Lamborghini is far from a subtle automaker. None of its models can fly under the radar, and even if you ask for a toned-down color, a Lamborghini will still stand out from the pack because, well, it’s a Lamborghini. Of course, that’s not going to stop the Italian automaker from rolling out a new options package for the Urus that’ll supposedly succeed in toning down the SUV’s looks.

The new options package is called Graphite Capsule, and it includes four new exterior paint colors, neon highlights in the body and interior, and an assortment of other visual highlights. Opt for the Graphite Capsule package on your 2021 Lamborghini Urus and you stand to pay at least $218,009. That’s a healthy increase — more than $15,000 — from the price of a 2020 Urus. Then again, you are still paying for a Lamborghini. Those are expensive last we checked.

Is the Lamborghini Urus Graphite Capsule a special edition model?

No, it’s not, though it’s easy to mistake it as one. The Lamborghini Urus Graphite Capsule is a standard Urus that also comes with the Graphite Capsule package. It’s like the Lamborghini Urus Peral Capsule that Lamborghini unveiled back in June. Both packages, or “capsules,” as Lambo prefers to call them, adds extensive visual upgrades to what is already the most aggressively styled SUV in the market. There’s no set number of Urus models that will receive the Graphite Capsule package so it technically doesn’t fall under the guise of a traditional special edition model. You can head to your local Lamborghini dealership — if there is one — and opt for the Graphite Capsule on your 2021 Urus and that dealership can accommodate that request.

What makes the Lamborghini Urus Graphite Capsule special?

It’s not billed as a special edition model, but rest assured, the Urus Graphite Capsule comes with features and options that you’re not going to find in any other Urus model. One of its biggest options is the color of the Urus.

Except that you don’t tone down the Urus; you only highlight it even more. The Nero Noctis paint, for example, gives the Lambo SUV a stealthy look that’s impossible not to notice. Throw in the matching neon highlights that serve as accent colors — Arancio Leonis (orange), Arancio Dryope (orange/red), Giallo Taurus (yellow), and Verde Scandal (green) — and the Urus Graphite Capsule suddenly becomes more appealing to the eyes. The neon trim isn’t subtle, either. It can be found on prominent areas of the Urus’ body, including the front splitter, door inserts, rear spoiler, and all throughout the cabin of the SUV.

Throw in the set of 23-inch Tailgate wheels — exclusive to the Urus Graphite Capsule — and the black chrome finish on the rear exhaust rounds and you’re looking at an Urus that’s about as subtle to look at as a man dressed in Gucci from head to toe.

It’s worth noting, too, that the colors that are available in the Graphite Capsule are the same colors that you can also get from the Pearl Capsule package. The only difference is that the available accent colors in the Graphite Capsule are the exclusive paint colors in the Pearl Capsule and vice versa. Pick your poison, right?

The exterior paint colors are also represented in the interior, specifically the neon accents. It’s easy to spot them, too. You can find them applied to the central tunnel leather trim, seat bolster inserts, the embroidered Lamborghini logo on the headrests, and even on the Q-citura stitching The seats are also dressed to impress in ventilated Alcantara while the dark anodized aluminum on the dashboard and the matte finish carbon fiber inserts are included as other forms of trim accents inside the Urus Graphite Capsule.

Does the Lamborghini Urus Graphite Capsule come with any engine upgrades?

No, the Lamborghini Urus Graphite Capsule does not come with any engine upgrades, though that’s expected. The Urus Pearl Capsule didn’t feature anything of that sort, either. The good news is that the 2021 Urus is still powered by the same 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V-8 engine as past models of the SUV. That V-8 can produce a stout 641 horsepower and 627 pound-feet of torque and, with the help of an eight-speed automatic transmission, the V-8 can send all that power to all four wheels of the SUV, helping the Urus accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.1 seconds and conquer the quarter-mile in 11.3 seconds at 121 mph. The Urus’ top speed is still pegged at 190 mph.

Final Thoughts

You can excuse some people for thinking that the Graphite Capsule package would tone down the aggressive looks of the Urus. It's just that those expectations couldn't be further from reality. Sure, the Pearl Capsule has the more vibrant paint colors, but the Graphite Capsule also includes neon colors that bring out a whole lot of color when painted on the Lamborghini SUV. The color combination works, too, in creating a visibly stunning contrast that's impossible to ignore. Throw in the same treatment in the interior and add those exclusive wheels and let's be real here. The Lamborghini Urus Graphite Capsule is far from subtle, and, to be honest, it doesn't have to be. The package looks great on the Urus.
