The 2021 Hyundai i20 N is the high-performance, range-topping version of the subcompact i20 hatchback. The third N-badged model from the Korean company, the i20 N joins the slightly bigger i30 N and Veloster N.
Unlike its larger siblings, the i20 N features a smaller, less powerful engine, but it looks just as mean on the outside. 2019 Hyundai Veloster N
Introduced in 2011, the Hyundai Veloster replaced the Tiburon (known as the Coupe in other markets) in the United States. Essentially a hybrid between a hatchback and a coupe, the Veloster is available in a three-door configuration only and uses small-displacement four-cylinder engines exclusively. Offered in base and Turbo trim, the Veloster can now be ordered with the N upgrade following its second-generation redesign. The higher-performance variant crafted by the still-new N division is the first beefed-up Hyundai offered in the U.S.
Previewed by a series of concept cars with mid-engined configurations, the high-performance Veloster debuted alongside the standard hatchback at the 2018 Detroit Auto Show. Both boast sportier styling, new technology, and improved engines, but the N model also sports a number of aggressive aerodynamic updates, exclusive features inside the cabin, and turbocharged engine powerful enough to give the Volkswagen Golf GTI and Ford Focus ST a run for their money.

The Hyundai Veloster N Heads to the U.S. to Take On the Volkswagen Golf and Ford Focus
The all-new Veloster will be introduced to the world at the Thunderhill Raceway track in Northern California, before its official market launch later this year. What makes this Veloster special is that it’s the first ‘N’ model from the South Korean brand here in the U.S. The Veloster N has been developed at Hyundai’s facility at the Nurburgring, and it poses a serious threat to the hot-hatch market.

After months of speculation, Hyundai has confirmed what we’ve been thinking about all this time: a standalone flagship sports car from the N performance division is coming. It’s still unclear what kind of car we can expect, but a high-ranking Hyundai executive confirmed that the Korean automaker is already working on a halo model for the N division, adding that it’s going to be a car that “nobody expects from Hyundai.” Interesting things are afoot over at Hyundai’s new performance brand.
