2021 Lexus LC 500 Inspiration
The 2021 Lexus LC 500 Inspiration is a special edition sports coupé that doesn’t give you much of a choice in terms of available colors. It’s only available in black, and it’s dripping in black from nose to tail. We didn’t know Lexus was capable of making the LC 500 look cooler than it already is, but here we are. The 2021 Lexus LC 500 Inspiration is the embodiment of stealthy aggression, and we’re all for it.
2021 Lexus LC Convertible Regatta Edition
Lexus is turning to the open seas as the inspiration behind its latest special edition model. Evoking the ambiance of a luxury marina — Lexus’ words, not mine — the Toyota-owned luxury brand is commemorating the opening of orders for the new LC Convertible by rolling out a special edition LC droptop called the Regatta Edition.
Dressed to impress, the LC Convertible Regatta Edition’s theme has roots to the origin story of the LC’s design, which Lexus described as being inspired by ocean-going yachts. It’s a saucy piece, for sure, but sadly, access to the LC Regatta Edition is going to be very difficult. Lexus didn’t say how many units of the LC Regatta Edition it plans to build, but allocations in the U.K. and Europe have completely dried up. No word yet on how many units are headed to America, or if they’re still available, to begin with.
2021 Lexus LC500 Convertible
Freshly launched at the 2019 Los Angeles Auto Show, the Lexus LC500 Convertible borrows every stunning feature from its Coupe brother and then adds some more appeal courtesy of a retractable textile roof.
The LC500 Convertible still packs the naturally-aspirated, 471-horsepower V-8, however, a hybrid version hasn’t been announced yet. Join us as we explore the new LC500 Convertible in-depth, to see what’s new for the sleek cabriolet.
2019 Lexus LC 500 Inspiration Series
The Lexus LC 500 is the Japanese brand’s latest and greatest grand tourer halo car, offered as a sharp, muscle-bound sports machine that acts as the spiritual successor to the high-tech Lexus LFA. First rolling off the production line in March of 2017, the Lexus is keeping the LC 500 fresh with a new Inspiration Series version, blessing the two-door with unique aesthetic treatments inside and out, highlighted by a bright yellow color scheme.

2019 Lexus LC Convertible Concept
The Lexus LC Convertible is a concept vehicle that the luxury firm unveiled at the 2019 Detroit Auto Show. But while it’s presented as a concept, it’s actually a drop-top version of the LC coupe that Lexus introduced for the 2018 model year.
Devoid of any features that would make it a proper concept, the LC Convertible likely previews a production model. The drop-top LC has been rumored ever since the coupe arrived and would enable Lexus to offer a competitor for the Mercedes-Benz S-Class Cabriolet. Although the Japanese firm didn’t specifically confirm a production car, it did say that a production version "would be exhilarating in many different ways." Let’s find out what sets it apart from the coupe.
2018 Lexus LC500 Inspiration Concept
Lexus is an official sponsor at this year’s Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, and it’s using its platform to unveil the LC Inspiration Series Concept. According to Lexus, the one-off LC500 represents the ultimate expression of the flagship coupé. As such, it features plenty of exclusive upgrades in the exterior and interior that looks similar to the ones worn by the LC500 Yellow Edition, a limited-run version of the coupé that Lexus launched in Europe earlier this month.

2019 Lexus LC Yellow Edition
On its own, the Lexus LC 500 is a flamboyant car. The unmistakable styling cues give it a look that’s all its own, and its 471-horsepower V-8 engine helps it straddle the line between a capable touring car and an everyday supercar. But just as the LC 500 already has its own identity, there are still ways to bring out even more of its personality. That’s what we get with the LC 500 Yellow Edition, the latest in a long line of exclusive additions to the flagship coupe’s range.
2020 Lexus LC F
After more than two years of constant teasing and two concept cars, Lexus unveiled a new 2+2 coupe at the 2016 Detroit Auto Show. Dubbed LC500, the new coupe is stunning to look at, has a luxurious interior, and comes with a stout, naturally aspirated V-8 powerplant. Come 2018 and the Japanese firm is working on a beefed-up version with an "F" badge.
Despite having two extra seats and missing a V-10 powerplant, the LC500 is already being considered a successor to the mighty LFA. Granted, the two have very little in common as far as underpinnings go, but I can totally understand why Lexus enthusiasts are comparing it to the LFA. The LC500 has a strong presence, a low-slung stance, and it blends luxury and sportiness under the same roof. It’s nowhere near as powerful as the LFA, but what if Lexus is planning to release a more potent version later on? These new spy shots suggest that we may soon be able to buy an LC F model with more power and a more aggressive exterior.

