Jaguar has come up with the Vision Gran Turismo SV, a concept car for the Gran Turismo video game that’s coming up for the PS5 in 2021. Following up on last year’s Vision Gran Turismo Coupe, this all-electric car comes with four motors that churn out almost 1,900 horses combined!

The company calls it the “ultimate virtual endurance racer” and pays homage to many models from the past. The circuit board livery even has references to the 1951 C-Type and the 1954 D-Type’s Le Mans debuts. Can we have a production version of this, please?

What Drives The Jaguar Vision Gran Turismo SV?

They make 1,877 ponies and 2,478 pound-feet of torque combined. Courtesy of these super-impressive power outputs, the Turismo SV hits the 60 mph mark from a standstill in just 1.65 seconds and keeps going all the way up to 255 mph. The batteries are laid out in the floor to offer a near-perfect weight distribution and low center of gravity. Jaguar has equipped a thermal management system with an additional liquid nitrogen circuit.

The Vision Gran Turismo SV features a lightweight composite body structure and C-Type and D-Type-inspired fenders. It measures 218.1 inches in length, making it 33.9 inches longer than the GT Coupe. However, the wheelbase remains the same at 107.1 inches. That’s because the additional length goes into enhancing its aerodynamics.

The GT SV comes with a new front splitter and a deployable rear wing, inspired by XJR-14, that deliver increased downforce during high-speed straight-line sprints and fast cornering. The rear wing has two movable sections that rise when extra downforce is needed, but retract back soon to minimalize drag. Not just this; the concept car even features apertures in the front valance channel air across the face of the front wheels to reduce turbulence and help air to flow cleanly towards the rear of the GT SV. Thanks to this engineering, the Gran Turismo SV has a drag coefficient of 0.398 and generates 1,065 pounds of downforce at 200 mph.

Jaguar has made use of a new lightweight material called TYPEFIBRE fabric that upholsters the two composite seats. It will also be tested in the real world by Jaguar Racing in the I-TYPE 5 during season 7 of the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship. Overall, everything seems to be ergonomically sorted inside the cockpit.

Jaguar has even developed a unique sound for the electric motors that is said to be "authentically yet futuristically Jaguar" as it approaches the 40,000 rpm redline. The car will be seen in the Gran Turismo game on the Play Station 5 in 2021. From the looks of it, it will be one hell of a car to drive.
