If you peep into the Mopar directory, you will see numerous packages and accessories for almost all the products owned by FCA. These packages are hugely popular with the SUV and truck owners.

Recently, it was revealed that a Wrangler owner spends an average of $800 on additional stuff from the factory itself when buying the vehicle. Jeep decided to capitalize on this even more and came up with a special edition for the Wrangler called Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Xtreme-Trail Rated.

Essentially, it is a culmination of a few packages that Jeep already has to offer along with a new yellow body paint. But, to maintain exclusivity, the company has capped the production to just 100 examples. Also, it will be available only in Mexico! Por qué harías eso, Jeep?

What Makes The Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Xtreme-Trail Rated Special?

As the name suggests, it is based on the Rubicon trim. The Rubicon is currently offered with two engines – a 3.6-liter, V-6 Pentastar engine that makes 285 horses and 260 pound-feet of torque, and a 2.0-liter, four-cylinder, turbocharged engine that makes 270 ponies and 295 pound-feet of torque. Both engines come standard with the six-speed manual transmission, whereas an eight-speed automatic is optional. In the standard form, the Rubicon comes with:

-* Rock-Trac 4x4 System with up to 84:1 crawl ratio.

-* Two-speed transfer case

-* Electronic sway bar disconnect

-* Front and rear locking differentials

-* FOX shocks

-* 33-inch Falken All-terrain Wildpeak tires

Jeep also said that it will be mated to the eight-speed automatic transmission only, even though it published photos showing the six-speed manual gearbox. The SUV also comes equipped with off-roading equipment, along with one major aesthetic change. It's painted in a bright yellow shade, called the Apicula Solar Yellow, which surprisingly looks good. It feels a little too bright but suits the SUV with the black elements all around. In addition to the standard equipment, the Wrangler Rubicon Xtreme-Trail will also feature:

-* Steel bumpers in the front and back

-* Two tow hooks painted in red and space to accommodate a winch

-* 4.10 front and rear axles

-* Tru-Lok differentials

-* Trail-Rated kit that includes gloves, “D” hoop, tow strap, and a Jeep bag

Final Thoughts

In standard form, the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon starts from $42,320 for the four-door version. The Jeep Wrangler Rubicon Xtreme-Trail Rated is priced at 998,900 pesos, which is approximately $53,350. As mentioned earlier, the production is limited to 100 examples and is available only in Mehico. Since Jeep has cleverly added the exclusivity factor to it, I don’t see why the company won’t be able to clear the inventory in a short time.
