Land Rover is updating the Discovery} family for the 2023 model year by adding a new trim version to the lineup. Called Metropolitan Edition, the new model will be built on the R-Dynamic HSE specification and will now sit on the top of the Discovery family. In the States, the model will be priced from $75,300 - quite an increase over the Discovery's base price of $56,600, but is it worth it?

What makes the Land Rover Discovery Metropolitan Edition special?

As previously mentioned, the Metropolitan Edition will be built on the R-Dynamic HSE specification, but it will add a series of technologies that will increase both the comfort and the convenience provided by the Discovery family.

In order to easily distinguish it from the rest of the lineup, the Metropolitan Edition will offer Bright Atlas detailing for the grille and Discovery lettering. This feature matches perfectly with the lower bumper inserts painted in a very cool Hakuba Silver.

They combine perfectly with the black Land Rover brake calipers.

As far as standard features go, the 2023 Discovery Metropolitan Edition will offer:

- Head-up Display

- Heated steering wheel

- Wireless phone charging

- Front cooler compartment

- Four-zone climate control

For the interior Land Rover opted for a Titanium Mesh trim detailing.

The D300 engine delivers a total of 295 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque, while the P360 comes with an output of 355 horsepower and 368 pound-feet of torque. The model offers a best-in-class towing capacity of 8,200 pounds.
