Infiniti has taken their time releasing the EMERG-E bit by bit with teaser image after teaser images, but the concept has finally made its world debut at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show. The Emerg-E is a highly advanced mid-ship sports car with a future dependent on the reaction of the folks at the auto show. Whether it makes it to production or not, it offers an exciting glimpse into Infiniti’s future.

Next to a completely new design language, the concept also features an array of exciting new technologies that the brand "will adopt in its quest to build dramatic and sustainable high performance cars."

The EMERG-E is powered by a twin electric motor that develops a total of 402 HP. It will sprint from 0 to 60mph in just four seconds and from zero to 130 mph in 30 seconds.

UPDATE 03/08/2012: This review has been updated with the official details and images of the Infiniti EMERG-E.

UPDATE 06/14/2012: After debuting the concept version at the Geneva Motor Show, Infiniti has announced that the first running prototype will be unveiled at the 2012 Goodwood Festival of Speed (28 June-1 July). Exterior and Interior

Infiniti started to preview their future design language in 2009 when they unveiled the Essence concept car to commemorate the brand’s 20th anniversary. Then, in 2011, they another step forward and unveiled the Etherea concept, Infiniti’s first front-wheel drive car. Now, in 2012, the company added the EMERG-E - a concept that is sportier, more dynamic, and even more expressive than the previous two.

At the front of the concept is a three-dimensional "Double Arch" front grille with a new waved pattern. Another iconic Infiniti signature is the LED head lamp graphic inspired by a god’s forceful eye. Kimono inspired air intakes on the rear fender will further increase the elegance to this performance car.

The interior features the same treatment as the Essence: the spaces for both driver and passenger are formed by two different colors and materials contrasting functional and comfortable zones.

The Infiniti EMERG-E is a mid-engined concept powered by a twin electric motor that delivers a total of 420 HP. The car will sprint from 0 to 60mph in just four seconds and from zero to 130 mph in just 30 seconds. On zero-emission conditions, the concept has a range of 30 miles, but with the assistance of a small three cylinder petrol engine, it is capable of a range of up to 300 miles. In this case, it produces a CO2 output of only 55g/km

The concept features a pair of electric motors, a lithium-ion battery pack, four inverters, a three-cylinder range-extending internal combustion engine, and a petrol tank.

Infiniti says that the EMERG-E will make it to production depending on the reaction received at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show. However, expect to see many of its elements featured in the company’s future models.

There are plenty of electric models out there, but we believe Audi’s e-Tron model will offer the same level of luxury as the Infiniti. The Audi e-Tron is powered by a turbocharged 3.0 Liter TDI engine with an output of 300 HP, combined with two asynchronous electric motors with a total output of 88 HP. The result is a sprint from 0 to 60 mph in 4.4 seconds and a top speed limited to 155 mph.

This car is cleverly been designed by the ones who build it. Very rare and eye catching.

Who would not want a piece of this, really?

I have one word for it: exquisite.

Who wouldn’t be impressed in this Infiniti EMERG-E? The sprinting time it recorded sounds crazy.

They’re really ingenious to come up with this; it’s more than just a supercar because it contains a very futuristic element.

Because of its high-tech appearance, I also assume its performance to be innovative.

  (599) posted on 05.29.2012

Its aesthetic is like a hybrid of Ferrari and Lamborghini, and that’s what makes it captivating.

I may not find the exterior attractive, but they used cool wheel rims to add some beautification. Anyway, I didn’t realize that this car is running on electricity.

Am I the only one who doesn’t like its exterior? On the contrary, I should praise its fast sprinting and high performing engine.

The teasers were definitely worth it! I’ve been admiring Emerg-e ever since its first release of teaser. Now that they have fully unveiled it, the amount of my awe is overflowing.

I can’t believe that this car is using electricity to run; it’s too fast for an electric-powered car. How much electricity are they using to run this?

The exterior may have some flaws, as I only observed that the brilliance of the head lamps and wheel rims are its highlights. Pertaining to its performance, it is surprisingly high-performing considering it is an electric car. It’s even faster than some of the fuel-powered cars.

The first time its concept has been proclaimed, of course the initial action was to judge its looks by the teasers given. Now it has been fully revealed with its performance, it has even more appealed to me. The shape and body contours are very dynamic, and the wheels are so elegant. It fits its powerful and speedy sprinting.

COOL! I really love concept cars, and this one is very nice because of the combined beauty of Ferrari and Lamborghini. smiley

This car emerges from the brilliant minds of the ones who designed it. Very sophisticated and eye catching.

It really looks cool as it was presented on the drawings, but what was more important was the exact image of it on the upcoming 2012 Geneva Motor Show. This will be a great show from the former years.

The concept was still the best. I hope to see more from you guys as the 2012 Geneva Motor Show starts. I wish you more power.

Well, it’s nice to know that this sports car concept is making an environmental move which is good to hear off. This model will be more successful when released because of the unique style it has.

Wow! This concept is very promising on the style. I’m sure many customers would love to see this at the Expo.

Infiniti is doing great with their concept on electric cars. They are focusing on low-emitting electric cars. They are making an environmental move which is great to hear from them.
