Land Rovers->ke46 have always been desirable. Thanks to their fantastic off-road abilities, on-road comfort, and surprising power, the rugged automaker turned luxury brand hasn’t had too many issues with selling its SUVs.->ke145 But now, Land Rover has announced two new special editions for its Discovery->ke511 model. Called the Graphite and Landmark editions, the pair is aimed at buyers seeking a more distinguished ride.

More specifically, the Landmark edition improves off the Discovery’s current top trim, the HSE. Exterior details are added for a more bespoke look, including full-length roof rails finished in a bright silver color; its fender vents, grille, and mirror caps come finished in a glossy black color; and 20-inch wheels exclusive to the trim finish off the look.

Only five colors are available for the Discovery Landmark: Waitomo Grey, Santorini Black, Yulong White, Indus Silver, and a new color called Zanzibar that is only available on the Landmark Edition.

Of course, Land Rover didn’t leave the interior alone. The Landmark comes with Windsor Leather seats and an “extended” leather package that wraps even more interior bits in the cowhide. Color choices include Ebony, Almond, and Tan. Interestingly enough, this is the first time the Discovery has ever had a tan interior. What really sets the interior apart is the choice of different steering wheels that accompany corresponding wood trim choices.

Land Rover makes no mention of powertrain updates or even which powertrain is offered. Since it's built off the HSE trim, it’s easy to assume the 3.0-liter turbodiesel is the only engine choice. And of course, the Discovery Landmark is only available in Europe and other parts of the world. (Look for news about the Graphite model on TopSpeed soon.)

What makes the Land Rover Discovery Landmark special

Think of the Land Rover Discover Landmark Edition as a way for Disco owners to separate themselves from the crowd. The black accents matched with the 20-inch wheels and topped off with the limited range of color choices make Landmark Editions more rare and therefore more valuable.

Speaking of value, the Landmark Edition starts at £55,995, which is currently about $85,963 U.S. dollars. That might seem expensive, but it’s only a £1,495 increase over the standard HSE trim level.

The Discovery Landmark can be ordered starting at the end of October 2015 and deliveries will begin by January of 2016.

Land Rover Discovery

The Land Rover Discovery has a familiar face that dates back to 1989 when the Discovery I was launched. That original design held on, though with some major changes, through 2003. It was in 2004 that the Discovery 3 revived Land Rover’s part in the SUV segment. Sold in the U.S. as the LR3, the vehicle became instantly popular.

Now the Discovery 4, LR4, or simply the Discovery, Land Rover’s latest iteration came about in 2009. The updated vehicle carries more upscale looks, a more premium cabin, and upgraded powertrains.

For 2016, the Discovery comes in a range of trim levels, spanning from the base SE up to the HSE Luxury trim. Air suspension, Terrain Response 2, Land Rover’s traction management system, a variety of engines that include turbodiesel and supercharged gasoline engines make up the standard equipment.

Prices in Europe range from £41,600.00 ($63,868) to £59,970.00 ($92,071).
