2019 Honda Passport
Discontinued in 2002, the Honda Passport made a comeback for the 2019 model year. Introduced at the 2018 Los Angeles Auto Show, the modern Passport fills the gap between the CR-V and the Pilot.
Based on Honda’s Global Light Truck platform, the SUV shares many of its underpinnings and drivetrain components with the three-row Pilot and Ridgeline pickup trucks. It has a similar unibody construction, but it’s presented as a more rugged, off-road capable crossover. More importantly, it’s Honda’s very own design and not a rebadge Isuzu, like the old Passport. Unlike other Honda SUVs, it also benefits from a range of accessories, much like Mopar is offering for FCA vehicles. Let’s find out more about it in the review below.
2017 Honda Civic SI
The Honda Civic has always been a go-to for tuners everywhere, but more recently, the Civic hasn’t exactly been praised for its looks or design. All of that changed with the introduction of the 10th-generation model, and now we’ll be blessed not only with a new, track-ready Civic Type R, but a Civic Si in coupe and sedan form as well. Slated to launch in 2017 as a 2018 model, the Civic Si was unveiled to the world in a near-production-ready form at the 2016 Los Angeles Auto Show, which means it gives us a very good idea of what to expect when the road-going model officially debuts. As a production model, the new Civic Si will spot a 1.5-liter, direct-injected, turbocharged four-banger that utilizes dual variable valve timing and mates to a six-speed manual transmission. Performance figures are unknown at this point, but Honda says the standard engine is both “high-performance and high-torque” Furthermore, it will come with active damper and steering systems, limited-slip differential, and 19-inch wheels wrapped in high-performance tires. A factory performance aero kit that has front and rear splitters will help tie together the package that is the Civic Si.
The best part about the new Civic Si is that it maintains its own unique design compared to the standard road-going Civics and the Type R hatchback that broke the internet when it debuted. When it came to an Si model, we all kind of expected to see a lot of Type R styling in a coupe or sedan body form, but Honda did things right and gave the Si its own identity. If you like good performance and awesome looks without having to go hatchback, the Civic Si Coupe or Sedan will definitely be for you.
With that said, let’s talk about the upcoming model and what we can predict about it based on the prototype that Honda brought to the Los Angeles Auto Show.
2016 Honda Civic Coupe
It’s no secret that the Honda Civic has had a bit of a rough patch, with the past few generations not being received as well as expected in the public eye, with the ninth-gen being so bad, that the entire generational cycle lasted no more than four years. All of that changed when Honda showed up to the 2015 New York Auto Show with the 2015 Civic Coupe Concept – a model that previewed the upcoming tenth-gen coupe. By the time the 2015 Los Angeles Auto Show kicked off, Honda was ready to show the world the production version of the tenth-gen coupe and boy did it impress. To put it simply, Honda came correct with a new aggressive exterior design, a refined and beautiful looking interior, and two new engines that are borrowed from the Civic Sedan. More important, however, is the fact that the new Civic Coupe gets that 1.5-liter, turbocharged, four-banger, making this generation the first to come with forced induction straight from the factory.
The generation evolution of the Civic Coupe couldn’t come at a better time for Honda. The competition in the compact coupe segment is spread somewhat thin, but the offerings available are stronger than ever. By the time 2017 models hit showrooms, Toyota will have an all-new Toyota 86 and Subaru the BRZ (originally the FR-S prior to the discontinuation of Scion,) and Kia will have the updated Forte Koup. If you set price and horsepower aside and focus purely on aesthetics and functionality, the new Civic could even compete with more luxurious models like the BMW 2 Series or the Mercedes C-Class Coupe in their entry-level forms.
Okay, so comparing a Civic against a Bimmer of Merc might be a little bit of a reach, but we’ll talk more about that later on. For now, let’s dive in and take a look at the new Civic and everything that it brings to the table.

After a very short tease, Honda unveiled the new FCEV Concept at the Los Angeles Auto Show. The concept hints at futuristic and aerodynamic design of a next-generation fuel-cell electric vehicle set for release in 2015 in the U.S and Japan, with a European release to follow later.
As you can see the concept features an ultra-aerodynamic body and a design language that takes the current FCX one step forward. It offers interior room for five passengers and will be powered by a new powertrain.
According to Honda, when the production version will arrive in 2015, it will be the first vehicle in the world to feature a fuel-cell powertrain packaged completely in the engine room of the vehicle. This new powertrain will deliver a 60% increase in power density - up to 3kW/L and will ensure a driving range of more than 300 miles of with a quick refueling time of about three minutes.

