Land Rover is getting old. In fact, it just reached the big 4-0 and for their big birthday celebration, the company is creating the new 2012 Evoque. It is the lightest and most fuel efficient Land Rover in the company’s history, but it’s not like the other models set the bar very high in those departments anyway.

The car will be smaller than the LR2 and will be more of a sports machine than an off-road vehicle. Buyers will be able to choose from a two-door or a four-door model, both of which are close to their concept counterparts. The car will officially be called the Range Rover Evoque, as this model is more on the luxurious side of things.

There will be a front-wheel drive model - the first in the company’s history - and an all-wheel drive model available. There will likely be a diesel motor with start/stop technology, but no word on if that motor will be in the United States. Land Rover believes that this diesel motor should be able to deliver the same sort of economy as the base Mini Cooper.

We expect Land Rover to create a hybrid model as well and Land Rover has announced that it should come two years after its Paris Motor Show launch in September.

The picture above is really a teaser! I can’t wait for the official exterior appearance of this one. Well, I am also hoping that they would use an impressive and powerful engine on it.

This is an absurd idea. What’s with them to make that kind of design? Maybe Landrover is already old. The public will probably laugh with that car.

Lol, what with this vinyl or paint trend on unreleased cars?
