If It Ain’t Broke, Don’t Fix It: 2023 KIA Telluride Teased Just Days Ahead Of New York Auto Show Debut
KIA will bring a refreshed Telluride to the New York Auto show next week. The Korean automaker has released two teaser images of its upcoming three-row flagship SUV. It’s not just the Telluride, but sister brand Hyundai too that will bring an update to its Palisade,, and images of that SUV were also teased online.
The Habaniro is Kia’s Spicy New Crossover Concept
Kia’s been on a roll with its concept vehicles lately. A month after unveiling the “Imagine by Kia” Concept and its 21 digital screens at the 2019 Geneva Motor Show, the Korean automaker took its traveling concept carnival to New York where it unveiled the Habaniro, a concept it claims is the world’s first-ever ECEV, as in “everyday car, electric vehicle.” The Habaniro is a bold concept. It’s also imaginative in terms of Kia’s vision for the future. Kia didn’t explicitly say that the Habaniro will never see the light of production day, but don’t expect it to arrive anytime soon. For now, the Habaniro is a concept that previews the direction Kia wants to take with its electrification and mobility efforts. Whether that future includes a production version of the Habaniro remains to be seen, but it’d be nice to wish for it, right?
Kia Enters The Exclusivity Ring With the Special Edition 2020 Kia Stinger GTS
The Kia Stinger GT has really been impressing reviewers and buyers alike ever since it was launched with its blend of bold styling, great quality and, last but not least, a rewarding, sporty driving experience. Now Kia intends to make the latter even better as it’s just introduced a more exclusive Stinger GTS at the 2019 New York Auto Show.

Kia’s Updated Sedona is Pretty Much About Revised Options and a New Transmission
The Kia Sedona is a decent minivan – there’s no doubt about that. But, Kia’s idea of updating the Sedona is nothing short of laughable. First, Kia did update the front fascia to be more in line with its current lineup, but outside of that, the only good thing that comes outside aside from new wheels are redesigned exterior lights. If you want LED headlamps you need to pony up for the higher trim levels while you have to jump up to the EX if you want the new power sliding door button. Outside of a new instrument cluster inside, the interior only sees updates on the options list while under the metal there’s a new transmission that’s supposed to be more efficient.
The Genesis G70 Thrives Where The Kia K900 Struggles
The new Kia K900 caused a divide here at Top Speed headquarters. Some of us liked the way it looked, but some of us were less thrilled about. By contrast, everyone agreed that the Genesis G70 was designed like a proper luxury sedan. There lies the (perceived) divide between the two saloons. When it comes to all-around design, the G70 takes the cake over the K900.
The Stinger GT Atlantica Adds A Special Feel To Kia’s Mighty Sports Sedan
First introduced just last year at the Detroit Auto Show, the Kia Stinger GT pretty much singlehandedly upended our perception of the South Korean brand’s sporting intentions thanks to its attractive five-door liftback exterior and competitive powertrain spec. Now it looks like Kia is jumping on the special edition bandwagon with the release of the Stinger GT Atlantica, which “celebrates the cross-Atlantic collaboration between the U.S. and the vehicle’s Germany-based development roots and introduces exclusive features not previously offered.” Standout upgrades include new paint and larger wheel designs outside, as well as Nappa leather upholstery for the cabin.

Kia May be Trying a Little Too Hard in the Looks Department With the 2019 Optima
The current generation of the Kia Optima isn’t but a few years old, but its mid-cycle facelift came a little early this time around. As is the usual case, there isn’t a lot of change to discuss, but the updated optima does have a new front fascia, new headlight and taillight units, and a revised rear fascia insert that allows for repositioned reflectors and new exhaust outlets. Interior enhancements are limited to some changes to technology while there are no changes under the hood to speak of. With that said, there are still some interesting things to cover so let’s take a look at the finer details.
The new Kia K900 is here to make you forget about the Mercedes S-Class and BMW 7 Series
Once known for affordable and not-so-great vehicles for emerging markets, Kia has developed into a full-blown automaker that covers many segments in the world’s most important markets. In recent years, Kia also took a couple of big steps into the premium market by upping the ante in the fit-and-finish department and by offering increasingly better equipment lines. In 2013, Kia decided to join the full-size luxury market with the K900, which was just redesigned into the second generation. Unveiled at the 2018 New York Motor Show, the new K900 boasts improvements in just about any department and looks the part even when compared to German competitors like the Mercedes-Benz S-Class and BMW 7 Series.
2019 Kia K900
The Kia K900 was launched in 2012 as the company’s most luxurious flagship sedan ever. Designed to replace the Amanti, a four-door which had moderate success in the U.S., the K900 brought Kia closer to its goal: to provide a solid competitor for the Audi A8, BMW 7 Series, and Mercedes-Benz S-Class. After almost six years on the market, the K900 was redesigned from the ground up and introduced to the North American market at the 2018 New York Motor Show.
Unveiled for the first time in its home market in South Korea, the new K900 looks significantly more modern than its predecessor. And, although it sports the brand’s current design language, it also boasts a few styling features of its own. It looks like Kia wants the K900 to stand out in the lineup, which is a good strategy in a market where sedans from different segments share too many features. The interior is a big step forward too, with the stylish design and the numerous convenience features putting it on par with the German sedans. Kia Releases First Official Photos of the New K900 ; Audi and BMW Execs Should Tremble in Fear
A new-comer to the premium segment, Kia isn’t the kind of automaker you think about when talking about full-size cars. But the Korean maker has been offering big sedans since the 1990s, when it made its own version of the Mazda Luce and Sentia, sold as the Potentia and Enterprise, respectively. Kia’s very own design came in 2003 as the Opirus, which was sold in the U.S. as the Amanti, with surprisingly good results. But the brand made a significant step up the premium ladder in 2012, when it introduced the K900. Also known as the K9 and Quoris in other markets, the K900 became the company’s first real competitor for German big boys like the Mercedes-Benz S-Class and BMW 7 Series. Come 2018, and the second-generation model is underway for an official unveiling at the New York Auto Show. And man it sure looks hot!

