Maserati officially unveiled its new Grecale earlier this week and it seems that the new SUV is already making quite an impression. And, according to Maserati, not only on earth! Its latest creation is a direct order from Mars. Or at least this is what the company claims in its press release. Of course, do not expect a Martian from Mars to have actually ordered this special edition, but, whoever did it, was actually very inspired.

What's special about the 2022 Maserati Grecale Fuoriserie "Mission from Mars" Edition?

The new "Mission from Mars" is the first special edition based on the new Grecale and was designed as part of the Fuoriserie Program. The most intrigued part of the new car is its exterior paint. Called "Galactic Orange", the new finish is a "special textured metallic paint inspired by mineral dust and metal erosion." It was applied on multiple layers, with the last layer applied being an intense, futuristic, and almost frosted orange-red resin.

The special edition also gets a unique set of Vortex Wheels wrapped in grey tires. And of course, the grey is also unique. It is made from a special blend dedicated to the planet Mars.

The final element of the exterior is the trident on the C-pillar that gets a glitching effect - a symbol of both the rhythm of the waves and information incoming from outer space.

The interior is pretty much identical to all the other Grecale models, and will include the same 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, 12.3-inch primary touchscreen system, 8.8-inch secondary lower display, and the rear passengers' screen.

But, since this was a model designed for Mars, it needs a few unique elements. So, the ceiling gets a very cool “star chart," while the seats are inspired by astronauts’ spacesuits and the latest trends in fashion.

The new 2022 Maserati Grecale Fuoriserie "Mission from Mars" Edition will be presented during an exclusive evening event in Milan, Italy. Of course, Maserati revealed no details on the price, but, a standard Grecale in the States is priced from $63,500.
