2020 Lexus RC F Track Edition
The Lexus RC F Track Edition is track-prepped version of the company’s compact coupe. It was unveiled at the 2019 Detroit Auto Show alongside the updated RC F, so it benefits form all the add-ons introduced with the facelift.
Although it doesn’t feature a more powerful engine, the Track Edition is more dynamic thanks to a handful of aerodynamic tweaks and weight-saving measures. Lexus promises quicker lap times in this vehicle, which is aimed at German track cars such as the BMW M4 GTS. Spotted testing since early 2018, this coupe was originally believed to feature a "GT" badge, but Lexus eventually went with Track Edition. Despite the name that suggests a special-edition model, the Track Edition is a proper upgrade that sets it apart from the standard RC F. Let’s find out more about it below.
2022 Lexus LFA Successor
Lexus was seen this week testing a modified LFA with the Nurburgring package right at the fabled German circuit, and it got us intrigued. It’s been six years since the last LFA rolled off the production line, so could Lexus prepare for a replacement despite claims they aren’t looking at this possibility?
The original LFA, launched after much lament and almost a whole decade in the works, back in 2010 is a sort of a flawed genius. Originally criticized for its lumpy gearbox and somewhat underpowered V-10 engine, it ultimately grew on and won over some of its most fierce critics due to its special charisma. It was a refined supercar with build quality that rivaled and maybe surpassed that of the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren and with an engine that sounded as good as any Italian thoroughbred.
Now, six years on, we know from a couple of years ago that the message that was conveyed by the LFA has endured and that Lexus might not be looking at building a replacement for it in the next few years. But what if they are? Yoshihiro Sawa hinted during his visit this year at the Goodwood Festival Of Speed that “a pure F GT car, which could be a hybrid with an electric motor and a strong engine” is on the cards. What if he’s not only referring to an LC F but to something more?

2020 Lexus LC F
After more than two years of constant teasing and two concept cars, Lexus unveiled a new 2+2 coupe at the 2016 Detroit Auto Show. Dubbed LC500, the new coupe is stunning to look at, has a luxurious interior, and comes with a stout, naturally aspirated V-8 powerplant. Come 2018 and the Japanese firm is working on a beefed-up version with an "F" badge.
Despite having two extra seats and missing a V-10 powerplant, the LC500 is already being considered a successor to the mighty LFA. Granted, the two have very little in common as far as underpinnings go, but I can totally understand why Lexus enthusiasts are comparing it to the LFA. The LC500 has a strong presence, a low-slung stance, and it blends luxury and sportiness under the same roof. It’s nowhere near as powerful as the LFA, but what if Lexus is planning to release a more potent version later on? These new spy shots suggest that we may soon be able to buy an LC F model with more power and a more aggressive exterior.

