10 Awesome But Underrated Muscle Cars

Here’s 10 cool muscle cars you haven’t heard of

When talking about muscle cars, we usually think about icons like the Ford Mustang, Chevrolet Camaro, Dodge Challenger, and Pontiac GTO. These are some of the cars that gained popularity in the 1960s and became part of the muscle car wars that lasted until the early 1970s. However, this short era that stretched from 1964 to 1971 actually spawned tens of performance-oriented cars in America. Also, the following decades gave us a few nameplates that tried to recapture the golden years. Some were successful, and some were not, while others were actually awesome but didn’t get the attention they deserved. This list is about the latter, the forgotten muscle cars that deserve more credit.

The Tatra T87 is the greatest car no one has ever heard of

The 1930s saw some of the greatest cars ever built come to life. In the U.S., we had the Cadillac 16, the Buick Roadmaster, the Ford Model A, the Lincoln Model K, and the Chrysler Airflow. In Europe, BMW introduced the 328, while Mercedes-Benz rolled out the luxurious and sleek 500K.

Then there was the Tatra T87, an innovative car designed in Czechoslovakia that doesn’t get the attention it deserves. Jay Leno says it’s "the greatest car no one has ever heard of" and he’s trying to fix that by featuring the T87 in a new episode of his famous video series.

Cadillac Needs to Nail the LYRIQ If It’s Going to be Even Remotely Successful

If Cadillac Doesn’t Get the LYRIQ Right, The Company Might Not Last Much Longer

Outside of the Chevy Bolt, GM doesn’t really have any electric vehicles. The Bolt was a huge step forward with its 259 miles of range on a good day, but GM is definitely falling behind, and that’s why Cadillac is set to “spearhead GM’s shift to an all-electric future.” The LYRIQ that has been teased here is the first of many to come and will be powered by GM’s Ultimum batteries. It will also ride on the same next-gen battery-electric architecture that will underpin most Cadillac and Chevy EVs going forward. We’ll get our first full look at it on August 6th, but what exactly can we expect?

Mercedes Just Gave the AMG GT More Power as the GT S Trim is Discontinued

Mercedes introduces an updated AMG GT, discontinues GT S trim

Go Out And Buy The Off-Road NIssan GT-R Because A Pathfinder Is Boring

The GT-R earned its nickname by squashing its rivals on the track but can it do the same on the trails?

The Nissan GT-R is one of the few constants in the landscape of modern supercars. Having been in production for a whopping 13 years, you’d be forgiven if you no longer give a GT-R a second look when spotting one on the street but that’s not the case with this particular R35.

With 4.7 inches of extra ground clearance, huge off-road tires, fog lights, and a roof rack, this Godzilla is one of the craziest road-legal GT-Rs in Europe and one that really puts the car’s AWD system to the test. Yes, this is a GT-R that’s ready to go off the beaten path.

2020 Jeep Gladiator - Driven

2020 Jeep Gladiator - Driven

The Jeep Gladiator is a great off-road truck but with a slightly high price tag

The Gladiator was the most anticipated launch of 2020, right alongside the Chevrolet C8. Jeep had revealed the pickup truck concept back in 2005, but it took the company 15 years to bring out the production version. This was going to be Jeep’s first pickup truck in 30 years, so it was natural for enthusiasts to be hyped up for it. Jeep even introduced five different Gladiator concepts at the 2019 Eastern Jeep Safari and gave the Wranglers a miss; which is some sort of a record in Jeep’s history.

The company launched the Gladiator with four trims plus a limited Launch Edition trim, but it expanded the lineup with three more trims within a year. The Gladiator was a true-blue Jeep, but it isn’t bringing in volumes for the automaker, perhaps because of its slightly-higher pricing. But, a year post its launch with new trims in line and price discounts to lure the customers, can the Gladiator rake in sales numbers for Jeep?

Audi Sport Is Banking on Emotional Electrified Performance

Audi Sport Will Soon Phase Out Purely ICE-Powered RS Models as Electrification Becomes the Norm

As automakers shift deeper into electrification, the option of having a pure, unelectrified combustion engine is slowly fading away. The latest automaker to make this more than evident is Audi or, to be more specific, Audi Sport – the group within Audi that’s responsible for all the high-performance RS models that we all love. Audi marketing Boss Rolf Michl expanded on this in an interview with Autocar, exposing Audi Sport’s intention of limiting drivetrain options in the future for all RS models.

The 10 Most Important Classic Japanese Cars

The Japanese car scene would look much different if these cars never existed

If I were to write about the history of cars, a single chapter wouldn’t be enough to talk about the Japanese car industry’s impact in shaping that history. I’d need a few chapters to properly encapsulate what Japan’s car history means to the larger history of the automotive world. From humble beginnings to global domination, Japan’s car scene has given so much to the auto world. That includes some of the most iconic car models to ever hit the ground. These ten models are classics in the basic sense of the term “classic.” More importantly, these ten models are classics because they’ve earned the right to be called one, whether it’s through sheer popularity or long-lasting impact in the business.

2020 Acura NSX - Driven

2020 Acura NSX - Driven

Is the NSX the best supercar for the real world?

Most supercars live a life of unexplored potential. In a world where a Toyota Camry can hit 60 mph in a once-shocking six seconds, and six-figure performance machines have to cut that time in half to be relevant, few cars can be pushed to their limits in legal conditions. And the higher the limits, the fewer the chances you have to approach them. That means most supercars spend their days flaunting their looks — along with the prestige associated with their extreme capabilities — between occasional bursts of all-out speed.

BMW to Take the Tesla Model S Head-On With the 5 Series EV, But Will It Have What It Takes?

The all-electric BMW 5 Series will probably borrow technology from the iX3

BMW recently unveiled the iX3, an all-electric version of the X3 crossover. The iX3 joined the i3 to form the company’s small, two-vehicle EV lineup, but BMW just announced plans to expand more into zero-emission territory. The i4 and the iNext are already underway for 2021, but BMW also plans to roll out electric versions of the 5 Series, 7 Series, and X1. The 5 Series is particularly important here, as it will go against the Tesla Model S.
