To most of us, the Jaguar F-Type is synonymous with perfection. It has gorgeous bodywork that goes back to the iconic E-Type, powerful V-6 and V-8 engines and a lively attitude on both the road and the track. However, it seems some tuners are brave enough to meddle with Jaguar’s perfect machine, looking to improve its appearance and drivetrains. One of them is Arden, a German tuning company that has been updating Jaguars for the past 40 years. Given its experience with British sports cars, it’s not surprising Arden has chosen to modify Jaguar’s most intricate vehicle yet.

The F-Type gets the full treatment from Arden. The package includes subtle exterior changes, alloy wheels that are bigger than what customers can order from Jaguar, a lowered suspension and upgraded powertrains. All told, the F-Type benefits from the same upgrades available for the roadster. Read on to find out what the Germans have in store for the F-Type and how much it costs to have an F-Type modified in their shop.

The most important visual tweak that comes with Arden’s package for the F-Type are the Sportsline, 21-inch, alloy wheels. The twin five-spoke rims, a common part in the company’s inventory, can be had in several metallic or matte finishes. Although they go well with the F-Type’s design, the wheels will set customers back a whopping €8,200 ($10,825 as of 08/25/2014). Not exactly a bargain, huh?

Aside from the new shoes and the lowered ride height, the latter priced at €600 ($792), the coupe can also be fitted with custom aerodynamic flaps for the front bumper and a Gurney flap for the rear spoiler. Available in various color finishes or as carbon-fiber parts, these items fetch from €1,547 ($2,042) and €773.50 ($1,021), respectively. Next in line is a stainless steel radiator grille, priced from €1,059.10 ($1,392), and, get this, a Leaper hood mascot. Yes, folks, the Germans will fit any F-Type with the feline mascot that has been adorning Jaguars for decades. The Leaper figure is mounted right above the front grille and costs an additional €329 ($434). A bit cheesy, but somewhat cool, don’t you think?

Drivetrain updates are also available, and the German will tweak both the supercharged 3.0-liter V-6 and the 5.0-liter V-8. Details have yet to be released as of August 2014, but expect the coupe to benefit from the same engine upgrades offered on the roadster, which is up to 40-horsepower gains with its ECU retune and 150-horsepower gains with its supercharger upgrade.

Designed by Ian Callum and launched for the 2013 model year, the F-Type is a two-door sports car that can be had either as a coupe or a roadster. In its roadster guise, two engine choices are currently available in the United States, starting with an entry-level, supercharged, 3.0-liter V-6 unit that delivers 340 horsepower. The V6 S model benefits from the same unit, but it has 380 horsepower at its disposal, while the range-topping V8 S has a 495-horsepower, supercharged V-8. The coupe version has the same base and V6 S trims, but its range topper is the F-Type R Coupe with a supercharged, 5.0-liter V-8 that produces 550 horses. Recently, the F-Type Project 7 was added to the mix, and it features the supercharged V-8 with its output pushed to 575 horses.
