What Makes This Jeep Special

Aside from the obvious Dawn of Justice badging, the biggest changes to the 2016 Jeep Renegade Dawn of Justice Special Edition is the color. It comes in two color choices: Granite Crystal or the model-exclusive Carbon Black. Matching those colors are 18-inch wheels and other exterior accents finished in Gloss Black. Opt for the Granite Crystal paint, and the roof comes in a two-tone theme, accented with Gloss Black.

Opening the door reveals further changes to the Renegade, though not as prevalent as on the outside. The metal accent pieces that run throughout the cabin are now coated in a Metal Diamond color. Black cloth seats and high gloss black finishes round out the look. Jeep has also made the Popular Equipment Group package a standard feature, adding remote start, power driver’s seat, and dual zone automatic climate control.

Even less is changed under the surface, with the Jeep utilizing the standard 2.4-liter Tigershark four-cylinder and nine-speed automatic transmission. The engine features FCA’s MultiAir2 valvetrain system, which helps increase efficiency by electronically controlling intake and exhaust valve operation, while keeping power levels up. The engine is rated at 180 horsepower and 175 pound-feet of torque. Since the Renegade Dawn of Justice Special Edition is based on the Renegade Latitude 4x4, the Jeep comes standard with Active Drive 4WD and the Selec-Terrain system.

Active Drive features a rear-axle disconnect system that allows for instantaneous and automatic operation of the 4WD system whenever the Jeep senses it needs the extra traction. When on smooth pavement, power is routed solely to the front axle. Additionally, the Selec-Terrain system allows the driver to dial in the terrain being traversed, adjusting things like throttle inputs, ABS brake functions, transmission shifting, and of course, traction and stability control.

The 2016 Jeep Renegade Dawn of Justice Special Edition will arrive in dealerships before March 2016 and carry a MSRP of $26,250 before destination.
