2022 Honda Accord Hybrid

2022 Honda Accord Hybrid

If cheap and efficient drives are what you care for, then the Accord Hybrid might just sweep you off your feet

Practical mid-size sedans are pretty popular in the country, and the Accord has been here for generations, retaining what a good all-rounder sedan can do better than an average compact crossover. Now that its latest iteration stands four years from its introduction, Honda is trying to improve its budget sedan by offering a bit more each year so that you won’t complain about its aging design. The Accord Hybrid is an impressive car in its segment, and it goes up against the likes of the Toyota Camry Hybrid and the Hyundai Sonata Hybrid. Let us remind you that neither of the two competitors of the Accord Hybrid are weak. But, more on that later. The Accord Hybrid is powered by a 2.0-liter engine which is mated to dual self-charging electric motors, and when combined, the power output is 212 horsepower. It is a powerful alternative, of course, but it is efficient too. So, you might be thinking the Accord Hybrid is done for the day, right? Absolutely not. It offers great ride quality, has loads of driver assistance features by default, a spacious cabin, and a lot more, for the asking price of $27,320. So, should you buy the 2022 Honda Accord Hybrid? It is a yes from us, but read the review for a more vivid picture of this attractive budget hybrid sedan.

2022 Honda Accord

The Accord is Honda’s answer to the Camry in ways that might make you consider it, plus it is well equipped for $26,120.

After the heavy set of upgrades that came with the 2021 model year, the 2022 Accord remains just as exciting as it was. Being a paradigm of the mid-size sedan market, Honda has been reliable and faithful to its consumers and the 10th-generation Accord proves it, but even with a facelift in 2021, the Accord is now four years old, so is it worth buying today or should you hold out for the 11th-gen model?

This 900HP AWD Honda Is Just Insane

Yet another piece of proof that an old Honda Civic is a great platform to build upon

About three years ago, the most heavily-modified Honda Civics in the US gathered on a runway and had a drag race. Two of the cars pushed well-over 1,000 horsepower, but the winner was a relatively stock-looking EG hatchback, with 900 horsepower and all-wheel-drive conversion. Needless to say, the car proved a point – power is nothing without control. Fast-forward three years and AWD high-horsepower Civic builds are starting to become more mainstream. The YouTube channel “That Racing Channel” (TRC) stumbled upon one of them.

2021 Honda Civic Sedan

A bold move from Honda

Honda is known for many things. Having great racing history, making engines for land, sea, and air, as well as their reliable, economical, and cleverly-designed vehicles, like the Civic. One thing they are not associated with is sedans.

Even though they have given us fun sporty sedans, as well as comfortable luxury sedans, they don’t seem to be a part of their definitive portfolio. The new Civic is offered in both hatchback and sedan forms, and hatchbacks are generally known to be more practical, although that’s only partially true. This begs the question, does the Civic sedan have what it takes to survive the hatchback and crossover fever?

Honda Just Gave the Ridgeline Pickup a Fighting Chance, But Is It Enough to Make It Relevant?

The refreshed truck is tweaked on the inside and outside, and comes with new optional packages

Honda Ridgeline is often left out when talking about trucks, but this stalwart has been around for over 15 years now. It isn’t built on a body-on-frame chassis as its rivals. However, if you’re looking for a truck that works as a good family hauler and doesn’t have a traditional truck appeal, the Ridgeline will fit your bill.

The company has now refreshed the truck for the 2021 model year, and it comes with a few changes on the outside, a refreshed interior, and a few appearance packages offered as optional gear. Things under the hood, however, remain the same. Will these cosmetic changes interest the potential compact truck customers?

Honda Reportedly Closing Down Swindon, UK plant by 2022

Honda Reportedly Closing Down Swindon, UK plant by 2022

That’s where Honda makes the (now global) Civic

Honda established its Swindon, UK plant back in 1985 and it functioned pretty well until the late 2000s credit crunch when the manufacturer closed about half of it. Before the financial crisis that really made its presence felt in 2008, Honda was making the Civic, CR-V, and Jazz in Swindon, but after the restructuring job, it only kept Civic production going at the site - now it looks like it plans on closing the facility for good, in 2021 or 2022.