Fresh off of teasing the flagship K900’s exterior, Kia is following up with a teaser sketch of the interior. Slowly but surely, we’re getting a clearer idea of what the K900 has to offer. From where we stand, it looks like the Kia K900 is going to be more than just a novelty flagship; it has the chops to be a legitimate contender in the luxury space segment.
Kia’s Teaser of the Next-Gen K900 Shows Us A Sign Of What’s To Come
Kia went to the Geneva Motor Show and had a good time showcasing its new Ceed compact, among its other reveals. But the automaker’s activity isn’t just limited to the subcompact segment. At the top of its totem pole sits the K900, and the newest version of the flagship sedan is all set to make its own debut in April. But, before that happens, Kia has released a few sketch renderings previewing the sedan, giving us a glimpse of what we can expect when it takes its bow in a month’s time.
Kia Teases the K900 Sedan Before it Debuts at the New York Auto Show
Kia has released a teaser image of its upcoming K900 flagship sedan. The redesigned model is due to hit dealerships and showrooms sometime this year as a 2019 model. Despite only being introduced in 2015 in the U.S., the need for an update became important after the model went through a rocky 2017 that saw only 455 units find new owners for the whole year. The new K900 is expected to debut at the 2018 New York Auto Show in late March.
2017 Kia Cadenza
When Kia brought its resident full-sized sedan, the Kia Cadenza, to the U.S. market, we were pretty impressed by the car’s quality and design. It’s only been a few years since then, and Kia has impressed us even further with the redesigned, second-generation model. On the outside, the new sedan as a single contour line that runs the full length of the car and a more couple-like profile compared to the outgoing model. The grille takes on a new interpretation of the “Tiger Nose” design language, and the car has an overall look of simplicity and elegance. Inside, the redesign includes a new instrument cluster, lowered driver’s seat, a more upscale feel, and some new technology to bring it in line with the full sized market. The same engine from the last generation model carries over, but it has been detuned to offer a little less power and better fuel economy.
Competing against models like the BMW 5 Series and the Chrysler 300, Kia had to keep up. The fact that Kia is even competing with more luxurious brands like BMW and Chrysler is still pretty crazy, but the redesign imposed on the Cadenza for 2016 shows that Kia is surely up to the task. But you don’t have to take my word for it – take a look at our thorough review below to learn about all the fine details for yourself. It isn’t a car you want to overlook if you’re in the market for a new and somewhat sporty sedan.

Kia has made huge strides as far as overall quality and design goes since the brand entered the U.S. Market. That is more evident than ever in the 2016 Kia Optima. In terms of exterior styling, the new Optima gained restyled headlights and a new, more aggressive front fascia. The grille is now sleeker, and the side body profile is much sleeker than before. On the inside, Kia looked to its larger vehicles for inspiration, which resulted in an upscale, premium interior with quality and finish that is normally reserved for more luxurious nameplates. The center stack is even graced with an 8-inch UVO2 infotainment and connectivity system. Under the hood, Kia played the fuel economy game. Instead of upgrading, Kia opted to carry over the 2.0-liter and 2.4-liter from the previous generation with a decrease in power to accommodate an increase in fuel economy. A 1.6-liter, turbocharged unit has also been added to the list of powertrain options for 2016.
As you can see, Kia has a lot to be proud of when it comes to the new Optima. It’s not surprising, considering it was also inspired by the Sportspace Concept. The newly styled sedan raises the bar for styling and interior space and brings plenty of premium features that make it one comfortable chariot of those longer road trips. It’s hard to believe Kia has come this far, but it surely has. So, with that said, let’s look into the specifics of the new Optima and why it’s a major competitor for the midsized sedan market.
Updated 10/13/2015: Kia announced prices for the 2016 Optima which will go on sale in in five trim levels – LX, LX 1.6T, EX, SX and SXL. Prices will range from $21,840 for the LX with a 2.4-liter engine up to $35,790 for the SXL version equipped with the 2.0-liter turbocharged GDI 4-cylinder engine.

