2019 Land Rover Range Rover Sport - Driven
Despite offering one of the most premium cabins in its SUVs, Land Rover is still not recalled as a luxurious brand. It is, however, synonymous with reliable, tough off-roaders. But, if you have spent some time with any of the latest models, you will realize that the brand has come a long way in terms of spoiling and pampering the customer. It can give the big three Germans a tough fight in this aspect. And the Land Rover Range Rover Sport further strengthens this faith. Just like any other model in its lineup, the Range Rover Sport will definitely age gracefully and blend well with the upcoming new crop of EVs that look like they belong to another planet. But is the Range Rover Sport all about the aesthetics and luxuriousness? We laid our hands on it and our answer is...of course not!
Thanks to James Bond, We Now Know Exactly What the 2020 Land Rover Defender Looks Like
It’s been three years since Land Rover discontinued the iconic Defender and the boxy SUV is about to make a comeback through a new generation. Land Rover has already confirmed that the new Defender will debut in September 2019, but we have yet to see it without camouflage. Until today, when someone spotted the SUV on the movie set of the upcoming James Bond movie "No Time To Die" and posted a photo on Instagram. The SUV is camo-free and shows the new design in all its glory.
Leaked LEGO Technic Kit Gives Us Our First Glimpse at the 2020 Land Rover Defender
The Land Rover Defender is coming to the U.S. after an absence spanning more than two decades. But before the 2020 Defender hits our shores, it could be pre-empted by a smaller, but no less awesome, version. This, folks, is LEGO’s latest masterpiece: a 2,573-piece LEGO Technic replica of the iconic Land Rover Defender, complete with a working steering mechanism, a four-speed sequential gearbox, a chassis with three differentials, an independent suspension, and a winch that actually works. Mind you, this is a LEGO Technic version of the OG Land Rover Defender, though, with the specs, you’d be forgiven for thinking it was the real deal. The LEGO Technic Land Rover Defender is scheduled to come out in October, one month after the actual 2020 Defender debuts, presumably at the 2019 Frankfurt Motor Show.
Land Rover finally updates the old Discovery Sport, add new tech and sporty features
Five years old as of 2019, the Land Rover Discovery Sport is the company’s oldest product on the market. As a result, the British firm rolled out a mid-cycle facelift. A bit late to the party given that modern vehicles have a shorter life span, but the update is rather consistent and includes new technology and notable design changes.
All-New Land Rover Defender Debuts This September, Goes On Sale In 2020
After years of working on it, Land Rover is going to reveal an all-new Defender this year. The old Defender was phased out in 2016 mainly due to the fact that it did not meet safety standards for both occupants and pedestrians - they couldn’t even equip the old one with airbags, so a ground-up redesign was decided.
Chinese Automaker Jiangling Forced to Stop Production of its Range Rover Evoque Copy
Jaguar Land Rover has been fighting a lengthy and tedious legal battle against Jiangling Motor Corporation (JMC) from China it initiated when the company launched a model that very closely resembled its Range Rover Evoque. The copycat model is called the Landwind X7, and it has been in production uninterrupted since 2015, but now, a Beijing court has ordered the automaker to stop making the X7.
2020 Land Rover Range Rover Sentinel
The Sentinel is the Land Rover Range Rover to get if you often feel like someone may be cooking a bullet with your name on it. And, now is the time to get it because Land Rover Special Vehicle Operations unveiled an improved version that’s powered by the venerable 375-horsepower, 5.0-liter engine that is tasked with keeping an SUV that can survive the blast of an IED on the move. The Land Rover Range Rover is one of the most imposing European full-size SUV and, in long-wheelbase specification, it measures 204.7 inches in length, more than a standard Cadillac Escalade. But, there’s a way to obtain a Range Rover that gleams even more with officialdom than usual if you get one that’s armored. There are many companies more than willing to add thick bulletproof glass and reinforced sheet metal on your luxurious mode of transport, but the Sentinel is an official product offered by Land Rover itself, not some third-party outfit. That alone is supposed to make it the more reassuring option.
2019 Land Rover Range Rover Velar SVAutobiography Dynamic Edition
Land Rover’s compact luxury crossover SUV, the Range Rover Velar, is finally getting a seriously fast version in the form of the SVAutobiography Dynamic Edition. It has 473 horsepower, as much as the bigger Range Rover Sport SVR, and 502 pound-feet of torque, enough for a 0 to 60 mph time of just 4.3 seconds. With a top speed of 170 mph, it’s also one of the fastest Land Rover products you can buy today and it doesn’t fail to let you know all about how grunty it is.
You’re now looking at the top-of-the-range Velar. The most expensive version money can buy and the one that will get you to your destination the fastest. Its 5.0-liter V-8 isn’t new either. What’s interesting here is Land Rover’s decision to use the SVAutobiography name for the hottest Velar instead of the SVR name that adorns the angriest Range Rover Sport and the Jaguar F-Pace.
The Land Rover Range Rover is also available in SVAutobiography trim and, like the Velar, it’s more subtle than the SVO-developed SVR models. That is if you can call turbine-like 22-inch wheels and quad exhausts a note of subtlety. What’s certain is that the $111,402 price tag is no way shape or form subtle being just $3,000 shy off the price of a Range Rover Sport SVR.
2019 Land Rover Range Rover Evoque vs 2019 Mercedes GLA-Class
Land Rover first introduced the Range Rover Evoque in 2011. A few years later, Mercedes-Benz revealed the GLA-Class in 2013. Both offer subcompact crossover practicality wrapped in a luxurious, high-end package. Both seat five passengers, and both come with a long list of options and features to help them stand out in a crowd. But the question remains - which is best? To find out, we dove headfirst into the spec sheets and put together the following comparison article.
2020 Land Rover Discovery Sport
Land Rover is already working on a next-generation Discovery Sport, but with the model still a few years away from arriving, a facelifted version of the current Discovery Sport is making test rounds. The prototype is wrapped in heavy camouflage, but the overall shape of the SUV suggests that there could be a lot of changes made to the updated Discovery Sport ahead of the next-generation model’s arrival in a few years.

The 2020 Land Rover Defender is Aimed at the Heart of North America
The Land Rover Defender and its boxy appearance won over enthusiasts thanks to its timeless styling and off-road capabilities. The last model, which was largely unchanged since it hit the market in 1983 was discontinued in 2016, and there has been a cry for a new generation ever since. Recently, Land Rover decided to show off one image of the new Defender, and everyone was drooling. But, not as much as you’re going to drool today as Land Rover not only released a handful of official spy shots but has finally confirmed its debut in 2019 as a 2020 model. The best part is that it’s coming to America!
Land Rover Uses Wire Art to Tease the Next-Gen Range Rover Evoque
The new Range Rover Evoque will be unveiled next week in London but, until then, here’s a tangible sneak peek to quench our thirst for more on Land Rover’s new compact luxury SUV: a number of wireframe models that showcase the model’s evocative lines.
The Range Rover Evoque was launched back in 2011 as a sleek and posh alternative to the bulky Range Rover that was meant for city usage first and foremost, not the off-road venue where the brand made a name for itself. The Gerry McGovern-designed SUV was previewed by the LRX concept unveiled in 2008. Now, a decade later, we’re nearing the release of the new Evoque that Land Rover has teased with the #HelloEvoque campaign that involved a few wireframe models photographed around London.
