Who knew a premium American SUV->ke145 could make such an impression at the 2014 Paris Motor Show?->ke227 Turns out, Jeep->ke40 knew it long in advance, otherwise it wouldn’t have paraded the new Grand Cherokee Red Vapor Limited Edition at one of the year’s biggest auto shows.

The Jeep Grand Cherokee Red Vapor Limited Edition has a bleeding-red shade that’s hard to ignore. That’s the first thing you’ll probably say about this SUV. It’s gonna gnaw at your senses, but its flamboyance does have an endearing charm to it, especially if you like your SUVs to be loud, brash, and screaming for attention.

But I don’t want to keep harping on the ostentatious color of the Grand Cherokee Red Vapor because Jeep did add a lot of quality features to the exterior and interior of the SUV, enough at least to justify its special-edition billing.

Jeep hasn’t said when the Grand Cherokee Red Vapor Limited Edition will go on sale, but we’re pretty sure that it’ll hit dealerships sooner than later. It’s likely headed to some parts of Europe with some allocations for the U.S. market too. All of this is just speculation, but we’re confident that this is the route the limited edition Grand Cherokee will take.

Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT Red Vapor Limited Edition in detail

The powerful Redline Red Pearl Clear Coat shade of the Grand Cherokee Red Vapor could distract you from the other exterior updates. Though we cannot blame you for being distracted, it’s important to remember that Jeep is also offering two alternative colors: a Brilliant Black Crystal Pearl Coat and a Bright White Clear Coat.

There are also other new items worth noting, including glossy-black appointments on the liftgate badge, "Jeep" hood emblem and rear light-bar badge, the "Grand Cherokee" door badge, lower grille bezels, and upper grille inserts. Shiny chrome details give the Grand Cherokee a sharp appearance while a set of 21-inch, five-spoke Goliath wheels with a black-chrome finish rounds out the exterior modifications.

Moving inside, Jeep decked the Grand Cherokee Red Vapor with a number of new features, including new sports seats; a backlit, flat-bottomed, leather-wrapped steering wheel; and Radar Red accents spread throughout the cabin.

A Uconnect 8.4AN touchscreen radio and an upscale, 19-speaker, premium SRT performance audio surround-sound system from Harman Kardon puts the finishing touches on the interior upgrades.

Jeep Grand Cherokee SRT

The 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee looks like a new-generation model, but it's actually just a facelifted version that features a bevy of improvements. The headlamps are slimmer than past versions, creating a more aggressive look for the SUV. Even the fog lamps are more pronounced, same with the upper grille that looks tighter than its ever been.

Under its hood, the Grand Cherokee SRT is powered by a 6.4-liter V-8 that produces 470 horses and 465 pound-feet of torque. This HEMI engine mates to an eight-speed auto transmission that helps get the SUV to 60 mph in about five seconds.
