Hummer’s days as America’s monster machine may be numbered, but it doesn’t mean that people will stop tinkering with it. After all, it is one of those rare vehicles that seems to have grown quite a cult following in the US.
So what if the Hummer is a brand with no future? The truth is, cars like the H2 will always be an image of masculinity, a car that will always be given special attention. So, while GM has in fact announced that Hummer is effectively on its death bed, CFC company has nonetheless revealed a very cool tuning kit for the H2.
As part of CFC’s kit, the Hummer’s bonnet is covered in a black carbon film while the side and rear windows are draped with CutLine ThermoTec. There are also 28" TunerShop light-alloy and LSD wing doors.
As for the interior, CFC has decided to make this particular H2 into some kind of home entertainment center, complete with 17 - yes, 17! - Axion displays, a DVD-player, XETEC amplifiers, XETEC subwoofers and digital television.
Talk about rolling in style.

It’s true that the future of the large American symbol of excess is uncertain, but that doesn’t keep automotive enthusiasts from making into the truly cool car that it can be. However where the YAAS EDITION was built for a king with gold and fine leather, this GeigerCars Hummer H2 is more suited for a pimp with its two tone crème paint scheme, 30 inch chrome dinner plates and purple headliner.
For starters the Geiger H2 is painted Latte Macciatto, it begins with a noble brown base and then a few elements are covered with a very interesting crème-beige. The H2 rides on a set of extremely oversized wheels that measure 30 inches in diameter. Inside are a set of high performance Brembo brake set up consisting of huge 380 mm cross drilled rotors and a set of 4 piston calipers up front and 2 piston units out back.
Like all of Geirger’s creations, the engine has been supercharged and now delivers a maximum output of 547 HP and 563 lb-ft of torque from the blown V8. This translates into a 0 to 60 MPH sprint that will take less than 7 seconds and allows the pimptastic brick to hit a top speed of 141 MPH.

Sometimes, having too much money can harm people’s mind and desires, what can be a total kitsch for us can be a luxury for them. It is the case of an arabian from Dubai who recently got rich and and decided that if Bentley wouldn’t make a SUV line than he can invent one just for himself.
He could have chosen for a Range Rover, a Q7 or a VW Touareg V10 TDI but he wanted to invent his own SUV and so he embodied a Bentley in a Hummer. It looks really bad and hurts the eyes when looking at it, it is of totally bad taste but this is the result of too much money and no sense for beautiful.
Renault reveals its Sherpa in two new versions. The Sherpa concept, claimed as the French equivalent of the American Hummer, was developed as a light 4x4 military truck dedicated to projection and intervention units. The new versions aim to achieve popularity also through the civilian market where the Hummer is pretty famous.
The Sherpa 2 provides in one version 4 seats for passengers, offering a payload of 2 to 3 tons and the Sherpa 3 is a two-seater pick-up featuring 10’ flat bed supporting a total payload of 4.1 tons. Both models get a Euro 4 turbocharged 4-cylinder diesel engine capable of 215 HP at 2,300rmp. The truck can reach a top speed of 120 km/h on a flat road surface while its autonomy at a cruising speed of 70 km/h is 900km.
Gas prices are getting bigger, dollar is getting wicker. But this you already knew. And that the auto makers have big problems because of this two issues is not a secret anymore. With such a background big cars like SUVs or pick-ups seems to have no future.
And maybe is true! GM announced they will focus on building small cars and close four truck and SUV plants.
"Our greatest concern is the unprecedented rise in oil prices," said GM Chairman and CEO Rick Wagoner, speaking before the automaker’s annual meeting in Delaware. "We believe it is, by and large, permanent. We view the near term environment ... with considerable caution.
GM will phase out production at four SUV and truck assembly plants: Oshawa, Ontario, in 2009; Moraine, Ohio, in 2010 or sooner; Janesville, Wis., by the end of 2009 and Toluca, Mexico, by the end of this year.
And while customers ask more and more for sedans such as the redesigned Malibu and crossovers such as the Buick Enclave, there;s no point for huge cars like HUMMER. Wagoner announced that GM is considering the possible sale of its Hummer brand.
For the future Wagoner announced the all-new next generation Chevrolet compact car program. It will be better-equipped, fuel efficient and produced at GM’s Lordstown plant in starting in 2010. Also in 2010 GM will unveil the replacement for the subcompact Chevy Aveo and a new engine module to be produced in Flint.
