2020 Mercedes E450 Cabriolet - Driven
In a world where SUVs have all but taken over the market, there are fewer sedans and coupes to choose from. That reality is even worse for those looking for something with a top that gracefully stows away in the rear for unlimited headroom on demand. In fact, if you want a decent convertible these days, you’re only good option is either going with a roadster – like the Mercedes SLC or Jaguar F-Type – or something more conventional like the Audi S5 Cabriolet or the car we have here: A Mercedes E450 4Matic Cabriolet. Naturally positioned between the C-Class and the S-Class, the E-Class starts out right around $71,000, making it perfect for anyone who doesn’t want a smaller C-Class but can’t afford the six-figure price of the larger S-Class. So, what’s it like to live with the E-Class Cabrio? Well, I’m glad you asked, because we just spent a week with it and this is our story.
Rolls-Royce’s EV Plans Are Starting To Materialize, And There’s a Shadowy Secret
Just because Rolls-Royce has been tight-lipped about its electrification plans doesn’t mean they don’t have any. At least, that’s what this scoop suggests. According to Autocar, the British automaker is developing a new EV from the ground up rather than plonking an electric powertrain in any of its existing models. A patent for ‘Silent Shadow’ filed late last year further fuels these reports. Will this new model mark the beginning of a new EV era for Rolls-Royce?
2021 Renault 5 Prototype - A Glimpse Into The Future
The 2021 Renault 5 Prototype is a concept car that the French automaker unveiled during the presentation of its "Renaulution" strategic plan in January 2021. A modern tribute to the iconic Renault 5 produced from 1972 to 1996, the Renault 5 Prototype previews a production model that will arrive by 2025. The modern Renault 5 will be one of seven all-electric vehicles that the French brand wants to launch over the next four years, but apparently it won’t replace the Zoe or the Clio. What makes the Renault 5 Prototype special and how much of it will go into production? Let’s find out in the review below.
Hennessey Introduces a 1,000-Horsepower Ram 1500 TRX That Takes Just 3.2 Seconds to 60 MPH
Back in September 2020, Hennessey announced the introduction of a six-wheeled iteration of the 2021 Ram 1500 TRX called the Mammoth 6x6. The super-exclusive truck was limited to just three examples and was priced at half-a-million bucks a pop. Even though it sounded super exciting, a more practical version of the truck would’ve been a better option. It looks like Hennessey has answered our wishes.
The aftermarket company’s latest project is a 1,000+ Horsepower ‘four-wheeled’ version of the Ram 1500 TRX. It comes with a host of other mechanical additions and features. Hennessey has also announced that it will build 200 examples of this truck.
2021 Toyota Supra 2.0
We all know an love - well, not all - the A90 Supra and its 3-liter inline-six mill which, yes, comes from BMW, the co-developer of the Supra-Z4 project.
One year after the Supra’s unveil, Toyota decided to come up with a lighter, cheaper, and presumably equally fun version that’s animated by a four-cylinder mill. Turbocharging is still on the table, as well as a lighter platform for even nippier on-road behavior, despite the natural drop in power. Here’s all you need to know about the 2021 Toyota GR Supra 2.0.
The Rimac C Two, Which Doesn’t Even Have a Real Name, Is Not Completely Sold Out
The Rimac C_Two has been in development for the better part of two years, and even though the final production version hasn’t been revealed, the Czech automaker hasn’t had trouble attracting prospective customers.
No, Rimac hasn’t sold the C_Two’s entire production run, but it has filled up the supercar’s production allocation for the first year. That’s the word from no less than Rimac’s head honcho Mate Rimac, who took to Facebook to clarify rumors that all 150 planned units of the C_Two are already accounted for.
To Compete With Tesla, The Porsche Taycan Just Got Cheaper - If You’re Willing To Sacrifice
The rear-wheel-driven Porsche Taycan comes to join the likes of Taycan Turbo S, Turbo, and 4S. It’s also the entry-level Taycan and the fourth variant on sale. Customers can opt for one of the two available battery sizes and Porsche says we should see the new variant in showrooms by the middle of March 2021.
2021 Mercedes-Benz EQA
After launching the rather expensive EQC, Mercedes has now come up with a slightly more affordable EV that could be a game-changer for the brand. Called the EQA, it is essentially a GLA that comes with some cosmetic changes and of course, a heart transplant. Interestingly, Mercedes has used a different approach for this car.
The EQA isn’t a wild-looking electric vehicle with radical styling cues and neither is it a rocket off the line, which seems to be the norm in the segment. Not everyone likes to take off the moment you press the A-pedal, after all. So, if the quick, push-you-back-in-the-seat cars are not your thing, here’s a refreshing electric vehicle that will make you smile and let you drive it calmly.
2020 GMC Canyon - Driven
GMC Canyon has been around for quite some time now, and together with the Chevy Colorado, it is raking up respectable numbers for General Motors. The Canyon is positioned as a more premium and stylish version of the Colorado. Thanks to the growing competition, GMC has had to put its best foot forward to not let the newcomers like the Jeep Gladiator take a share of its pie.
To make sure of this, GMC has rejigged the 2021 Canyon’s lineup by making some big changes. For starters, the top-spec Denali trim has gotten all the more premium, while the All-Terrain trim is dropped in favor of the exciting new AT4 trim that is present on the big brother Sierra as well. Will these changes and additions be able to induce more sales for GMC?
This Is, By Far, The Coolest Lamborghini Sian Video Ever Made
Lamborghini delivered the first Sian FKP 37 supercar to the United States in December 2020. We saw that almost live thanks to youtuber and car enthusiast TheStradman.
Come January 2021 and another customer is taking delivery of his Sian, but this one is a bit more special. Sold by a Florida dealer, this two-tone Sian was given the Prestige Imports treatment at Lamborghini Miami by means of a full paint protection film coating and a quick service check up. While this is regular business for a luxury supercar, the cool thing is that Prestige Imports documented the process and released an epic video of it.
