With extra power and a lowered body stance, the SUV is now faster than the Bentley Bentayga!

The Maserati Levante Trofeo has the genes of a Ferrari. That itself says a lot. And, until the Ferrari Purosangue arrives, this is the closest thing we have to a Ferrari SUV. The Levante Trofeo is an exotic SUV that looks stunning on the outside, reeks of luxury on the inside, and has the engine that makes it one of the fastest SUVs on sale today.

Now, imagine everything being raised by a notch. Aftermarket tuner Novitec has laid its hands on Maserati’s latest SUV, the Levante Trofeo and gave it a twist inside out. Called the Levante Esteso V2, it comes with over 600 horses and is now the world’s fastest SUV, beating the mighty Bentley Bentayga.

What Does It Look Like On The Outside?

On the outside, Novitec has given the Levante Trofeo a widebody kit that makes it look sportier. Up front, it receives bigger side air dams and a lot of sharper cuts and creases. The redesigned front looks noticeably more aggressive and suits the demeanor of the Levante Trofeo. The premium SUV now sits 25 mm closer to the ground which adds a lot of character to its reinvigorated aura.

New fender flares have made it a wider vehicle overall.

The Levante Esteso V2 now measures 82.2 inches in width, that’s made it 3.9 and 4.7 inches wider at the front and rear, respectively.

It also rides on new 22-inch wheels shod in 295/30 section low profile tires in the front and 335/25 tires in the back.

Step to the back and you’ll notice that Novitec has installed air vents and a spoiler lip. The mod job is clearly visible and doesn’t integrate into the body seamlessly. Nevertheless, it looks sporty and aggressive.

To sum it all up, the widebody kit includes eight pieces of new parts. Some of them, like the fender flares, hood scoop, and rear spoiler can be had in carbon fiber. Interestingly, Novitec worked on the Levante in 2017 as well and created a similar body kit. It was called the Levante Esteso V1.

The Tuner Has Breached The 600-Horsepower Mark

Novitec has made a few changes under the hood as well. The Maserati Levante Trofeo comes with a Ferrari-sourced 3.8-liter, twin-turbo V-8 engine that makes 580 ‘Prancing horses’ and 538 pound-feet of torque. Power is sent to all the wheels via ZF eight-speed automatic transmission. It can sprint to 62 mph from a standstill in 4.1 seconds and tops out at 186 mph.

With Novitec’s tweaks, the SUV now churns out 615 ponies and 605 pound-feet of torque.

That’s an increase of 35 horses and 67 pound-feet of torque. This propels the Levante Esteso V2 to 62 mph from a standstill in 3.8 seconds and pushes it all the way up to 192 mph before it loses its breath.

This makes it faster than the world’s current fastest production SUV, the Bentley Bentayga, which tops out at 190 mph.

Even The Other Levantes Receive A Power Boost

Other than this, Novitec has also worked on the Levante’s other variants and their engines. The 3.0-liter, V-6 mill makes 424 horses and 428 pound-feet of torque in stock form. Novitec has increased this by 63 horses and 59 pound-feet of torque, and now measures 487 ponies and 487 pound-feet of torque. The diesel mill now generates 322 horses and 502 pound-feet of torque, an increase of 47 horses and 59 pound-feet of torque over the stock power figures.

The tuner has also installed a plug-and-play module for the standard electronic Active Sound System of the exhaust system that offers further enhanced driving fun with the diesel models. When the ’Sport’ mode is selected in the cockpit, the control unit generates a more thrilling exhaust note for the V-6 turbodiesel.

Novitec has a lot of experience under its umbrella and has previously worked on Maseratis, Ferraris, Lamborghinis, McLarens, and so on. The tuner has not released the price of this package, but it isn’t going to be cheap. The standard Maserati Levante starts at $171,500. With this package, expect the price to breach the $200,000 figure easily. What are your thoughts on the Levante Esteso V2? Share them with us in the comments section below.