2018 Lexus LC500 - Driven
It was in 2012 when Lexus pulled the covers off its LF-LC concept car at the Detroit Auto Show. The concept boasted curvy lines, massive rear haunches, a big Spindle Grille, those signature fishhook LED daytime running lights, and a nose almost as long as Michael Keaton’s Batmobile. Somehow Lexus managed to keep the concept’s sultry lines almost completely intact for production. The final result is this, the 2018 Lexus LC500.
I spent a week behind its wheel, doing everything from blasting down the Interstate to picking up the kiddos in the carpool line. It fetched groceries and drew crowds in nearly equal amounts. It also fostered a love/hate relationship in my view. I’ll explain below.

2017 Lexus LC 500 Inspired By Black Panther
As one of the most powerful and influential people in the Marvel Universe, you would think that Wakandan king T’Challa would have no problem procuring some of the most exotic supercars in the world. A Bugatti Chiron perhaps? Maybe a Koenigsegg Regera? But, the man who also is known as the Black Panther is far from a flashy fellow - his costume’s all-black! - so he’s probably not into the flaunting-his-wealth lifestyle that his colleague Tony Stark seems to be obsessed with. It’s also likely to be one of the reasons why he’s more than comfortable being spotted in a Lexus LC, and as fate - or marketing - would have it, we’re going to see exactly that at the 2017 SEMA Auto Show when Lexus brings a heavily dressed LC 500 dripping in Black Panther regalia.
For the record, Lexus actually created two LC 500 models for the promotion of the Black Panther movie. One of them is called the Lexus LC Inspiration Series. It’s more subdued than the other, owing to it being a special edition release that will be limited to just 100 units. The other unit, called the Black Panther Inspired LC, is a complete one-off and is not for sale. It’s also dripping in Wakandan technology, which isn’t a real thing to begin with, but awesome to imagine nevertheless. Hard to imagine Lexus suddenly getting resources from a fictional kingdom that gives them access to self-healing paint and vibranium-powered core indicator nodes, but you get the point. If you’re excited about getting the special edition unit that will be on sale, you might want to be on the look-out for when Lexus actually offers it up to the public. There’s not that many, to begin with, and considering the popularity of the Marvel Universe in this day and age, there’s a good chance all 100 units will be scooped up faster than it takes T’Challa to put on his Black Panther costume.

2018 Lexus LC Structural Blue Edition
To what extent does a paint job become more important than the car itself? It’s a fascinating question if you frame it the right way and, in the case of the Lexus LC Structural Blue Edition, the paint job is the defining feature. Now, we’ve seen some automakers make bold claims about the lengths they go to in the name of exclusivity, but what Lexus went through to successfully create what it calls the “Structural Blue” paint finish is over and above everything we’ve seen in the industry in quite some time.
The patience and commitment that took place in Lexus to really perfect this specific shade of blue is why a lot of people are talking about it more than the actual special edition car itself. There’s a good reason for that because the process involved in creating this shade not only takes a ridiculous amount of time but also involves processes and exact specification requirements that are hard to believe. But hey, the price of all that research and development is something that no other automaker can boast. Lexus’ Structural Blue paint finish, which first made headlines at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show, is now a real thing, and it’s arrived in the form of a special edition Lexus LC that fittingly bears its name.

The Lexus LF-LC originally debuted at the 2012 North American International Auto Show in Detroit, and since then, Lexus debuted the LF-LC Concept 2. Later in 2015, we got our hands on some spy photos of the LF-LC testing under camo in production form. It has been few years of constant teasing, but Lexus has finally unveiled the Lexus LC500 – the production variant of the LF-LC that we’ve been waiting for.
As you can see from a quick look, the LC500 isn’t all that different from the previous LF-LC concepts that we’ve seen. It is still the same low-sitting, dramatically styled coupe that will probably prove to be the best thing to come out of Lexus in a long time. With its unveiling, we’ve learned a lot about the 2+2 coupe that promises to be the future of Lexus, and to be honest, I can’t wait to see it on the street.
Akio Toyoda, a Master Driver and Chief Brand Officer for Lexus, said, “The LC 500 has been an important product for Lexus and me personally. A few years ago, we decided to guide the future of the brand with products that had more passion and distinction in the luxury market. This flagship luxury coupe’s proportions, stunning design and performance make a strong statement about our brand’s emotional direction and will grow the Lexus luxury appeal globally.”
Of course, it’s not like you’ll see one at every corner. We’re not aware of pricing yet, but given the dramatic design and the details at hand, the car is sure to be reserved for those of the wealthier population. With that said, let’s take a look at Lexus’ new flagship luxury coupe and all the greatness that is Lexus LC500.