The Kia Sedona has been around since 1998, and is known as the Kia Carnival in some markets. Minivans have pretty much fallen off the map, with only a few big names out there. For the 2015 model year, Kia has taken the time to revamp its minivan and launch the third-generation model. Highlights of the new model include the new “Tiger-nose” grille, a sleeker exterior layout, new headlamps with LED technology, and a somewhat muscular appearance from the rear. Inside, the third-gen model is a huge departure from its predecessor, with room for up to eight passengers, and improved leg rom. The minivan also comes with Kia’s latest UVO technology to provide the best infotainment experience possible. Improving over the last model also meant that Kia had to do some work under the hood. Now, the Sedona features a 3.3-liter with 276 horsepower and 248 pound-feet of torque, which really isn’t bad for a soccer mom ride.
Of course, there isn’t a whole lot of competition out there as far as minivans goes, but that doesn’t mean that the competition that is here isn’t stronger than ever. Competing against models like the Honda Odyssey, Dodge Caravan, and the Chrysler Pacifica, the Sedona has its work cut out for it if Kia wants to surpass the mere 7,079 unites that is sold in 2013 – a far cry from that of the 120,000 examples of the Odyssey, for instance. Be that as it may, Kia put a lot of work into the all-new Sedona, so let’s take a closer look at it in our detailed review below.

The Kia Soul was introduced in 2008 as a concept, and later as a production model for the 2009 model year. It didn’t come to the states until 2010, where the first generation lasted through the 2012 model year. For 2014, Kia brought us the second-generation Soul that included design elements from the Tack’ster Concept from 2012. On the outside, the Soul received new exterior light units, a slightly revised front and rear fascia, and new side view mirrors. Inside, the interior was fitted with softer materials on the dash, center console, and door panels to help improve its “premium” appearance. Other interior features included a round shifter knob, push-button start, and revised steering wheel controls. Under the hood, consumers had the choice of a 130-horsepower 1.6-liter or a 164-horsepower 2.0-liter engine. A six-speed manual came as standard equipment, but a six-speed automatic was available at a premium. To round out the new Soul, it had an all-new chassis that was stiffer than before, heavily revised suspension, and a one-piece steering system.
In all reality, the Soul really didn’t change all that much, and to the untrained eye, the subtle changes that came with the second generation may not even be noticeable. Then again, Kia put a lot of work into the chassis and suspension, so ride quality and overall structural rigidity were increased significantly. Unfortunately, the second-generation model didn’t come with the cool hipster hamsters either, but that didn’t make the boxy little SUV any less fun to drive. The latest installment of Kia’s superhero lineup was finally unveiled at the New York Auto Show.
This time, DC’s Wonder Woman was the recipient of the Korean automaker’s superhero-themed vehicles.
The Sportage Wonder Woman is actually the seventh of an eight-vehicle partnership between Kia and DC and for what it’s worth, it’s one of the better ones we’ve seen come out of the unique collaboration.
The exterior of the Sportage features a truly unique aerodynamic look with a red and blue exterior scheme that comes accented with the same stars Wonder Woman has in her get-up. Notice also the gold trim found throughout the vehicle; that’s a nod toward the heroine’s golden lasso. On the front, Wonder Woman’s famous eagle chest plate is prominently featured and integrated into the Sportage’s grille with matching blue headlight beams representing her eyes.
Rounding out the exterior modifications is Wonder Woman’s tiara, which is clearly visible on top of the Sportage’s windshield. The chrome side panels on the vehicle that serve as graphical interpretations of her invisible jet and the five-spoke wheel design complete the wonderful work done on the exterior to pay homage to DC’s resident super heroine.
Moving inside, Kia continued the Wonder Woman-inspired theme with red upholstery and dash pieces, as well as blue LED lighting to match the exterior treatment. There are also custom seats bearing Wonder Woman’s costume with embroidered logo prominently featured. Last but not least is the cargo area of the Sportage, which has a see-through panel displaying Wonder Woman’s full list of crime fighting accessories, including her tiara, bracelets and a glowing Lasso of Truth.