2020 VW Jetta GLI vs 2019 Honda Civic Si Sedan

2020 VW Jetta GLI vs 2019 Honda Civic Si Sedan

Clash of the hot compact sedans

Volkswagen has finally given its Jetta sedan for North America the power, exclusivity, and extra sporting edge that some enthusiasts felt were missing from the package. The new 2020 Jetta GLI has addressed all those concerns and is now a model with enough brawn and sophistication to go head to head with all the sporty sedans in its size and price brackets. If you’re into fast driving, then you will be happy to note the new Jetta GLI gets the exact same engine as the (Golf) GTI, a standard limited-slip differential, and a snappy six-speed stick shift.

One of the new Jetta GLI’s main rivals is the2019 Honda Civic Si sedan, a very hard contender indeed. The Civic Si has a smaller displacement engine than the Jetta GLI, and has less power, but it is also quite a light car, one renowned for its excellent handling and road manners. It also looks somewhat sportier than the Jetta too, especially if you see its trunk lid-mounted wing, the center exhaust, and the aggressive overall design and stance.

If this were purely a visual comparison to discover which car looked more aggressive, that distinction would automatically go to the Civic Si. But it’s not all about the visuals, especially since the Jetta is more powerful than the Civic and it also has a more sophisticated independent rear suspension that VW doesn’t offer on any other Jetta model.

What’s Honda’s new sub-Pilot crossover like on and off the road?

Honda unveiled the 2019 Passport as a model specifically designed for those who want a crossover that slots in size between the CR-V and Pilot. There is a bit more to it than that, though, since it is supposed to be better off-road than both of them and, as such, it also reflects this extra ruggedness in the way it looks.

16 Little Known Facts About The 2020 Honda Passport

16 Little Known Facts About The 2020 Honda Passport

2020 Honda Passport Is Absolutely Perfectly Suited For Young Families

Reinventing the light off-road formula previously imagined with the use of the rebadged Isuzu Rodeo, Honda introduced the 2020 Passport. It is a unibody SUV based on top of the same architecture that underpins the Honda Pilot and the Honda Ridgeline. Yet, this isn’t a pickup or a seven-seat SUV. In fact, it is slightly more adventurous and a bit more luxurious compared to the CR-V, but a tiny bit smaller than the Pilot. And I like it. A lot. Despite the fact that it’s no longer a body-on-frame SUV

In shaping the new, classy Honda Passport, the Japanese wanted to position it precisely with the rest of the five-seat SUVs that tend to habituate in the higher echelon of the SUV segment. This is almost an SUV that competes with the likes of the new Ford Edge, the new Grand Cherokee, or the Hyundai Santa Fe. None of these are cheap, and Honda most certainly looks to play in the same ballpark.

In an effort to produce an SUV comparable with the ones I mentioned, Honda gave serious thought to it. Yes, it is just a rescaled Pilot, but I compiled a list of facts that prove that the new 2020 Honda Passport is a unique and quite appealing five-seat SUV.

2019 Honda Passport

The nameplate returns after 16 years

Discontinued in 2002, the Honda Passport made a comeback for the 2019 model year. Introduced at the 2018 Los Angeles Auto Show, the modern Passport fills the gap between the CR-V and the Pilot.

Based on Honda’s Global Light Truck platform, the SUV shares many of its underpinnings and drivetrain components with the three-row Pilot and Ridgeline pickup trucks. It has a similar unibody construction, but it’s presented as a more rugged, off-road capable crossover. More importantly, it’s Honda’s very own design and not a rebadge Isuzu, like the old Passport. Unlike other Honda SUVs, it also benefits from a range of accessories, much like Mopar is offering for FCA vehicles. Let’s find out more about it in the review below.