2016 Lexus LC 500 by Gordon Ting/Beyond Marketing
The first time for anything is always tricky because there’s no precedent to compare it to. For some, that might be a challenge, but for others, it’s an opportunity to set the bar high. Take what you will from that, but it’s important to remember that in the course of 10 months since the Lexus LF C broke cover at the 2016 Detroit Auto Show, the sports car has yet to be customized in an aftermarket setting. Well, that all changed at the 2016 SEMA Auto Show when Gordon Ting/Beyond Marketing presented the very first custom project for the LF C.
It seems appropriate that Gordon Ting/Beyond Marketing was the first to do it. After all, this is the same tuner that presented a tuning program for the GS F during last year’s SEMA show. It’s worth noting too that this kit for the LF C is far more comprehensive than the mostly cosmetic work done on the GS F a year ago. This program has it all; it’s got exterior upgrades, interior refinements, and engine modifications. The tuner even worked on the coupe’s suspension and added a new set of wheels and tires for good measure.
Gordon Ting/Beyond Marketing indicated that it wanted to give the LF C a race-inspired look and feel to it and to that extent, it’s hard to argue with the results. Sure, it got some help from a number of collaborators, but in the end, we’ll remember this program – the first custom program for the LF C – as the work of Gordon Ting/Beyond Marketing.
That in itself is not a surprise, as is the distinction that comes with being the first tuner to present a program for the Lexus LF C.

2017 Lexus LC500 Super GT500
The Lexus LC500 arrived at the 2016 Detroit Auto Show before taking its place as the company’s range-topping coupe. Downright gorgeous to look at and offered with a powerful V-8 engine and a hybrid drivetrain, the LC500 slots above the RC, filling a void that Lexus had in its lineup ever since the LFA was discontinued in 2012. For 2017, the big coupe is also set to replace the RC F in the Super GT, Japan’s famous grand touring racing series.
Although it came out of the blue and was a well kept secret since its inception, the race-spec LC500 isn’t exactly a surprise. Sure, the vehicle is larger than the RC F and its luxury-oriented purpose on the road doesn’t recommend it for track use, but Toyota’s racing department has made conversions like that in the past. The LFA is obviously the best example.
So why is Lexus replacing the RC F in the GT500 class of the Super GT series? Well, the Japanese firm has yet to release a statement, but likely Gazoo Racing has developed a better package for the LC500 and thinks that the larger coupe stands a better chance against the Nissan GT-R. In case you’re not familiar with the Super GT series, Nissan has won every championship since 2011 — except for the 2013 season, won by Lexus — and is about to win the ongoing battle too.
We don’t know much about the race-spec LC500 for now, but the coupe will make its racing debut in 2017 and testing will begin starting September 2016. Until Lexus releases some official data, let’s find out more about it in the review below.

2018 Lexus LC GT3
Lexus has loads of experience in the world of GT3 racing. Most recently, the Japanese manufacturer backed track-prepped derivatives of the SC430 for its homegrown SuperGT series, as well as a GTE-spec variant of the LFA. Lexus’ latest effort is the RC F GT3 racecar, which launched as an integral part of the automaker’s motorsports program going into 2016. Realistically, the RC F has a good deal of development ahead of it before its ready to go for a title shot, but regardless, there’s still a chance we may see another GT3 racer out of Lexus sometime in the future. Why? Simple – there’s a new flagship on the block. It’s called the LC 500, and it’s a sports coupe instilled with Lexus’ sporting intentions front to back, making it a prime candidate for racing glory.
If Lexus does decide to move forward with a competition-ready LC GT3 racer, it’ll probably see action at events like the 24 Hours Nurburgring and benefit from the support of go-faster wizards from Gazoo Racing. But what’ll it look like, both on the outside and under the skin?

2017 Lexus LC 500h
It’s been a little more than two months since we entered a new calendar year and Toyota is arguably the busiest automaker out there. On one hand it decided to axe the Scion sub-brand, while on the other hand, it is working on an expansion program for the Lexus division, which received a brand-new member at the 2016 Detroit Auto Show. It is called the LC 500 — it’s drop dead gorgeous, and sports the RC-F’s naturally aspirated V-8 under the hood. We’ve already speculated about the possibility of getting an LC F and LC 500 Convertible in the coming years, and Lexus has just announced that the luxury coupe will go hybrid.
The first derivative of the LC 500 family will break cover at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show and, unsurprisingly, will be sold as the LC 500h. The new vehicle will expand Lexus’ hybrid lineup to seven nameplates, but more importantly, it will become the company’s first two-door with a blue badge on its nose.
The two-door hybrid, which is also based on the LF-LC concept., will debut alongside the LF-FC study, which made its first appearance at the Tokyo Motor Show in 2015. The LC 500h will break cover on March 1st, so make sure you stick around for the full rundown and live photos from Geneva. 2018 Lexus LC Convertible
The 2020 Lexus LC Convertible is a drop-top version of the company’s range-topping coupe. Initially just a rumor, the 2020 LC Convertible was recently confirmed for production when car paparazzi started spotting test cars being driven on public roads. As these photos suggest, the 2020 LC Convertible will be identical to the coupe below the waist, inside the cabin, and under the hood. The 2020 LC Convertible arrives more than two years after Lexus launched the coupe. That’s a long wait, but the Japanese automaker finally has a competitor for the BMW 8 Series Convertible and the Mercedes-Benz S-Class Cabriolet. Better late than never!