The 2013 Honda Civic Coupe made its world debut at the 2012 Los Angeles Auto Show. Sporting significant changes to the exterior and interior, the Civic Coupe aims to impress the younger buyers that are seeking an exciting 2-door coupe on a budget.
"Our industry has never been more competitive or fast changing, and a significant refresh of Civic, America’s best-selling compact car, just one model year after its debut as an all-new model shows true speed to market," said John Mendel, American Honda executive vice president of Sales. "Our corporate direction is to provide our customers with great products with speed, affordability and low CO2 emissions. There is no better example of this direction than today’s introduction of the 2013 Honda Civic."
With strong words like those, Honda is obviously adamant on continuing Civic ‘s success in the U.S. market. For the success of any vehicle, the design, powertrain and the price must impress buyers – lip service just won’t do. Does the Honda Civic Coupe impress us?

Just like with the recently announced Honda Accord, the ninth generation Civic also received its first update and changes include a completely revised front and rear exterior styling, improved interior, while the 1.8-liter 16-valve four-cylinder engine remains unchanged. The model made its world debut today at the 2012 Los Angeles Auto Show and will be put on sale on November 29 at a stating price of $18,165.
On the exterior the 2013 Civic has received a more youthful and premium styling with an an all-new hood, updated grille, a new rear bumper design and new rear trunk lid. The interior has also being revised with soft-top materials and new technologies, while the list of safety features is being more impressive than ever and will include as a first in the compact segment standard Forward Collision Warning (FCW) and Lane Departure Warning (LDW) systems.
While under the hood the engine remains unchanged, Honda has added a new high fuel efficiency "HF" version that delivers an impressive fuel economy of 41 mpg on the highway.

Honda’s story for their concept vehicle, the IH (Intelligent Horse), takes us to futuristic world of the wild, wild west. We swear they make some sense out of this eventually.
The setting is hundreds of years into the future in a world that has been disrupted by the impact of a gigantic comet. After the impact of Armageddon, the remaining survivors needed a vehicle that will not only serve as their companion, but also as their protector in an inhospitable environment.
Drawing from history, they created a vehicle that was inspired from a now mythical creature - the horse. Take note that this is a future setting so we don’t sound ridiculous describing a horse as ’mythical.’
The Honda IH is a concept vehicle thatacts as a life-saver in a comet-ravaged world. Through the advent of technology, the IH uses three critical elements of the future: local production, artificial intelligence, and additive technology. The car is characterized as efficient, lightweight, and strong, and offers plenty of both A.I. technology and nanotechnology. It also carries additive technology, which is being described as a "revolutionary attempt to produce very small or especially very large parts in a more efficient way to save weight and resources while improving the strength and flexibility of the product."
The 2012 Honda CR-V has already been seen, more or less, with the official unveiling of the Honda CR-V Concept, so the car unveiled today at the Los Angeles Auto Show brings no surprise for us. For 2012, major enhancements include improved car-like interior comfort, a smoother and quieter ride, and more innovative features.
Th exterior design of the CR-V is a bit more aggressive than the previous model illustrating Honda’s attempt to appeal to a higher end market. Also, the list of standard equipments has been increased quite significantly, while the interior gets new comfort features, convenient integration with personal technology, versatile cargo storage and high-quality materials. Customers will receive Multi-Information Display (i-MID), Pandora internet radio interface, SMS text messaging function, and available DVD Rear Entertainment System and FM Traffic.
Under the hood Honda has placed a 2.4-liter i-VTEC 4-cylinder engine with 185 horsepower and 163 lb-ft. of torque mated to a standard 5-speed automatic transmission.
UPDATE12/16/2011: Honda has unveiled pricing for the new CR-V, set to debut in U.S. dealers nationwide today. The CR-V prices will range from $22,295 for the CR-V LX 2WD to $28,295 for the luxurious CR-V EX-L AW.

Honda has unveiled the Fit EV Concept at the Los Angeles Auto Show. The concept features an all-new plug-in hybrid platform that will be used in Honda’s next-generation, two-motor hybrid technology set to debut in 2012.
The new Fit EV concept is powered by a high-density motor that combines a lithium-ion battery and coaxial electric motor, derived from the FCX Clarity fuel cell electric vehicle. This powertrain uses an innovative 3-mode electric drive system which allows the driver to select between Econ, Normal, and Sport to instantly and seamlessly change the driving experience to maximize efficiency or improve acceleration.
The new Honda Fit EV provides an autonomy of 100 miles when fully charged. Battery recharging can be accomplished in less than 12 hours when using a conventional 120-volt outlet, and less than six hours when using a 240-volt outlet.
The EV version is distinguished by unique LED headlights, a chrome front fascia, aerodynamic bumper, clear LED taillights and EV decals. And of course an exclusive Deep Clear Blue Pearl exterior color.

