What’s Special About This Wrangler Black Hawk Expedition?

The Black Hawk Expedition is based on a -door Wrangler. Chelsea has painted it in a Volcanic Moss exterior shade that has a 3-D texture to it. The signature seven-slat grille is swapped in favor of a four-slot grille with industrial mesh. The tuner has installed an Iron Man vented hood that looks a lot muscular than the stock hood. The front bumper is also replaced with an aftermarket unit.

In the illumination department, the Wrangler Black Hawk Expedition comes with LED headlights and daytime running lights. There’s also a LED light bar neatly placed on the roof, LED cube lights mounted on the pillar, and Tron ring lighting on the bumper. The fenders come with wide wing apertures at the front and back. The off-roader rides on 275/55 section Cooper STT Pro tires wrapped around a set of sexy 20-inch satin black wheels finished in 3-D texture paint. Chelsea likes to call it Mondial Retro wheels. Things at the rear aren’t too different. The spare tire comes with a Chelsea cover.

There are a few other notable changes made by Chelsea Truck Company. The Black Hawk Expedition comes with a Quad Crosshair exhaust system with 100mm tailpipes. There’s a split-level Targa roof, too. The SUV is also equipped with a lift kit, but the tuner hasn’t mentioned how high it is raised, but it’s not any more than two inches.

The seats come wrapped in orange quilter and perforated leather. It is completely contrasting from the exterior and will certainly be a hit or a miss. The center glove box and the armrests on the door also receive the same treatment. Other than this, the Black Hawk Expedition comes with machine-finished aluminum foot pedals, stainless steel door sills, rubber floor mats, and an identification plate from the tuner.

In the U.K., the Wrangler is sold with two different engine options. One is a 2.2-liter, MultiJet II mill that makes 200 horses and 332 pound-feet of torque. The other one is a 2.0-liter, four-cylinder turbocharged engine that produces 272 ponies and 295 pound-feet of torque. Both the engines are mated to an eight-speed automatic gearbox. The towing capacity is rated at 5,500 pounds irrespective of which drivetrain you choose.

How Much Does It Cost?

The Black Hawk Expedition kit isn’t cheap. It costs £37,000, which is approximately $51,000 as per the exchange rates at the time of penning this piece. This is over the cost of the donor vehicle. In the U.K., the Wrangler two-door starts at £49,350 ($68,000 approximately). Chelsea has a 2018 Wrangler finished in this spec for sale in the U.K. This right-hand-drive example is priced at £49,999, which translates to $68,800 approximately.
