We reckon Galpin Auto Sports needed a break from all those customized Ford vehicles they’re bringing to the 2011 SEMA Auto Show so they turned their attention towards a few sports cars from across the pond. One of these vehicles is a 2012 Lotus Evora, which GAS took the challenge of reinventing from a road-going sports car into a fully-dressed track-spec race car.

The result is the Evora R2R, a car that features plenty of aerodynamic upgrades, including a new front splitter, a new rear wing, new side skirts made from aluminum, black racing decals, racing seats dressed in fine Alcantara, and a new set of 19" (front) and 20" (rear) flat-back racing wheels.

To uphold its new race car identity, Galpin Auto Sports also added a new Flowmaster exhaust system, clearing way for the sports car’s 3.5-liter V6 engine to receive an increased output of 300 horsepower, up from the 280-horsepower output of the standard road-going roadster.

All told, Galpin Auto Sports accomplished what it always seems to do best. Impressive modifications all around are nothing new to these guys and they proved that yet again with the Lotus Evora R2R.

UPDATE 05/09/12: Galpin Auto Sports has released a new video of the Evora R2R, complete with a detailed look behind the history and development of the sports car. Galpin Lotus brand manager Stuart McIntosh narrates the whole thing so give it a watch!

This Galpin Auto was impressive. The design and color was very classy on its metallic concept. I’m quietly disappoint on its engine performance, very weak and mismatch to the prototype of this car.

It was truly oozing with angst and aggressiveness! Just too bad that it only has a weak V6 engine that has an output of 300 hp. I think Lotus should focus on how they could boost more its engine.

Yeah! It is really too bad that they don’t justify the fact that it is a sports vehicle. 300 hp is definitely not great neither good on this one. However, I must say that its exterior appearance truly caught my attention.

I think Lotus needs to focus more on how they can boost the engine that they were using for their vehicle, most especially on a sports car like this. Anyway, I must say that I’m already satisfied with the angst of its exterior.

I have to agree to that. Evora is really oozing with angst and so striking with its aggressiveness but when it comes into speed performance, it is really very disappointing for the fact that it is a sports car.

I love the abstract design of this Evrora. It looks so stunning and awesome on that look! However, I don’t think that its engine could be truly good enough on this sports car.

Evora is truly very attractive on its aggressive appearance, but just like them I don’t think that its engine is quite good enough for a sports car! I think they should boost it more.

This Evora is truly very striking on its fully dressed appearance, but I think it is better if they didn’t add a gull-wing on its back. Anyway, for a sports car, I’m too disappointed on its engine.

Its V6 engine that can only deliver a 300 horsepower is really don’t suit for this aggressive sports car, and that’s really a big disappointment for them. Anyway, the exterior looks are truly so striking.

I love the fully dressed track-spec on this race car! The flat black racing wheels on it, is also looking so awesome and very striking on this one. This one was obviously oozing with angst.

They should really focus more on how they boost the engine of their cars most especially on a race car like this, so that it can truly contest the speed performance of the other sports car.

It is obviously oozing with angst and aggressiveness on its design, but the fact that it is a sport or a race car, I am expecting also that it would have a powerful engine and to be honest the engine specifications of it, really disappoints me.

Wow! This new model of Lotus Evora is absolutely spectacular! I love the angst and aggressiveness of this one and the wheels of it, is looking so cool! However, I’m too disappointed on its engine. It didn’t really fit for a sports car.
