If Lexus wanted to make a splash at Frankfurt with its LF-NX Concept, it sure did pick a good design to get it done.
Redefining — yet again — what we’ve come to expect from its new and drastically improved design language, the Japanese automaker has once again thrown us all for a loop with its latest concept vehicle.
Suffice to say, the LF-NX Concept looks like its going to be one of the most popular cars that will be at Frankfurt next week. It looks absolutely stunning, combining its mean visage with a low-lying profile that makes you wonder if this is an actual crossover or an oversized coupe.
Obviously, it’s the former, but the mere fact that there are hints of sportiness and aggression on the LF-NX Concept that are normally attributed to coupes goes to show the lengths Lexus is taking these days to completely change the way we think about the brand moving forward.
Updated 1/29/14: At the 2014 NAIAS, Lexus revealed an image of the LF-NX that looks nearly nothing like the concept that we saw earlier. This leads us to believe that this is a preview of the production model. Unfortunately, this preview version is toned down to look like a traditional Lexus, as opposed to the hot concept that we all fell in love with. You can see the preview image after the jump.

With the secondary shows out of the way, we are all set to start looking ahead to the main stretch of auto shows that kick off next month in Frankfurt. It looks as if Lexus is all set too, as it is in full tease mode on its media site and on Facebook. Today, it teased a rather sexy-looking headlight that is underscored by a lighted check.
All that Lexus had to say about the concept it that it will "stage the world premiere of a new concept vehicle at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show (IAA)." This leads us to wonder is maybe — just maybe — this could be the RC F Coupe (AKA IS F Coupe) that we have seen testing in the last few months.
The chances of this being the RC Coupe or RC F are slim, considering just how futuristic looking that headlight is. With all of the times that we have seen the RC F (IS F Coupe) out testing, we assume the design process is well beyond this too-advanced-for-production styling. But it could be a wildly designed concept to throw us off the scent a little.
We’ll just take a wait-and-see approach instead of wildly speculating, but we will admit that this image is rather intriguing.

It’s only been a few weeks since Lexus unveiled the new generation Lexus GS350, and now they are rounding up the crowd again with the debut of the GS 450h at the Frankfurt Motor Show. A relatively young model on the market - it was first unveiled in 2007 - the GS 450H is now the world’s first premium performance sedan to be equipped with a V6 Atkinson cycle gas engine and two-motor hybrid system.
The hybrid system combines an Atkinson cycle 3.5-liter V6 engine with a two-motor hybrid system in a front-engine/rear-wheel drive configuration. They both deliver a total of 338 HP and will sprint the GS 450h from 0 to 60 mph in 5.6 seconds. Fuel economy has also been improved by 30%. The model will be equipped with a Drive Mode selector that will allow the driver to choose between Eco, Sport S, Sport S+ and EV modes.

Lexus has been rolling out their new fleet of vehicles over the past couple of weeks, highlighted by the presentation of the 2013 GS 350 at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. You would think that after what’s been a busy two weeks, Toyota’s premium brand would be slowing down a bit to catch their breaths.
The Japanese automaker is now gearing up for the world debuts of two new vehicles, the GS F-Sport and GS 450h.
No word yet as to what these cars will bring when the covers are pulled off, but all indications are that the GS 450h will be making its world presentation at the Frankfurt Motor Show next month. Among other things, the GS 450h will carry a hybrid powertrain that features a V6 engine combined with an electric motor.
Meanwhile, the GS F-Sport will carry plenty of aerodynamic accessories, not the least of which include a redesigned front bumper and judging from the teaser photo, a honeycomb grille and a new set of alloy wheels to go with a new suspension set-up.
Though it’s possible that we’re going to see the GS F-Sport alongside the GS450h in Frankfurt, don’t be surprised if Lexus keeps the former under the covers for now with an eye towards the 2011 SEMA show in Las Vegas.
At the rate they’re going, it’s probably best for these guys to bring one up at a time. SEMA’s scheduled for November anyway and after the month they’ve had and the busy September coming up, these guys have every right in the world to keep the GS F-Sport behind the curtains until then.
The Japanese luxury automaker Lexus is planning on unveiling the 2010 LS600h, in both standard and extended wheelbase version at the Frankfurt Motor Show.
The luxury hybrid LS600h features a new four bar grille and restyled front bumper with redesigned air intakes and foglamps. The headlamps have a new running light design and are finished in Lexus hybrid blue, giving the car a distinctive appearance befitting its flagship status.
The Lexus Hybrid Drive system has been revised to meet Euro V exhaust emissions standards, but with no change to the car’s performance: the combination of the 5.0-litre V8 petrol engine and 165kW electric motor produces a maximum 439bhp and 520Nm of torque, giving nought to 62mph acceleration in 6.3 seconds.

