Okay, so Jaguar did a lot to freshen up the 2021 F-Type. Sure, it’s not the next-gen (and maybe mid-engined?) model that we wanted, but it looks 10 times better than it used to. Not that it was an ugly car by any means, but those big bug-eye headlights and funky corner vents in the front just weren’t working for it. Neither was the old-school technology that may only be 5 years old but felt much old. Along with the F-Type’s debut, however, came a small handful of images that I just can’t quit looking at, and then it hit me – these will make some awesome wallpapers!

Ecurie Ecosse Revives The Glorious Jaguar XJ13 With Sexy Tribute
Back in 1997, a Japanese collector offered $15.7 million (in today’s money) to buy the unique Jaguar XJ13. His offer, three times the asking price of a Ferrari 250 GTO at the time, was denied. Now, there’s something that looks almost like the XJ13 but performs better in every area. Welcome the Ecurie Ecosse LM69, the ultimate tribute to Jaguar’s first mid-engined car, the stillborn monster that should’ve intervened in the Ford vs. Ferrari war.
Under the baton of Frank Raymond ’Lofty’ England, Jaguar had won the 24 Hours of Le Mans an incredible five times throughout the ’50s with the Malcolm Sayer-penned C-Type and its successor, the D-Type but, then, Jaguar’s star in sports car endurance racing faded away as Ferrari took over as the dominant force. By the early ’60s, the Leaping Cat was still racing in long-distance events but on the nose of the elegant E-Type that was a production-based Grand Tourer, nowhere near a prototype that became a thing at Le Mans and elsewhere in endurance racing as Ferrari debuted the 250 P in 1963, the same year when Lola unleashed the Mk. 6 GT, the forefather (in some ways) of Ford’s original GT.
William Haynes, Jaguar’s Head of Engineering, had been toying around with the idea of building a mid-engined prototype since the dawn of the ’60s when he realized how effective a midship layout is in other forms of motorsport such as Formula 1. This idea was coupled with another one that’d been cooking in Jaguar’s ovens for quite a while - that of building a V-12 that would be used as a stressed member of the chassis. The end result was the Jaguar XJ13, a car that was outgunned almost right from the moment it was born and, as FISA banned big-engined prototypes at the end of ’67, it also had no place to race on the world stage. Now, Ecurie Ecosse, the historic Jaguar team that won the 24 Hours of Le Mans with Jaguar machinery in the ’50s, brought the XJ13 back to life or, rather, an XJ13 built to 1969 rules. Mark us intrigued!

Series Elite Launches One-Make Race Series For "Mature" Drivers
Are you of the opinion that there’s entirely too much young blood in motorsport? Are you tired of seeing 16-year-olds drive with audacious precision, incredible consistency and pace and humiliate the old and experienced? Well, now, the old have a place of their own: the Series Elite one-make championship for drivers over 50 years of age.
Jaguar is barely getting the I-Pace eTrophy series off the ground, one that’s supposed to give Formula E race-goers a little more bang for their buck. At the same time, a private initiative called Series Elite is trying to increase Jaguar’s footprint in racing by launching its own championship using Jaguar XE SV Project 8 cars. It’s supposed to be a series centered around wealthy gentleman drivers who are at least 50 years old and want to bang door handles in Jaguar’s most extreme sedan to date.
Series Elite expects to have a grid of 20 "mature drivers", as they put it, by the time the series kicks off next May. The 20 XE SV Project 8s that will be put to work by the 20 well-to-be adrenaline junkies are set to be slightly modified for track use but Series Elite stated that they can be turned back to the road legal specification quite quickly.

We’ve all seen videos of fast cars burning rubber on the Nürburgring. Have you ever imagined being in one of those record-setting cars? If you answered yes, well, you can finally do it courtesy of Jaguar. Starting in mid-November, Jaguar will add the XE SV Project 8, equipped with the Track Pack, to its Jaguar Race Taxi fleet. If you’re interested, a professional driver will whip you around in the XE SV Project 8 for $226 per lap.
WLTP Kills Another One In Europe, This Time Its a Jaguar
The stringent World Harmonized Light Vehicle test Procedure (WLTP) has struck again. This time, Jaguar bears the brunt. Introduced at the 2017 Goodwood Festival of Speed, the Jaguar XJR575 is no longer available in Europe. Since the powerful sedan is a gas-guzzler, Jaguar had no option but to retire the car in Europe.

