Here's That Video of the Tesla Model S Tearing Up Laguna Seca - Is Another Record Attempt Coming?

Here’s That Video of the Tesla Model S Tearing Up Laguna Seca - Is Another Record Attempt Coming?

There’s nothing official about the Laguna Seca lap time, but that could change in the future

Tesla’s back making claims again, only this time, the California-based electric car maker is planting its flag at Laguna Seca after claiming the four-door lap record around the race track with a time of 1:36.6. While the lap time is impressive, it doesn’t hold much weight in the eyes of the public, largely because it wasn’t set during a sanctioned event and in the presence of an officiating body that would validate the lap time.

That said, Tesla’s decision to go to Laguna Seca to set a lap time, not to mention sightings of a different Model S at the Nurburgring, has people asking if these sightings are precursors to real sanctioned time laps in the future. Knowing Elon Musk, don’t discount that from actually happening.

The Audi RS6 Avant - A Video History

The Audi RS6 Avant - A Video History

It wasn’t easy for Audi to keep the RS6 Avant alive, but it somehow pulled it off

It August 2019 when, while looking for hot stuff to write, the undersigned stumbled upon Audi USA’s newsroom website, where the first article on the top of the page said, in Caps Lock: ALL-NEW AUDI RS6 AVANT IS COMING TO AMERICA!

Why the yelling, you’re wondering? Well, Audi’s RS history spans over a quarter of a century, and it is only now that the U.S. gets the RS6 Avant for the first time. Now, the 2020 Audi RS6 Avant is an absolute monster regardless of how you look at it - design or spec-wise. Its 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V-8 engine makes 591 horsepower (441 kW) and 590 pound-feet of torque (800 Nm). On asphalt, these numbers generate 0-62 mph (100 km/h) sprints ticked in 3.6 seconds and electronic nanny-restricted top speeds of 155 mph (250 km/h).

Also responsible for such crisp performances is the eight-speed Tiptronic transmission with launch control mode and Audi’s notorious Quattro permanent all-wheel drive complemented by wheel-selective torque control and a sport differential. You get the point - beastly specs for a beastly machine. But beastliness has been embedded in the RS6 Avant’s DNA since the model’s inception back in 2002, as you are about to find out.

A 2020 Land Rover Defender Pickup Truck? We Say “Yes, Please, With Sugar on Top”

A 2020 Land Rover Defender Pickup Truck? We Say “Yes, Please, With Sugar on Top”

Despite the desire, Land Rover just won’t make the Defender Pickup

Now that the new 2020 Land Rover Defender has graced this pretty planet of ours after a three-year hiatus, all is right once again. So far, we’ve seen the Defender 90 and 110, but the rumor mill has churned out word that the Defender range will be expanding to include at least a 130 model that rival the Mercedes G-550 – at least in terms of pricing, anyway. A lot of interest has been expressed in a Defender pickup truck and, we’re not going to lie, it would probably get a lot of attention. Land Rover has come right out and said it isn’t going to happen despite the fact that the old Defender was offered as a pickup in various global markets. The rendering you see here, though, we hope, will change Land Rover’s mind because it’s certainly something we would like to see.

Big Surprise –The Tesla Model Z Pickup is Delayed

Maybe in November? December? It’s Elon Musk, so who really knows?

As the battle of electric pickup trucks between Ford, Rivian, and Tesla rages on at an annoying slow crawl with nothing but teasers and overzealous gloating (I’m looking at you ford with your train-pulling stunt), Tesla’s Elon Musk as pushed the debut of the Tesla Model Z Pickup even further back. So when will we actually get to see it? Well, with Musk’s overly optimistic history, it’s anybody’s guess, but we at least have a rough idea.

The 10 Coolest Accessories Available For the 2020 Land Rover Defender

Land Rover has offered a lot of accessories for you to choose from for the new Defender

Land Rover finally revealed the new Defender at the 2019 Frankfurt Auto Show. The Defender was one of the most hardcore off-roaders before people started perceiving it as a premium SUV and not as a pure off-roader. It disappeared into oblivion in 2016 only to return three years later, reinvigorated. The new Defender is a lot more tough and back on track to being a true off-roader once again.

However, Land Rover has introduced it with all bells and whistles one can ask for and a lot of accessories to customize it as per you need. In fact, the accessories on offer have created a lot of buzz and they will be available right from the launch of the SUV. Just to be clear, there are 170 accessories and theme packs available for the Defender. We’ve chosen our pick and here are 10 accessories we found super cool and useful that you must consider if you plan on buying a Defender when it launches. Also note that we’re not going to mention the four default theme packs that Land Rover already has on offer.

A New Rendering Hints at What the Next-Gen BMW 4 Series Cabrio Could Look Like

A New Rendering Hints at What the Next-Gen BMW 4 Series Cabrio Could Look Like

I want to like it, but that twin kidney grille is infuriating

BMW is heavily involved at the 2019 Frankfurt Motor Show with several models making their debuts at the show. The German automaker also brought a concept model to the show, specifically the Concept 4. It’s been established that the Concept 4 isn’t an outlandish concept as much as it is an actual preview of the next-generation 4 Series, as well as future versions of the M3 and M4. Part of that future, at least as far as the next-gen 4 Series is concerned, is the BMW 4 Series Convertible.

We didn’t get to see a roofless version of the Concept 4 at the Frankfurt Motor Show, but thanks to car artist X-Tomi Design, we don’t have to imagine what that concept could look like if BMW actually made it. This is X-Tomi Design’s rendering of what could be the next-generation BMW 4 Series Convertible. In so many words, the rendering is equal parts intriguing and, well, cringe-worthy.

The BMW X6 Vantablack Is a Real Thing...If You Can See It

The BMW X6 Vantablack Is a Real Thing...If You Can See It

One of the wildest cars you’ll see in Frankfurt is ready for its close up

BMW officially debuted the 2020 BMW X6 two months ago, but its public debut will only take place at the 2019 Frankfurt Motor Show. As if on cue, photos of the 2020 X6 in Frankfurt have popped up, even if it’s nearly impossible to make out the SUV with the color it’s wearing. If you’ve ever seen the 2020 BMW X6 wearing the Vantablack VBx2 coating, you know how trippy it gets.

The Vantablack VBx2 coating is so black it’s hard to even describe it. But it’s not someone’s figment of the imagination anymore. The 2020 BMW X6 Vantablack is a real thing, and we’re going to see it in the flesh in Frankfurt for the very first time. Like most people, I don’t know what to expect out of it when it shows up. What I do know is I want to see it, as I’m sure most people want to, as well.
