The Jeep Gladiator Gravity Concept is perhaps the smartest looking truck of the lot that was presented at the 2019 Easter Jeep Safari. We are not sure if it was the design team that worked on this concept or the marketing team, but knowing that Jeep uses this event to create, innovate, and display new Mopar products, we have to say that this truck will bring in maximum revenue for Jeep. The Gravity concept is basically a table, shaped like a truck, that showcases a plethora of Mopar performance products. This Jeep shows how you can elevate the abilities and capabilities of your Jeep by installing the products from Jeep's performance brand. On the onset, the car looks absolutely fantastic in the orange shade while maintaining its rugged looks. Just like four other concept trucks, Jeep has based this one on the Gladiator, too. The automaker has made sure that the company's new pickup truck receives maximum exposure from this event. But, we cannot fathom the fact that not a single concept is based on the Wrangler!

The whole body has just two colors - orange and black. While the body is painted in orange, the black elements add a lot of character, and we can safely say that this is one tastefully modified concept. The black bumper houses the fog lights, two tow hooks, and two auxiliary lights. The hood features two air vents, just like the JT Scrambler concept and has black graphics in the middle. The sides of the hood feature two more auxiliary lights and 'Gravity' stickers. Now, coming to the most interesting thing here, Jeep has provided a 'mesh sunbonnet' that gives protection when the top is down. There are special straps as well to keep the windshield secure when its flipped down.

The side is perhaps the best-viewing angle of the Gravity concept. The flared wheel arches and the door sills come with a thin strip of black plastic cladding to avoid damage to the body. Right next to the fenders are two air vents, one on either side, and a graphic that depicts mountaineering, or climbing. Whatever, duh! These are subtle indications that showcase the versatility of the truck. The Gravity rides on 17-inch gear wheels. The most evident change in the Gravity concept is that the removable doors are replaced by tube doors made from two-inch steel. This product is already listed in Jeep's catalog, but pricing isn't yet available.

The bumper features a side step on the full-sized bumper that also has two tow hooks mounted on it. The bed area also features Mopar products - cross rails that work in tandem with the cargo carrier basket that creates storage space for your ropes, carabiners, helmets, and shoes. Heavy-gauge steel cross rails are thicker, wider, and utilize the same powder-coating that Ram has used on its truck bedliners to provide a non-slip finish. Jeep has also installed a unique Mopar Decked truck bed storage system that offers additional lockable cargo space through dual sliding drawers, while still allowing for storage on top in the bed area. This, too, will be available once Mopar starts officially offering accessories for the new Gladiator.

Interior

- Maintains a dark Theme Overall - Black Katzkin Leather Seats - Floor Mats With Removable Plugs - MOLLE Bag System - No Orange Accents In The Cabin

The inside is not as fancy as the outside. The black Katzkin leather seats have dark gray or Tungsten stitching and embroiderd accents on them. Then there are Mopar grab handles embossed with the Jeep logo, and floor mats with removable plugs for draining water and debris. No, you cannot stop it from coming in because there are no doors, remember? In terms of technology, the Gravity surprisingly comes with a touchscreen infotainment system, the specs of which have not been revealed. The interior, otherwise, is quite practical and comfortable. Jeep has provided an armrest and cubby holes as well. Jeep has featured a MOLLE bag system, which stands for Modular Lightweight Load-carrying Equipment.

Drivetrain

- 3.6-liter, V-6 Pentastar mill - Mopar Cold-Air Intake - Cat-Back Exhaust - Rides On 35-inch BF Goodrich Tires - Two-Inch Lift Kit

Jeep has not revealed the powertrain's specifications, but since it is a modified Jeep Gladiator Rubicon, it will feature a 3.6-liter, V-6 Pentastar engine. It comes with 285 horses and 260 pound-feet of torque in the stock form, but Jeep has spec'd the Gravity concept with a Mopar cold-air intake and cat-back exhaust system that will enhance the horsepower and torque figures. The engine is mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. The Jeep Gravity concept is fitted with the Mopar two-inch lift kit to tackle the unknown terrains safely. It rides on 17-inch gear wheels wrapped around 35-inch BFGoodrich tires. All of the equipment mentioned here will be available for the Gladiator in the very near future.

Final Thoughts

This living embodiment of the Mopar catalog truly justifies the concept's purpose, which says it is built for people who "have a desire to reach greater heights." We couldn't agree more. This Gladiator Rubicon-based truck is more than just great looks. With all these Mopar parts in place, we cannot wait to see this truck in off-road action at Moab, Utah. The 53rd Edition of the Easter Jeep Safari is being held from April 13 to April 21, covering the Easter Sunday.