The Lister LFP is a 200-MPH F-Pace Itching to be the Fastest SUV in the World
Recently revived British company Lister revealed an all-new car - the Lister LFP. It’s a heavily tuned Jaguar F-Pace, crafted to be “the fastest SUV in the world.”
This isn’t the first time that Lister prepared a tuned Jag. In fact, only a month or so ago, the company gave us a car dubbed the LFT-666, a 666-horsepower F-Type with numerous pieces differentiating it from the stock F-Type cars. Obviously, Lister crafted a comprehensive tuning program for the F-Pace as well. After all, one cannot craft the fastest SUV in the world without making a lot of improvements.
Could Jaguar Have A Mystery Unveiling Planned At Goodwood?
Count Jaguar in as one of the many automakers that will be in attendance at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. It’s not exactly ground-breaking news though, is it? Well, it appears that Jag isn’t coming to Lord March’s estate empty-handed as rumors are circulating that the company is coming with a new version of its XJ sedan.
Now, this isn’t actually a rumor in the traditional sense because Jaguar itself announced such plans. What’s been left in the dark is what kind of version of the XJ this mysterious model is going to be. The only thing Jag hinted at is that it will be a new “derivative” of the luxury sedan and that it will use the Festival of Speed’s famous Hill Climb event to complete its final testing phase. Other than that, we’re left to our own imaginative devices to speculate on what derivative of the XJ this model is going to be. Could it be a new performance-oriented XJR? Maybe something out of Jag’s SVO division to sit alongside the XE SV Project 8? There’s also the possibility that with the current generation XJ nearing its life cycle, Jag might be developing this mystery XJ as a last hurrah of sorts - like perhaps an ultra luxurious final edition model? There are plenty of different directions that this mysterious XJ could go so predicting what it’s bringing to the table at Goodwood will likely amount to nothing. We’ll know the answer soon enough.

Introduced in 2013 as a spiritual successor to the iconic E-Type, the F-Type marked the beginning of Jaguar’s much anticipated revamp as a brand.Offered in both coupe and convertible guises, with up to 550 horsepower, the F-Type received rave reviews and quickly established itself as one of the most appealing sports cars on the market. For 2017, the F-Type is set to receive an equipment update for the U.S. market in the form of a more affordable entry-level model. The update is available for both the coupe and convertible versions.
The good news is that while the base models will be cheaper, owners won’t have to give up amenities, as both variants carry over their 2016 standard features, while also receiving a few extras. Jaguar will also throw in the EliteCare ownership package.
The 2017 F-Type will arrive in U.S. showrooms in late spring 2016. Until that happens, let’s have a closer look at Jaguar’s most exciting modern-day sports car.

Introduced in 2013 as a convertible, the Jaguar F-Type quickly made a name for itself and began overturning long-formed impressions about the brand. The coupe came along the following year and solidified to the world that Jaguar wasn’t playing around. Jaguar was ready to kick butt and take names. It’s good to be bad.
At least that was the catchy slogan the company ran with until the PC police decided Jaguar was promoting villainy, or something like that.
Oh but how spot-on Jaguar’s advertisements were. The F-Type, especially when fitted with the supercharged V-8, is maniacal to its core. Like a super villain in his secret lair whose split personality can switch from docile to ferocious in the blink of an eye, the F-Type can move between a comfortable GT cruiser to all-out supercar with one toggle of its Dynamic Mode switch.
Now three years in, the F-Type has undergone some changes – four major ones, to be exact. The car now offers a manual transmission with the V-6, the supercharged V-8 is available in the convertible, the 495-horse version of the V-8 is no more, and every F-Type R comes with AWD. Yes, that means every V-8 F-Type is now makes 550 horsepower.
That also means the entire F-Type lineup is more concise. There is the F-Type, the F-Type S, and the F-Type R. Each can be had in either coupe or convertible form. My recent tester came as the F-Type R Coupe, meaning AWD is the major addition and difference from the 2015 F-Type I previously tested. That, and the optional carbon-ceramic brakes, of course. Yum.

Jaguar has announced an update for its flagship XJ luxury sedan, and it promises a refreshed exterior design, loads more technology, and a slew of different model iterations to choose from.
First launched in the US in 2011, the XJ has grown a bit stale over the years, but Jag wants to shake the old-man connotations by utilizing aluminum construction and the latest and greatest gadgetry. What’s more, the exterior espouses a timeless style with a hint of modern aggression, making for an enticing package.
The new XJ is also available in no less than eight different models, including several long-wheelbase variants that offer even more luxury than the standard car.
The questions is: can the new XJ outgun the top dogs hailing from Germany? Mercedes, BMW, and Audi are all in the hunt for high-dollar, luxury four-door sales, and each is bringing its own brand of technology and performance to the table.
Updated 09/05/2015: Jaguar revealed prices for the new XJ luxury sedan, which will be put on sale in the spring of 2016. Prices will range from $74,400 for the XJ R-Sport version and up to $121,000 for the XJR LWB version.

