2019 Hyundai Vision T Plug-In Hybrid Concept
The 2019 Hyundai Vision T Plug-In concept is an SUV concept that the Korean automaker introduced at the 2019 Los Angeles Auto Show. A somewhat futuristic design with unique styling cues, the Vision T showcases a brand-new design language. It’s also described as global, so it could inspire a new lineup of SUVs. The crossover is slightly larger than the Hyundai Tucson and it’s a plug-in hybrid. Sadly, there’s no info about the drivetrain and no photos of the Vision T’s interior. But let’s find out what it could mean for the future of the Korean brand.
2020 Hyundai Palisade
The Hyundai Palisade is the new flagship of the range, so it needs to be very good. It has a distinctive face that sets it apart from other Hyundai models and clearly can’t be mistaken for another brand. However, it’s not its striking fascia put on an otherwise familiar big SUV shape that’s important here, but the amount of room inside and how pleasant it is to travel in.
With seating for up to eight people, the Palisade offers one more than some competitors, and if you fold down all of its seats, you can get a pretty van-like loading bay. It also looks and feels well appointed inside, with no dramatic design touches - It’s just clear, functional, and minimalist.
It needs to face tough adversaries that have several generations of models behind them and, with it being a completely new nameplate, it may struggle a bit. Its exterior appearance blends a funky face with a more traditional overall aesthetic, but the interior may feel reminiscent to what you may see in a high-end German brand like Mercedes, Audi, or BMW, and its rivals will struggle to match the same feel inside their cabins.

2016 Hyundai Autonomous Ioniq Concept
The Hyundai Ioniq was unveiled to the public in early 2016, after a couple of years of speculation and spy shots of camouflaged test cars. Developed to compete against the popular Toyota Prius, the Ioniq sports a modern design that combines the company’s latest styling language with a few unique design features of its own. Available in both hybrid and plug-in hybrid versions at launch, the Ioniq also got an all-electric variant in 2017. At the 2016 Los Angeles Auto Show, Hyundai confirmed that the EV will also get an autonomous system and showcased a concept car featuring the new technology. Essentially identical to the hybrid inside and out, the Autonomous Ioniq is one of the few self-driving cars in development to have a hidden LiDAR system in its front bumper instead of on the roof and Hyundai says that its goal is to keep the self-driving systems as simple as possible. This will be accomplished by using the Ioniq’s Smart Cruise Control radar, along with its Lane Keep Assist cameras and integrating them with LiDAR technology.
Hyundai also announced that it’s developing its own autonomous vehicle operating system, which will result in a low-cost platform that can be installed in future Hyundai models that should be more affordable. A display-only model in L.A., the Autonomous Ioniq was further showcased at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in January 2017, where two cars were "driven" on the streets of Las Vegas. There’s no specific timetable as to when the production car will arrive, but Hyundai is already testing three autonomous Ioniqs and two autonomous Tucson Fuel Cell SUVs at its research and development center in Namyang, South Korea. Early 2018 sounds like a reasonable launch date.

