Lotus has made no bones about its plans to one day tussle with the big boys of the auto industry. One way the company is looking into breaking ground is by promoting its illustrious racing history and inspiring some of their production sports cars with hints and touches of their racing pedigree. One such model is the recently introduced Evora S GP Edition.

Dressed in a black paint scheme with distinctive gold striping, red mirrors, and spanking gold wheels, the Evora S GP Edition is the latest in a slew of special edition Lotus sports cars the company has introduced in the past years. If the colors of the Evora S GP Edition look a little familiar to you, it’s because you’ve seen it in previous Lotus models, most specifically with the Evora Enduro GT Concept earlier this year and the Lotus Renault Formula One race car.

In addition to its striking colors, the Evora S GP Edition also comes equipped with a rearview camera, as well as Lotus’ premium and technology packages.

Under the hood of the Evora S GP Edition, you’ll find a 3.5-liter supercharged V6 engine that produces 350 horsepower and 295 lb/ft of torque. The performance numbers translate to a 0-60 mph time of 4.6 seconds and a top speed of 172 mph.

Only three units of the Evora S GP Edition will be made available, each priced at £69,950, which is $109,155 based on current exchange rates.

I am really confused on the typical engine that Lotus always used for their vehicles. Well, I understand that it is only there based output but the fact that their cars are more a sports vehicle, I think they should use a better and a real powerful engine.

I noticed that this one is too pricey, well it is absolutely looks so expensive on its abstract design, but I think it doesn’t give any justice on its poor engine.

Well, I think that they should have enhanced or boost the engine of this one first before putting on its debut and on the market. As for the looks, I have to agree with them that it is already stunning on that.

Where is Batman?? Kidding! I love the way this car has been designed. It is telling us that this car is of those toys for the big boys thing. Being one of the fastest car is just an extra features for me. smiley

I love the way this car is painted. The color combination makes it distinct and striking. The technology features are also incredible. But as a sports car, the engine might not be enough.

yeah! I agree on you James_Ingram, either v8, V10 and V12 can surely give a better performance of it, for the fact that these engines can deliver an impressive and powerful horsepower. Anyway, I love the angst and aggressiveness of this Evora.

I love the angst that was expressing by this Evora. The artistic design that it had is quite impressive on this one. Well, it is obviously a sports car, but I don’t think that the engine that it has, can give a better performance on it.

Wow! I’m impressed to this car. The combination of the color is really great and also the style and design. This car has 350 horse power and supercharged V6 engine. I think if this car has a V8 or V10 to V12 engine this is one of the fastest and strongest car. smiley

I like how this lotus Evora S GP dressed up, the black and gold scheme simply gets proportional to the ambiance of the car.
