Hyundai Genesis AR550 By ARK Performance in detail

It’s not as out-of-this-world as Blood Type Racing’s Genesis Coupe, but the Genesis AR550 does have its fair share of exterior and interior modifications. Ark Performance enlisted the help of Infinite Auto Design to build a comprehensive aerodynamic package for the Genesis AR550, using a generous amount of carbon fiber on the car, specifically on the front bumper, the rear bumper, and the side skirts.

Wide-body front and rear fenders were also installed, as well as a new rear trunk decklid, new welcome lighting, and improved front lighting featuring Crystal Project headlights.

The only notable interior changes are the custom diamond-stitched seats and panels courtesy of Katzkin.

The biggest changes ARK Performance made for this program are the engine modifications the to the Genesis’ 5.0-liter V-8 engine. For starters, a new Rotrex supercharger was installed. ARK also upgraded the car’s engine management system while also installing a bevy of its own components, including a performance intake system, a carbon engine cover, a high-flow catted test pipe, and a GRiP exhaust system. All together, ARK Performance was able to increase the output of the Genesis’ 5.0-liter V-8 engine from 420 horsepower to 550 horsepower.

Rounding out the functional upgrades are chassis and suspension setups. In this particular case, ARK Performance mainly used its in-house components, including a front strut reinforced bar, stiffer sway bars front and rear, and new knuckles and control arms. It also use an Airrex premium air suspension system to give the Genesis a sturdier and driving presence.

Finally, ARK installed a new set of its lightweight forged wheels wrapped in Nitto NT05 Summer tires to go with a Brembo big brake kit.
