Understandably so, the upcoming Frankfurt Motor Show has caught the attention of the entire industry. But for those that really pay attention to the calendar, another major auto event will take place this coming weekend that nobody should be sleeping on.

The 2011 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance.

One model that’s expected to be in attendance is the new Lotus Evora GTE Road Car Concept. The car was born out of the Evora GTE race program, the very same people behind the racing pedigree of the mid-engined, 2+2 sports car with races all over the world, including the legendary 24 Hours at Le Mans.

Complete details of the Evora GTE Concept won’t be unveiled until this weekend, but from what this photo is showing us, it looks us it’s been heavily modded with an aggressive front splitter to go with a U-shaped rear spoiler and a set of forged alloy wheels wrapped in Pirelli P-Zero Corsa tires. Meanwhile, the interior is said to carry plenty of leather and carbon fiber trims, as well as composite Recaro racing seats.

As for the engine, the concept car is said to carry a race-tuned 3.5-liter V6 engine that produces 420 horsepower and is mated to a sequential transmission.

That’s as much as we have for the Lotus Evora GTE Road Car Concept. Rest assured, we’ll have more details as soon as the car breaks cover at Pebble Beach later this week.

Kirby’s first exposure into the world of automobiles happened when he caught Knight Rider on television as a five-year old boy. David Hasselhoff didn’t leave much of an impression on him (that happened later on in Baywatch), but KITT certainly did. To this day, Kirby remains convinced that he will one day own a car with the same ‘spirit’ as the original KITT (not the 2008 monstrosity). He doesn't know when that will be, but until then, he’s committed to expressing his love for KITT, and all cars for that matter, here at TopSpeed.  Read full bio

The speed performance of the car is quite impressive for me. It’s a good thing that Lotus still have a continuous production for this one.

This road car is really beyond awesome on its platform and style! It was oozing with aggressiveness that every car lover would truly love. However, I’m absolutely disappointed on its engine.

A Road Car concept but its engine is still weak! Well, I think they should really give an extra focused on how to boost their engine. Anyway, I must say that it looks more attractive than on their other vehicle.

Lotus is really notorious with this kind of vehicle. It looks so aggressive and unique, but I only hope that they truly had a plan to put it on the market. Anyway, I’m glad that it is not an electric car.

Well, the engine of this one is quite impressive for it. I also noticed that its front design is so aggressive about it and its hygienic body paint is absolutely very striking and lovely.

I’m impressed with all the concept car here in Lotus, but I must say that I am always disappointed on their poor engine that their car always had. I just hope that they should focus first on the figure performance of their cars.

Naturally made outstanding car, with an aggressive overall look, from headlights, window, mirror, roof, bumper, totally amazing exterior and interior design. The color scheme perfectly combined to its silver black color. Evora GTE Edition stunningly appealing.

Its kind of impressive for the Lotus to produce a high speed performing like this. Its a good thing as well that it offer a better fuel economy.

I simply like the speed performance of the vehicle! The racing stripes adds to the aggressiveness of the car!

This kind of design is usually sports car or race car. The performance of this car is good because of 420 horsepower.

As far as I know. It will be on September. By the way, somebody told that it is a racing car, I think no. It is a special edition of a sports car, and we are not sure if Lotus will make its after-market version. It is still a concept.

I like the front portion of the car, but not it’s body.. It looks so congested inside.. Nothing really comes close with the speed performance of 2011 Hennessey Venom GT. It doesn’t even come half of the latter’s speed performance.

Wow, the speed performance of the car is quite impressive! The 2+2 sportscar offers of the Lotus. I really love the detailing of the car. I bet this vehicle would sell like hotcakes once out in the market.

What the hell! The newer face of the car is quite impressive. I love the sportiness of this vehicle. Plus, the power output of the v6 technology has an awesome power output! I want them to pursue this concept car.

Just after the Frankfurt Auto Show will be the Pebble Beach. I will mark my calendar not to forget this one. By the way, what will be the exact date of this event? Top Speed must now release that information because people will surely look for that.

Well, I wonder if that’s the actual design of the vehicle? And I was thinking if this is a racing car? The speed performance of the car is quite impressive for me. It’s a good thing that Lotus still have a continuous production for this one.

I don’t like the styling of the car especially the front. However, I was impressed with the power output of this vehicle. It seems that the carbon fiber material used in the car really helps to gain an awesome engine performance.