2019 Lexus RC F Sport
The updated Lexus RC F was recently caught testing at the Nurburgring with the bottom half of its body wrapped in camouflage. The upper half was displayed for all of us to see, but Lexus still did a pretty good job to mask the changes it made to the performance sedan. We do get a good look at some of the changes, but for the most part, the updated RC F is hiding some of the good stuff away from us. That’s not going to stop us from putting our detective hats on, though, because this is one car that we’ve been waiting a long time to see.
2019 Lexus LS F
The latest-generation Lexus LS was unveiled in early 2017, replacing a predecessor that was no less than 11 years old and quite dated compared to the Mercedes-Benz S-Class and the BMW 7 Series. Redesigned from a clean sheet and gifted with a sporty, youthful exterior and loads of new tech inside, the fifth-gen LS also brought major changes under the hood, with the 5.0-liter V-8 engine replaced by a twin-turbo, 3.5-liter V-6. The same unit was combined with an electric motor to spawn the LS 500h, but it has yet to be used in a more powerful version, with the F Sport being just an appearance package. This is likely to change in the future, as our paparazzi spotted a full fledged LS F on public roads.
Although the LS has been around since 1990 and it’s one of the most successful full-size sedans built in Asia, it has yet to receive a proper performance update. There have been some special-edition models with sportier looks, but for some reason Lexus said no to a beefed-up drivetrain with each generation. But it seems that the fifth-generation will finally get the performance version it deserves, enabling the LS to finally compete with the likes of the Mercedes-AMG S63, BMW M760i xDrive and upcoming, much-rumored BMW M7 and Audi RS8. For a while now, rumors have been circulating, and it seems as if the Lexus GS may find itself on the guillotine at the end of the fourth and current generation. That generation has been around since 2011 and was just updated in 2015, however, the GS has had some seriously insignificant sales, which is probably why rumors seem to point toward the ES taking the GS’s place in as the mid-sized executive box on wheels. And, considering Lexus sells roughly 10 times more ES than GS models, the rumors make sense. However, we’re now looking at some spy shots that point to those rumors being wrong. We’re guessing the model you see here is the new GS, but it could also be the next-gen ES as it’s currently about time for a generational shift as well. Either way, there is something fresh coming to Lexus’ stable soon, and if it is the GS, rumor has it that the next-gen GS F will get a 4.0-liter, twin-turbo V-8 that’s good for some 590 ponies and 500 pound-feet of torque.
With that said, the spy shots show a fairly revised model regardless of what it really is, but we don’t know much else about it at this point. It is clearly a hybrid, as the yellow tape on the back window is a safety requirement for hybrids testing on the Nürburgring. Potential debut dates, based on the current life cycle of both the ES and GS, point to a late 2018 debut with the potential to be a 2019 model with 2020 seeming more feasible. So, we should be learning more about what’s lurking under the camo in the somewhat near future. But, until then, we’re going to assume this is a next-gen GS, so let’s take a better look and talk some more about it.
For the second time in consecutive days, our spy shooters managed to catch this Lexus performance coupe out and about. There is a little confusion as to whether this is a production version of the RC F that Lexus filed a patent for earlier this year or a 2015 IS F Coupe.
Regardless of its name, it is very clear by the images that Lexus test drivers were pushing this coupe hard, which is evident by the amount of body lean the sporty coupe shows in the corner. There are no new details reveled in these new spy shots, but they are confirmation that the model is nearing production and is undergoing some intense training.
The powerplant driving the IS F is still a relative mystery, but rumors are pointing toward the deletion of the 5.0-liter V-8. The likely replacement would be a twin-turbocharged V-6 engine with power reaching nearly 450 horsepower. This would put it right in line with its key competitor: the BMW M4.
Whether its named the RC F or IS F Coupe is up for argument, but what’s not up for debate is just how bad-ass this new coupe will be...

The Nurburgring has been pretty crowded with supercars in the past week with the Mercedes SLS Black Edition and the Audi R8 GT making their testing appearances on the "Green Hell." Now, a new hardcore Lexus LF-A has also been caught testing at the track. Joining the previous AD-A and AD-B prototypes spotted, the new AD-X looks like an even more track-focused version of the LFA!
At first glance, anyone would believe that this is just a regular LF-A Nurburgring Edition, but a closer look would reveal some significant changes. While the first two prototypes used a blue-carbon fiber combination and a green finish with carbon fiber, this prototype’s color reminds us of the classic Porsche 911 Carrera RS.
Other changes include the carbon fiber roof, pillars, and spoiler, as well as the front air splitter which is much more pronounced, sticking out quite a bit further than the splitter we’ve seen on the LF-A Nurburgring Edition.
Since a standard LF-A delivers 552 HP out of its V10 engine, it is very probable that this model will get an increased output of up to 600 HP.
Excited yet? Well, hold your horses because the Lexus LF-A AD-X Special Edition will only be produced as a one-off.
Shortly after Lexus released the IS-F sedan on the market, people began talking about a possible IS-F convertible version. Unfortunately, that was back in 2009 and all of us have yet to see a convertible in action...until now. Our spy photographers have captured the IS-F Convertible during some quick laps on the famous Nürburgring.
True to coupe/convertible traits, the convertible version will borrow all of the design elements from the sedan version. It will get the same new front bumper, quad exhaust pipes set up, wider wheel arches, and wheels. The prototype also shows a huge rear wing, but we strongly hope Lexus has only placed it there for aerodynamic reasons while testing and that it doesn’t find its way into the production version.
There will also be a more powerful engine underneath the hood. Expect to see the same 5.0 liter V8 engine to deliver at least the same as in the sedan: an impressive 416 HP!
Expect to see the new Lexus IS-F launched sometime in 2013 and yes, the upcoming BMW M3 (oops M4) Convertible will have plenty of reasons to fear their place on the market!
After being revealed back in 1991, the Lexus GS will be entering its fourth generation by the end of 2011 or early 2012.
The new generation Lexus GS, which was officially introduced at the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, will be built on a brand new platform, making it sportier and more efficient than the previous model. Under the hood, expect to see the same direct-injected 3.5-liter V6 engine that delivers a total of 306 horsepower at 6,200 rpm and 277 lb.-ft. of peak torque at 3,600 rpm. The real star of the show will be the 5.0-liter V8 engine with an output of about 450 horsepower found in the GS-F version.
According to Lexus "the fourth-generation GS model introduces a more defined and emotional design philosophy featuring a new distinctive front grille and styling cues that will soon be seen on all future Lexus vehicles. The new GS has also been engineered to provide a more engaging and dynamic driving experience and the highest levels of refinement."
UPDATE 12/22/2011: Lexus has announced prices for the 2013 GS 350 arriving in dealerships in early February 2012. The GS350 will be offered in rear-wheel drive (RWD) with a base MSRP of $46,900 or all-wheel drive (AWD) with a base MSRP of $49,450. An F SPORT Sport S+ mode adds another $5,690 and an optional navigation system adds $1,735.
UPDATE 01/24/2012: On January 6th, Lexus asked their Facebook fans which feature of the all-new GS they would like to learn more about. They voted, and today the company has unveiled a video about the car’s performance enhancements, based directly on the majority of votes. Enjoy!