Jaguar has always epitomized the proper gentleman’s car for me – especially its sports cars. The imagery of an Englishman with his driving cap donned, twisting down some wet country road after tea time flashes through my mind when I consider where a Jaguar should feel most at home. Sadly, Jaguar lost its way for a few years, producing less-than-stellar vehicles with even less-stellar reliability records.
However that tide is certainly turning, thanks to Jaguar’s new parent company Tata Motors. Jaguar, along with is sister company Land Rover, has seen vast improvements. Leading that charge for Jag is this: the F-Type.
Introduced in 2013 as a convertible and 2014 as a coupe, the F-Type has swung perceptions of the brand and enlivened and grown (or should I say replenished) its fan base. Jaguar does make other fantastic cars, but none of them boast the outright appeal and allure as the F-Type.
And within the F-Type category, none appeal more than the 550-horsepower F-Type R. With the keys in hand for a week, I set out to discover exactly what the F-Type – and its revived brand – have to say for themselves.

In a move that shouldn’t be too much of a surprise, Jaguar will soon be replacing its high-performance R-S models with cars wearing the all-new SVR brand, and the first such model we’ll be seeing under this new naming convention is the upcoming 2017 Jaguar F-Type SVR.
This was all confirmed by John Edwards, the head of Jaguar Land Rover’s Special Vehicle Operations (SVO) team, who was quoted by Autovisie as saying that the R-S moniker will “disappear” and that the SVR models will be “substantially better” than the R models. In the case of the F-Type, that means that power will exceed the F-Type R’s 550-horsepower output, and while details are still unknown, we can only hope for an output closer to the 600-horsepower mark.
The SVO team will be responsible for developing SVR performance vehicles for both Jaguar and Land Rover, and Edwards promises that these models will be faster than the non-SVR models with specific tuning to both the powertrain and chassis. As an example of this, last year’s introduction of the Range Rover Sport SVR revealed the SUV had been retuned to produce 542 horsepower along with a top speed of 162 miles per hour.
Edwards did not give a time frame for when we could see the next generation of Jaguar performance cars to debut (or even which cars other than the F-Type will get the SVR treatment), but based on how amazing the XKR-S and XFR-S are, we’re sure we won’t have much longer to find out.

We’ve told you about Jaguar’s race-ready F-Type Project 7 before, but now thanks to Justin Bell we are getting a glimpse of what the car is really all about. Jaguar built the Project 7 to celebrate its racing heritage that dates back to the 1950s when the D-Type won Le Mans three times. After the success of the D-Type, Jaguar created the E-Type and brought beauty to the scene in the 1960s. Between the two cars, Jaguar’s catapult into the history books was solidified.
Unfortunately the world had to wait some 50 years before Jaguar produced a vehicle that matched the D-Type and E-Type’s reputation and beauty. The new-for-2013 F-Type has shaken the brand’s dusty image and brought back the iconic status of its vehicles. The new F-Type is a formidable car on the open road and track, making everyone take notice.
Jaguar was kind enough to give Justin Bell and the MotorTrend team the keys to this early Project 7 example just before the 2014 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. Bell stretches the Jaguar’s legs at the Mazda Laguna Seca raceway and along the California coastline, though at a very leisurely pace.
The Project 7 represents an awe-inspiring iteration of the current F-Type that harks back to the glory days of Jaguar racing. Its sharp paint scheme and is matched by the added carbon fiber front splitter, rear diffuser, and large rear wing. Even more so is the shapely cowl just aft of the driver’s head. Under the Project 7’s hood lies the same supercharged 5.0-liter V-8, but its output has been increased to 567 horsepower and 502 pound-feet of torque. The eight-speed automatic does the shifting.
Based on a car that is the successor to the legendary E-Type, and built as an homage to the incredible D-Type, Jaguar’s Project 7 is truly a thing of beauty.
Jaguar is getting serious about revamping its image. As with all luxury and premium brands, the desire to be young, cool and sexy is a very powerful draw. Audi has used a similar approach very successfully over the last decade, to now being a global luxury powerhouse with more brand appeal in some sectors than BMW and Mercedes-Benz.
Launching a successful luxury expansion takes bold vision, charisma and - most importantly - the right cars to match the brand’s potential. While Audi took a colder and more tech-driven brand identity, Jaguar is going to emotional route to branding itself a sports car specialist.
Jaguar is taking itself into a new arena with some very racy marketing launches for the F-type around the world, including a steamy Playboy collaboration.
Embracing social media, video formats, glamour photography, fashion spreads, everything: the F-type launch is so horny that you can almost smell the perfume wafting out its vents in the Jaguar’s official videos.
One of these sexually-charged videos stands above the rest, due to its slinky song lyrics, silk sheets and wind machines at a low fan setting. We get to watch Playboy’s 2013 Playmate of the Year, Raquel Pomplun, as her beauty team adds red Chanel lipstick to match her new 2014 F-type roadster.
She then lounges tauntingly in front of her new Jag, given to her as part of the prize for her incredible ... modeling.