The LA Design Challenge is one of the most eagerly anticipated events of the LA Auto Show pitting different auto brands building their concept vehicles based on the set criteria for the event. This year’s theme focuses on society’s shift towards minimizing their dependence on natural resources by building a light-weight vehicle that focuses on efficiency without sacrificing the style of the vehicle.
Honda’s entry for the 2010 Design Challenge is the Air concept, a lightweight vehicle that uses alternative fuel, all while boasting an aggressive look inspired by, oddly enough, roller coasters and skydiving wing suits. So, we guess that’s why it’s called the Air concept.
In any case, the Air uses a compressed air and pneumatic regulator system that uses turbo vacuums and external air-flow to regenerate the tank’s pressure system, ensuring that the vehicle has extended range and increased boost to last an estimated 100 miles. Anytime you need to have your tanks and reserves refilled efficiently, a Honda generator and air compressor does the trick, either from the comforts of your own home or at a local station.
For safety, the Air concept uses vegetable-based polymer panels and fairings to ensure the safety and protection of its occupants.
The whole body of the Air concept resembles the look of a modern rollercoaster designed to optimize the open-air experience. Then there’s the chassis, which has a variety of purposes to eliminate the structure’s redundancy and reduce the vehicle’s overall weight, ensuring that it doesn’t exceed 1,000 lbs. Other weight-saving procedures done to the Air include the use of a hub-less wheel and drive system instead of the standard drive train system, glass reinforced seating panels, urethane tire composition, and skeletal sub-frame components, all of which contributed to the Air shedding off a significant amount of weight, rounding off to just about 800 lbs.

Honda’s latest concept car offering made its cracking debut at the 2009 LA Auto Show and from the looks of things; it’s everything we thought it would be, for better or for worse. Called the Honda Personal-Neo Urban Transport – P-NUT for short – the new concept is Honda’s entry to the micro coupe market. Although concept cars generally are a hit-or-miss upon first glance, the P-NUT’s aesthetic appearance falls on the latter. We’re quite not sure how to explain it, except that it looks like some sort of gigantic flat iron, which, if you’re keeping track, isn’t a good thing.
We’ve seen some pretty crazy concept vehicles over the years and the P-NUT surely ranks among one of the weirdest we’ve seen in a while. For starters, the car has no side mirrors, which isn’t all too surprising given that this is a concept. In place of the missing mirrors – at least we think so – is a back-up camera. We’re also still waiting for an explanation as to where the headlights are – of course, it’s in the front but we find it hard to believe that those two slits are the actual headlights.

Honda unveiled at the Los Angeles Auto Show today the FC Sport design study model, a hydrogen-powered, three-seat sports car concept. It basically takes the technology from the FCX Clarity sedan and stuffs into a "hey, look at me" coupe.
Although it is known that Honda has been working on hydrogen cars, the FC Sport was a true surprise in LA. Honda seems to be having some fun with this water-maker because it’s using a lightweight body, a low center of gravity, and an electric motor that Honda described as "powerful". Honda sees this as a design study concept is inspired by supercar levels of performance through low weight and a high-performance, electrically driven fuel cell powertrain. Very green, very cool.
The FC Sport is configured to accommodate a custom-formed high-power fuel cell stack, located between the rear seats, and a battery pack placed low in the middle of the vehicle. The electric motor resides just forward of the rear axle. Two fuel storage tanks, visible from above, are located above the rear axle.
The design could be a good one. The front is very cat-like and the profile is similar to the original NSX. Unfortunately the back end look like it’s hunting for truffles.

The FCX Clarity is a next-generation, zero-emissions, hydrogen-powered fuel cell vehicle based on the entirely-new Honda V Flow fuel cell platform, and powered by the highly compact, efficient and powerful Honda V Flow fuel cell stack. Featuring tremendous improvements to driving range, power, weight and efficiency - and boasting a low-slung, dynamic and sophisticated appearance, previously unachievable in a fuel cell vehicle - the FCX Clarity marks the significant progress Honda continues to make in advancing the real-world performance and appeal of the hydrogen-powered fuel cell car.
The Honda REMIX small sport concept vehicle made its world debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show, American Honda Motor Co., Inc., announced today. The REMIX explores the shape and design of a two-seat sports car focused on agile and fun-to-drive performance that can also provide exceptional practicality as a daily driver.
