Range Rover is generally regarded as a brand that has churned out tough, brawny vehicles with a tilt towards off-roading. The Velar, however, will change your mind. Don’t get me wrong; the SUV can still take the beaten paths, but it’s the opulence and the luxuriousness that will leave you drooling.

But, even if this wasn’t enough for you, Manhart Performance has something the offer. The German tuner has given the Range Rover Velar SVAutobiography Dynamic Edition a twist that increases the output figure to make almost 600 horses. That should make you happy.

Some Background

Even in terms of looks, the Velar retains the Range Rover DNA at its core. For the 2020 model, Range Rover added a new SVAutobiography Dynamic Edition trim that beats the other trims by a huge margin. This trim makes over 160 horses more than the next best model in the Velar’s lineup.

What Changes Has Manhart Performance Made?

In the stock form, the Range Rover Velar SVAutobiography Dynamic Edition is powered by a 5.0-liter, V-8 supercharged engine that makes 542 horses and 502 pound-feet of torque. Power is sent to all the wheels via an eight-speed automatic gearbox. It even features active electronically controlled locking rear differential and torque vectoring by braking.

The Velar receives Manhart Performance ECU remapping, which is complemented by the custom sports exhaust system with flap control, featuring a replacement pipe with 200-cell HJS catalytic converters. In the standard form, the Velar SVAutobiography Dynamic Edition takes 4.5 seconds to hit the 62 mph from a standstill and sprints up to 170 miles per hour before losing breath. Manhart has not revealed the performance figures, but we expect it to be quicker at least, if not faster.

Is There Anything Different On The Outside?

On the outside, Manhart has changed the Velar’s shoes. The luxurious SUV now rides on turbine-design 23-inch Hawke Gloss black wheels wrapped around 285/35 section low profile rubber at the front and back. I found the wheels to be an inch or two bigger. The wheels look stunning on the black shade of the car. The red calipers break the monotony. There is a sufficient dose of Manhart decals all around the SUV along with a subdued racing stripe on the hood. The chrome exhaust pipes are swapped with four black tailpipes.

There Are No Changes Inside The Cabin

Instead of featuring a gigantic touchscreen display, Range Rover has equipped a set of two 10-inch touchscreens on the center console. The company calls it the Touch Pro Duo system. The ventilated seats are wrapped in unique Diamond Quilted perforated Windsor leather. All-in-all, the cabin reeks of luxury and there’s nothing much left to desire.

Final Thoughts

The Range Rover Velar SVAutobiography Dynamic Edition is a wholesome package and there isn’t anything that’s missing. It looks fabulous on the outside, premium on the inside, and has sufficient power under the hood. More power is always welcome and Manhart has done just that. It’s good that the tuner didn’t go overboard with the aesthetics of the SUV.

Although the Hawke wheels have a lovely design, they are a size or two bigger. Perhaps, the tuner should’ve stuck with 21- or 22-inch wheels. Nevertheless, this mod’s primary focus was to give it some extra boost and we have no qualms in that regard. Manhart Performance has not revealed the price of this customization.