The Japanese luxury automaker Lexus will unveil the F-Sport package for the 2010 Lexus IS lineup at the Fankfurt Motor Show. Although the F-Sport package won’t transform your everyday IS 250 in the V8 powered IS-F super sedan, it does add a tasteful upgrade to the standard car’s aesthetics adding a few simple additions that go a long way to make both the diesel and gas powered versions a bit more sporty.
The kit includes an IS-F type radiator grill with its wavy metal face and a subtle rear spoiler that barely pokes out above the car’s deck lid. Although you don’t get the bulging fenders of the high horsepower model, you do get a nice set of exclusive 18 inch wheels to finish off the package. Lexus will the F-Sport performance package for all versions of the IS sedan, offering color matched parts straight from the factory, including the new Cattleya Purple.
The Lexus F-Sport interior is made up of a highly bolstered set of leather wrapped IS-F inspired bucket seats as well as the steering wheel and automatic gear shift lever from the super sedan complete with tasteful grey stitching. Even the IS-F’s bespoke, black on black color scheme carries over with a black headliner to match the rest of the interior.

The Japanese luxury automaker Lexus is planning to unveil the all new LF-Ch compact hybrid hatchback at the Frankfurt Motor Show next week, the LF-Ch will compete head to head with other luxury compact models like the BMW 1 Series and the Audi A3. However what sets the Lexus apart from the crowd is that the production version will be offered exclusively as a hybrid.
The Lexus LF-Ch combines stylish design cues with full hybrid technology in a practical 5 door compact package that should perfectly fulfill the needs of even the most demanding premium compact customers. The LF-Ch will feature a bolder Lexus grille that sits atop a deep, bulging front bumper complete with a trio of intakes giving it a perfect balance of both precision and power. The sharply sculpted, aerodynamic front fenders flow into the front bumper to create a wide set of arches and a deep set of brake cooling ducts that give the LF-Ch a powerful and purposeful stance.
The LF-Ch benefits from having an electric vehicle mode, a key aspect of the Lexus hybrid drive train, allowing the luxury hatch to operate as a zero emissions vehicle and allow for a virtually silent urban driving experience.

The Japanese luxury brand, has just released the first teaser image of the upcoming Lexus LF Ch compact hybrid hatchback that will compete head to head with the BMW 1 Series and other high end compacts when it makes an official debut later on this month at the Frankfurt Motor Show along with the Toyota Auris HSD concept. While we welcome the addition of the Lexus hatchback in the States, we remain skeptical as to how the car is going to perform in this part of the world, especially when you consider that hatchback cars aren’t necessarily in demand in the U.S. these days. Nevertheless, Lexus is pushing through with their plans in hopes that their new car can give the Audi A3 a run for its money.
Despite the Japanese automaker’s conviction for rear wheel drive vehicles, it appears that the Lexus LF Ch concept will be offered as a front wheel drive model and will be power by a hybrid system and will be able to run in electric only mode. However there is also talk of a hybrid powered version. It could be that the compact cruiser will be offered exclusively as a green car, powered by a 2.4 Liter four cylinder engine that, with the help of an electric motor, is set to produce a maximum output of 187 HP in the LF Ch concept.
It’s not the first time that we have heard that Lexus has plans for aBMW 1-Series competitor, but today the luxury automaker has just come out with new details about the car. According to the automotive journal, AutoCar, the new Lexus hatchback will be built on the same platform as the HS250h and will make its official debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September.
Even if the Japanese manufacturer hasn’t revealed the car’s official name, we expect to see a combination of "BS" or "CS" in the title. The future compact Lexus will be a gas-electric hybrid-only model powered by a 2.4 Liter four cylinder engine that, with the help of an electric motor, is set to produce 187 HP, not too shabby for a hybrid.
According to an AutoCar insider: "The Frankfurt concept is called C-Premium. It’s a 90% match for the real thing, which we’ll see at Geneva next year. It should be on sale in the UK by Autumn 2010."
The Lexus GS 450h, first introduced in April 2006 as a 2007 model, remains the only hybrid-powered performance luxury sport sedan in its segment. Based on the new-generation GS platform and featuring Lexus Hybrid Drive technology, the GS 450h offers V8-like performance with greater fuel efficiency.
Lexus has introduced the newest version of its GS luxury sport sedan range for 2008, the GS 460 with a new 342-horsepower 4.6-liter V8 and eight-speed automatic transmission. The GS 460 replaces the GS 430, providing more power and performance yet with similar fuel efficiency. Revised exterior styling details and enhanced interior luxury mark the GS range for 2008, which also includes the V6-powered GS 350 model and the only hybrid gasoline-electric in its segment, the GS 450h.
If you haven’t noticed by now, Frankfurt will be one of the greatest events of the year. Do you remember the number of the new models that will be unveiled in here? We lost count long time ago. And to that impressive number, Lexus will also add a few models. One of them is the 2008 GS 450h.