That seemingly souped up Lexus LS that has been spotted lapping the Nurburgring these past few weeks now has a name, as well as some juicy details, thanks to a spied spec sheet. The Lexus LS-F has now been christened the TMG Edition, giving props to the company’s motorsports division, Toyota Motorsport GmbH. It’s hyped up engine and scorching numbers will come to fruition when the vehicle debuts at the 2011 Tokyo Auto Show in December.
According to the spied spec sheet, the Lexus LS-F TMG Edition will be powered by 5.0 L engine - quite possibly a higher displacement version of theLF-A’s V10 or a turbocharged version of the IS-F’s 5.0L V8. Whatever the engine, the LS-F will be pumping out 478 kW (650 PS, 641 HP) and 710 Nm of torque (523 lb-ft). Performance numbers are also listed as a 0-62 mph sprint of 4.2 seconds and a top speed of 320 km/h (199 mph).
So why an F version for the Lexus LS? Well, Lexus has been making some aggressive moves towards targeting the sportier models of its main competitors, competitors that have long mastered the combination of luxury and extreme performance - AKA BMW. This new Lexus LS-F TMG Edition looks like it could be a welcome player in the game.

Lexus is preparing a new installment of its top of the range off-roader. With a new sleek design and upgraded technology, the new LX will be prepared to take on the new Mercedes-Benz GL-Class, or on to the “king of the hill”, the British Range Rover. Closely related to the upcoming Toyota Landcruiser, the next generation Lexus LX is expected as a 2008 year model.
Lexus is rumored to add a performance model to the IS lineup with a coupe body style and sufficient enough performance to challenge the E90 BMW M3. The new 2006 IS 250 and IS 350 sport sedans are already highly appreciated on the US market and for the next NAIAS Detroit show Lexus is expected to showcase a production-close prototype of the future IS Coupe, due to hit the showrooms in 2008.
The US market has favorably received the remarkable new 2006 Lexus IS 250 and IS 350 sport sedans. But Lexus’s expansion of the IS range is not over, inside sources say that next January at 2007 NAIAS Detroit show, Lexus will show a concept vehicle to preview a new IS retractable hard-top cabrio and the production version is supposed to be available starting from 2008.
Toyota officials let slip in Tokyo that the LF-A is going to have a V10 engine, developed from the engines in Toyota’s F1 cars, which is thought to develop over 500bhp and give 200mph-plus capability. Although the engine is front- rather than mid-mounted, the LF-A will be rear-wheel drive, and Lexus has promised "the ultimate weight balance", "extravagant comfort" and "precision operation."
