and 2,000 new software jobs positions.
At Volkswagen’s annual media conference in Wolfsburg, VW commented on its new strategy to cut from 5,000 up to 7,000 jobs by 2023. Through reducing such operating costs, VW aims to save 5.9 billion Euro ($6.7B). The German automaker will invest the savings in its top-selling division - which generates more than a third of the company’s total sales - in an attempt to raise the operating margin to 6%. Last year, the brand’s operating margin fell to 3.8% where Peugeot read a margin of 8.4%.
2021 Honda Jazz
Honda is testing an all-new Jazz subcompact hatchback, also known as the Fit in some markets. It’s the fourth generation for the nameplate and it looks like it will retain the wedge-nosed one-box design of its predecessors, albeit with a slightly sportier design twist.
The camouflaged prototype spotted by our spies reveals quite a lot about the car, which is slated for a reveal no earlier than 2020, since the refreshed version of the current model only came out last year. Aside from the completely new and slightly more rakish-looking body, changes will be made to its powerplant lineup and interior. The hybrid version may share its powertrain with the new Insight.
Update 04/4/2019: The 2021 Honda Jazz was caught out in the wild again and, while it hasn’t dropped a lot of camo, we can make out a few subtle differences. Check out what we know in the Spy Shots section below!
