Mazda is squeezing in as many MX-5 special editions as it possibly can before releasing the next generation of the small sports car, and today another one is getting added to the list. The latest special edition MX5 is called the Black Limited Edition and was inspired by this year’s highly successful MX-5 GT race car. It will be limited to only 500 units and, on the British market, will be priced from £22,995 - or about $37,500 at the current exchange rates.

The new special edition will be distinguished by three unique paint finishes - Spirited Green Metallic, Crystal White Pearlescent, and Velocity Red Mica - and a Brilliant Black powered retractable hard-top. These exterior colors will be contrasted by dark "gun metal" 17-inch alloy wheels.

On the interior, the MX5 will get black leather with contrasting "sand" color stitching, a Piano Black steering wheel and deco panel, and Limited Edition floor mats. Model recognition will come from unique ‘Black Limited Edition’ exterior badging and uniquely numbered interior plaques.

Aside from the distinguishing features, the Mazda MX5 Black Limited Edition will also get a slew of standard equipment, including climate control air-conditioning, a premium Bose audio system, an integrated hands-free Bluetooth system, cruise control, and front fog lights.

UPDATE 09/01/11: The Mazda MX-5 Sport Black Limited Edition is getting ready for orders and to commemorate the occasion, we’ve uploaded more photos of the special edition Miata in the photo gallery. I really love green cars! Even if it only had a simple platform and very ordinary detailing, I can say that it is still so striking and awesome on its body paint, and I also noticed that its interior is absolutely cool either.

I love the body paint that this MX-5 sports black. It is already looking great on that. I just hope that it is also had an impressive interior feature, and amenities even figure performance.

Cool inspired spirited green metallic color. Mazda MX-5 give a very refreshing look for their new model car. Very distinct exterior design merely in-front of it.

This car is good and it’s simple but i don’t know if the performance of this car is good or bad. And it’s look likes lighting MCQueen.

Well, it’s a good thing that they have offer a high speed performing vehicle for this car. For a roadster version this figure is quite an impressive production.

The car really look like a MClaren! The downside of limited edition was they don’t offer any special features but rather a minor updates.

I can say that it has a very cool design, especially if they feature the image of white
Pearlescent aside from that green one. I also like its retractable roof for it really show a sporty
look. We must stay tuned to know the performance of this car.

The exterior of the car look so aggressive. However, the styling of its interior is kind of disappointing! I don’t like the design of its center console though the leather seat seems to be comfortable. Well,I guess with its soft rooftop there will no increase in the weight of the car, but it would be better if they offer a engine upgrade.

haha. The front hood of the car looks like a McLaren car!I’m not really interested on special edition for the some car manufacturer offer a minor upgrade and there’s is nothing "special" about it!BTW, too bad that they haven’t offer a engine upgrade for the car which I believe is the most important package in a aftermarket version.