2017 Hyundai Elantra
Hyundai has introduced the sixth-generation Elantra for the 2017 model year, bringing with it an all-new exterior design, and a driver-oriented cabin that is more in-line with the Sonata. On the outside, the car got a new hexagonal grille that takes up a majority of the front fascia. On the front corners, there are recesses in the bumper that house LED fog lamps. These recesses look similar to the fog lamp units on the previous generation. Overall, the exterior is more refined than before with less of that “fluidic” design. Even the taillights are less aggressive that the last-gen model. Inside, the instrument cluster gets a 4.2-inch color display between the two primary gauges, and upper trim levels come standard with leather upholstery. A seven-inch touch screen display is standard equipment, but an eight-inch screen is available on some models. Under the hood, Hyundai gave the Elantra two new engines – a 2.0-liter with 147 horsepower and a 1.4-liter with 128 horsepower.
The Elantra may seem like it is a little underpowered in a world where smaller vehicles often come with closer to 200 horsepower, but what it is lacking it power is made up with comfort, and economy. Competing against models like the Honda Civic and Chevy Cruze, economy and comfort are huge selling points, so the lack of power isn’t all the big of a deal anyway. More than just being one of the biggest automakers in the world these days, Hyundai is also pretty adept at preparing for the apocalypse. Whereas other companies aren’t as involved when it comes to gearing up for the day zombies roam this planet, the Korean automaker has been doing the opposite for the past few years.
Hyundai has already released a handful of zombie-prepared vehicles in the past and at the 2013 Los Angeles Auto Show, it introduced its latest survival vehicle. It’s called the Hyundai Tucson Walking Dead Edition, and as the name clearly says, this special edition SUV is based on the hit AMC show.
For its color, Hyundai opted to use an Ash Black shade for the exterior with matching red accents and some dedicated graphics, including four unique decals featuring factions - Hilltop, Kingdom, Saviors and Survivors - from the graphic novel-inspired show.
Inside, the special edition Tucson receives black leather seats, custom floor mats, and a seven-inch touchscreen display with a special The Walking Dead splash screen. A "Zombie Survival Kit" is also part of the package, which has a host of cool items, like a survivalist backpack and a Walking Dead Tucson Quick Reference Guide.

Hyundai has announced a set of upgrades for the 2014 Hyundai Veloster. Overall, the Veloster retains its shape with that gaping front grille and the oddball rear profile, but the big news is the addition of a Veloster Turbo R-Spec for next year.
This announcement was made during the on-going 2013 LA Auto Show. Hyundai claims, the "convention-shattering" Veloster adds convenience, performance and safety, making it more desirable than before. Well, its unconventional hatchback design never really struck a chord with our visual senses, but that’s just our opinion.
Since the Veloster Turbo’s release, we’ve wondered if Hyundai would take advantage of the fast-growing hot-hatchback market in the U.S. and reveal a hotter variant. With the new R-Spec model, Hyundai did just that and then some, but the Korean automaker did not reveal all of its specs just yet.

Designed with urban Californians in mind, the Hyundai Veloster C3 Roll Top concept was unveiled during a press conference at the Los Angeles Auto Show, today. SoCal is certainly a fitting place to unveil the C3, given its residents can make great use of its key feature.
For those who don’t know what the Hyundai Veloster is, it’s basically a stretched hatchback that borrows inspiration from some of the sleekest coupes on the market. The car mainly targets younger buyers looking for a 3-door car with a 2-door look and a design that sets itself apart from the rest. It’s for people who would want the power and urban feel of a Mini Cooper S but in a less costly, Korean-built package.
The Veloster C3 aims to combine open-air freedom with the style of a coupe and the functionality of a hatchback. Hyundai claims that it rolls the best of both worlds into one amazing package. Let’s find out how “amazing” this package is.
Hyundai has unveiled the second generation Azera at the 2011 Los Angeles Auto Show. This is the fifth vehicle to adopt the company’s signature Fluidic Sculpture design language next to the Tucson, Accent, Elantra, and Sonata models. The Hyundai Azera will go on sale in February 2012.
The new Fluidic Sculpture design language the Azera has adopted allows the luxury sedan to be longer, lighter, and lower. With these changes, the model will offer more than 45 inches of legroom and 40 inches of headroom for front-seat passengers.
Under the hood, the new Azera will offer a new 3.3-liter V6 engine with direct injection that will deliver 293 HP and 255 lb-ft of torque. The engine is mated to Hyundai’s six-speed automatic transmission and will deliver a fuel economy of 20 mpg in the city and 29 mpg on the highway.

