Tuning an SUV is something often left to companies that make them more off-road capable. Some luxury SUV platforms, like those from Land Rover, receive the ultra-luxury treatment, but have you ever seen a Lexus->ke47 SUV makeover from a renowned tuner? Wald International has been building body kits and upgrading all sorts of luxury automakers offerings for years and has now set their sights on the LX570.

This big Lexus is the brother of Toyota's legendary LandCruiser model->ke1298, but receives a more elegant exterior and interior. This model is meant to compete in the big leagues with the Range Rover->ke469 and Mercedes G550->ke1712, but often falls to the bottom of anyone's wish list. Sure it's not as flashy as the other offerings, but the luxury quotient is certainly there. It is also extremely versatile in any road condition just like the G550. In order to make this car more appealing to the style conscious, Wald has given the LX570->ke497 its Black Bison makeover.

Wald has two lines of customization for several of its models and the Black Bison designation is left for the most special and extreme. For this LX570, they have included a complete wide body kit with powerfully styled elements. The new front fascia has large air intake and daytime LED running lights. The rear fenders have air intakes similar to the ones on the other Black Bison Body kits and the rear diffuser is also similar. When looking at the new quad exhaust cutouts and completely reshaped rear bumper, it is hard to not notice the Lexus IS F influences. Wald receives this criticism for its other Black Bison kits as well, but for a Lexus LX570 this type of styling fits right in. Lexus will certainly never make an "F" version of this vehicle, so it is up to the customer to make it themselves.

The tuning company also decided to use large 24" wheels to fill the entire wheel wells of the LX570. The Mahora M13 five-spoke alloys are shod in high performance rubber to complete the look. We think the white LX570 with wheels finished in a grey tone are the most striking combination.

Many Japanese customers have been upset that the Lexus LX570 is not even available in their country. Every one that comes off the assembly line in Japan is marked Export Only. This means that they have to buy Toyota Land Cruisers and customize them to Lexus levels of luxury. Wald has helped to fill the void by offering a similar kit for the Land Cruiser. The Wald Black Bison LX570 is certainly as, if not more, luxurious than any other premium offering in its class. Its capabilities and versatility make it a great choice for any consumer and the addition of this styling has made it even more desirable. Pricing has not yet been made available by Wald International.
