Jaguar’s FEEL XE campaign entered its next phase ahead of the Jaguar XE’s debut at the Paris Motor Show. This time around, the British automaker enlisted the help of noted British designer Stella McCartney to dress up a fleet of XE models in her own Spring Superhero print. Yes, the images you see covering the British luxury sedan are part of McCartney’s new superhero-themed line. Jaguar’s really going all-out to promote Feel XE, a platform it created back in July 2014 to “harness the spirit of British creativity and innovation." The company even tapped influential figures in music, film, and design to help promote the campaign.

That’s where Stella McCartney comes in. The popular British designer is lending her new superhero print into the XE, creating a playful and dynamic exterior that meshes well with its high-class interior. I admittedly don’t recognize any of the superhero heads printed into the XE, but I do appreciate that the XE can still have a fun side to it to bolster its reputation as an all-world sports sedan.

The superhero-clad Jaguar XEs will be parading in Paris on Monday, September 29, 2014 where they’ll be taking part in McCartney’s Paris Fashion Week Show on the same day. From there, the countdown begins to the Paris Motor Show where Jaguar is set to announce full details of the entire XE range.

Jaguar XE by Stella McCartney in detail

I’m not a fashion guy by any stretch of the imagination so I’m not really familiar with Stella McCartney’s work, but I do know a uniquely dressed Jaguar when I see one. This superhero-themed XE definitely qualifies as one of them. I understand that McCartney wouldn’t have been able to use the images of familiar superheroes because of legal issues.

But she did manage to work around the issue and create some interesting designs and apply it creatively into the XE.

I’m not too sure about what she’s wearing, though. Is that a track suit? Overalls? Pajamas? Just goes to show how hilariously under-qualified I am when it comes to fashion talk.

The Jaguar XE made its long-awaited debut on September 8, 2014. That day also marked the point in Jaguar’s history when it finally told the rest of the industry that it’s ready to return to center stage.

The XE was everything we thought it would be. It featured a dynamic style that was inspired by the XF; the long hood, short rear end, and coupe-like roofline, in particular are design traits taken from its big brother. That gamble worked, too, because the XE looks every bit the part of a BMW 3 Series challenger.

Under its hood, the XE will feature a host of engine options, although the only one that’s been announced so far is the 3.0-liter, supercharged V-6 that produces 340 horsepower and 332 pound-feet of torque. With that engine, the XE is capable of sprinting from 0 to 60 mph in 4.9 seconds to go with a top speed of 155 mph.

We expect Jaguar to unveil more engine options at the 2014 Paris Motor Show on October 4, 2014.

Kirby’s first exposure into the world of automobiles happened when he caught Knight Rider on television as a five-year old boy. David Hasselhoff didn’t leave much of an impression on him (that happened later on in Baywatch), but KITT certainly did. To this day, Kirby remains convinced that he will one day own a car with the same ‘spirit’ as the original KITT (not the 2008 monstrosity). He doesn't know when that will be, but until then, he’s committed to expressing his love for KITT, and all cars for that matter, here at TopSpeed.  Read More

Speaking about her work on the FEEL XE campaign, Stella McCartney OBE commented: "Jaguar is a British brand that’s full of heritage, charm and one that I’ve admired for years so it’s a pleasure to be finally working directly with them. It was interesting to adapt my playful Superhero print for the XE, adding a feeling of empowerment to its exhilarating design - I can’t wait to see it on the streets of Paris."

The FEEL XE Experience marks the next phase in the XE reveal, where Jaguar will announce full details of the entire XE range at the Paris Motor Show, from the exceptionally efficient 99g/km E-Performance model to the thrilling 250km/h supercharged S.

Together, the two prestigious British luxury brands have created the FEEL XE Experience; featuring a fleet of luxury Stella McCartney inspired Jaguars draped in her distinctive Superhero print from her Spring 2015 collection. These vehicles will be taking to the streets of Paris on Monday 29 September, delivering a series of FEEL XE Experiences that have been carefully curated by Stella and Jaguar to provide consumers with an Exhilarating taste of cultural highlights that are unique to Paris.

Two years after graduating from Central St. Martins College of Art and Design, London, Stella moved to Paris and four years later she launched the first collection of Stella McCartney fashion house in Paris. The French capital remains close to her heart and it is still the city where Stella shows her new ready-to-wear collections every season. It is fitting that the streets of Paris will be the only city in the world to have the Jaguar Superheroes on its streets.

Ian Callum, Jaguar’s Director of Design, spoke about his admiration for Stella McCartney’s work and their shared passion for British design and innovation: "I’ve always greatly admired Stella’s work and enjoyed her previous collaborative projects, especially the performance apparel for the GB Olympic Team. It is a beautiful demonstration of Stella’s commitment to elegance, style as well as functionality and, performance which are attributes that I looked to express in the Jaguar XE."

The FEEL XE Experience marks the continuation of Stella’s involvement in Jaguar’s FEEL XE campaign. Stella attended the Jaguar XE global premiere at Earls Court in London on 08 September, and she also chose to arrive in the XE, the most fuel-efficient Jaguar to date, at The 2014 Stella McCartney Green Carpet Collection earlier this month.