UPDATE 02/15/12: Hyundai has officially released the official price for the 2012 Azera that is now officially on sale. Prices will start from $32,000 for the extraordinarily well-equipped Azera and $36,000 for the range-topping Azera with Technology Package.
From the minds of Hyundai Design North America, their official entry to the LA Auto Show Design Challenge features prominently in the action thriller “Countess of Siberia.”
As a vampire, Countess Elena has been walking the streets of the world since 1829. Armed with super-human senses and the ability to be a night-traveler, Elena was recruited to be a member of the Soviet spy network in World War II.
Since then, the Elena has undertaken a mission of protecting freedom and justice in the world while also curtailing the hazards of communism. To aid her in the constant quest for justice, Elena uses two vehicles at her disposal: the Hyundai Stratus Sprinter and the DB Atlant Airship. Just like her, the two vehicles offer plenty of unique features that make them a trustworthy companion for the crime-fighting vampire. The Stratus, for one, is capable of light combat and is armed and ready to tussle on just about any road surface it runs on. Meanwhile, the Atlanta Airship goes where the Status is ill-equipped to travel. It remains hidden in the sky to avoid detection and is used whenever Countess Elena needs to travel through waters to save some poor soul from the clutches of tyranny and oppression.
Hyundai unveiled the sixth-generation Sonata midsize sedan at the 2009 Los Angeles Auto Show. The car is on sale in three different trim levels: GLS, Limited and SE with the 198 hp version has a starting price of $19,195 for the well-equipped GLS model; the 200-hp SE model starts at $22,595 and the top-of-the-line Limited model is available for $25,295.
The 2011 Sonata will be the first model to be powered by Hyundai’s new Theta II GDI 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine with a Gasoline Direct-Injection (GDI) fuel delivery system. The engine is rated at 198 hp (200 hp in the SE version) and 184 lb.-ft. of torque and is mated to a six-speed automatic transmission with SHIFTRONIC. A second engine will be added next year, a 2.0-liter Theta II turbocharged GDI four-cylinder engine. A 2.4-liter Hybrid Blue Drive version will also be available.
The exterior of the all-new Sonata is long, light and low. The high beltline allows for a long, sleek roofline accented by the third window. A monoform side profile includes flowing lines highlighted by a Hyundai signature chrome accent that spans the length of the car. Normally, this type of trim is only found around the windows. On the new Sonata, this trim extends out from the headlamps, juts up along the hood and through the beltline. The face is bold with a large powerful chrome grille and headlamps that integrate precise details. The stance is completed by 16-, 17- or 18-inch multi-spoke wheels. XM Satellite Radio™, real-time XM NavTraffic, XM Data Services, HD Radio Technology™, Bluetooth®, Touch-screen navigation and iPod®/USB inputs will be offered as standard equipment.

At the 2009 Los Angeles Motor Show Hyundai unveiled a facelift version of the Tucson SUV, a model that will compete with entry level SUVs like the Honda CR-V, Toyota RAV-4 and Subaru Forester. The 2010 Tucson will be powered by the same Theta II GDI 2.4 Liter DOHC inline four cylinder engine that will be found under the hood of the 2011 Hyundai Sonata delivering a maximum output of 176 HP, 26% more than its predecessor, and 168 lb-ft of torque. The engine will be mated to either a six speed automatic with SHIFTRONIC manual control or a standard six speed manual transmission.
Following in line with Hyundai’s Fluidic Sculpture design philosophy, the new Tuscon demonstrates athleticism and sophistication through its flowing lines, full bodied surfaces and muscular profile. Along with the overall appearance, the new Tuscon features details like Hyundai’s new hexagonal front grill and swept back headlights complimented by a sleek greenhouse and wraparound taillights while chrome accents in the grill and door handles gives an added level of sophistication to the top of the line Tucson Limited. The Tuscon will range from $18,995 for a well equipped GLS six speed manually shifted model and go all the way up to $24,345 for a top of the line Limited model.

Hyundai unveiled its highly anticipated Concept Genesis Coupe during a press conference at the Los Angeles International Auto Show today. The concept car heralds the introduction of an all-new, rear-wheel drive 2 + 2 sports coupe scheduled to join the Hyundai lineup in the spring of 2009. Following the introduction earlier this year of the Concept Genesis sedan, Concept Genesis Coupe signals Hyundai’s second step in broadening its appeal to driving enthusiasts.
The Hyundai Design and Technical Center and Hyundai Motor America presented the HCD10 Hyundai Hellion Concept during a press conference at the Los Angeles Auto Show in 2006. The Hellion is a compact, three-door, sport crossover designed with attitude and independence.
