The Kia EV6 Is A Formidable Rival To The Porsche Taycan, Too!

The Kia EV6 Is A Formidable Rival To The Porsche Taycan, Too!

The EV6 rivals the Ford Mustang Mach-E and the Tesla Model Y primarily, but it has enough potential to take on the much-more expensive Porsche Taycan

Electrification is the way to go whether you like it or not. Enough and more has been said about the advent of EVs, so we won’t get into that. Every automaker is coming up with their own new offerings, but there are some that stand out. The Kia EV6 is that stand-out model. Built from the ground up, the EV6 doesn’t seem like a half-hearted attempt from the automaker just because it needs to have a presence in the EV market. It is based on a new platform, a new design philosophy, and excels in most of the departments. It isn’t a perfect product, obviously, but it has a lot going in its favor and that’s precisely why it should be the talk of the town and why Porsche should be a little worried.

Six bright exterior shades make the GT2 look sexier than it already is!

You don’t really see Audi come up with such stuff, but the automaker has revealed a ‘Color Edition’ of its most powerful product - the R8 LMS GT2. There are no changes made to the cabin or the drivetrain, but you can’t expect much with a premium price increase of just $13,000.

The Story Behind 9 Cars Porsche Is Probably Glad You Forgot About

These are some of the weirdest Porsche cars you have ever seen

Porsche is a brand with enormous history, significance, and racing pedigree. Needless to say, their cars don’t deserve much of an introduction, simply because of the cult status they’ve achieved. This, of course, extends to their mainstream models and, more often than not, their respective limited editions. With that being said, there are some Porsche projects that, for one reason or another, did not come to fruition or simply remained in obscurity. This is exactly the case with the below-mentioned cars.

This Video Review of the 2003 BMW E46 M3 Will Take You Back to Simpler and Better Times

This Video Review of the 2003 BMW E46 M3 Will Take You Back to Simpler and Better Times

The E46 M3 is a banner car for that time in recent history when the past really shook hands with the future

The go-fast version of the E46-generation 3 Series is seen as some sort of a last hurrah since it stands as the final M3 to be powered by a naturally aspirated inline-six engine. With turbocharging being the norm nowadays, an N/A M3 may never return and, as such, we look back fondly to the E46 M3, the first properly fast M3.

Or do we? Many criticized BMW for fitting this M3 with the SMG-II semi-automatic transmission that was lackluster at low revs and oftentimes sluggish when compared to the manual six-speed transmission. Then there was also the crowd that bought M3s that blended in well with the rest of Bimmer owners that give the Munich-based company a bad rep because of the way they behave in traffic. RCR dives in to give its opinion on whether the E46 M3 was a hero or a villain.

10 Highly Anticipated Cars That Were Complete Let-Downs

10 Highly Anticipated Cars That Were Complete Let-Downs

These cars should’ve fared better than they did

There’s a saying in the auto industry that “every new idea is a good idea.” There’s a kernel of truth in that because the best and most popular cars are all born from ideas. But there’s a flip side to that saying, too. Just because every new idea is a good idea, it doesn’t mean that these good ideas end up as good products. Time and again, we’ve seen automakers take a promising concept and lose the plot completely when the production version comes out. Every company has experienced something along these lines, but we’ve singled out ten vehicles that serve as the best examples of highly anticipated cars that turned out to be let-downs. Granted, some of these vehicles had their moments in the sun, but those moments were fleeting. In the end, we all remember them for what they could’ve been. They’re not necessarily lemons, but they still leave a sour taste in our mouths.

The List of Predecessors to the Lotus Evija That You Didn't Know Existed

The List of Predecessors to the Lotus Evija That You Didn’t Know Existed

Yeah, Lotus really has a long history of electrification... kind of

Lotus just took a big step into the future by launching the Evija, its first-ever hypercar and first fully electric vehicle. Also likely to become the world most powerful production car, the Evija is a rather unusual car for an automaker known for affordable and lightweight sports cars. But as surprising as the Evija might seem, the truth is Lotus has been working with electrified drivetrains since the late 2000s. That’s a full decade of EVs and hybrids that haven’t received the attention they deserved. Granted, they’re all concept cars that never made it into production, but their existence signalled Lotus’ intentions. Also, several automakers based a handful of electrified vehicles on Lotus platforms. Let’s have a closer look at them.

A Deep Look Into Aston Martin's Mid-Engined History

A Deep Look Into Aston Martin’s Mid-Engined History

The 2019 Aston Martin Valkyrie might’ve been the spark that ignited a revolution but it wasn’t the first of its kind

Aston Martin is known as a maker of exquisite and refined grand tourers, long-legged cars that offer enough panache to satisfy Ian Fleming’s James Bond on many an occasion. You could say Aston Martin knows every trick there is to know when it comes to building a front-engined GT car and that’s why they’re now looking to build more and more cars with the engine behind the seats. But the Valkyrie, the new Vanquish, and the AM-RB 003 aren’t the first of their kind in Aston Martin’s history.

When you think of any DB model from Aston Martin, you imagine an elegant two-door tourer ready for long journeys with a sumptuous and well-appointed interior and a feisty engine in front of the windshield. The company’s one and only Le Mans winner, the DBR1, was also front-engined as was the futuristic brick-like Lagonda luxury sedan from the ’70s. But, then, in the ’80s, when Aston Martin returned to sports car racing, it did so with a mid-engined car. This effectively heralded a new breed of Aston Martins, one that has stayed away from the public highways up until now but one that’s interesting to look into nonetheless.
