The Novitec-McLaren tuning affair has had its fair share of episodes up to this point. In fact, the German tuner offers one of the most tasteful packages for McLaren’s line of products and although it worked on the Senna in the past, the house just released a new bundle of tweaks for the British supercar.

How much power does Novitec offer for the McLaren Senna?

A bone-stock McLaren Senna packs 789 horsepower (800 PS) and 590 pound-feet of torque, or 800 Newton-meters thanks to its 4.0-liter twin-turbo V-8. Novitec’s latest tuning scheme can up those numbers to 889 horsepower (902 PS) and 655 pound-feet of twist, or 888 Newton-meters. So the increase accounts for 100 horsepower (102 PS) and 65 pound-feet of torque, or 88 Newton-meters.

Does the Novitec Senna come with improved performance?

Yes it does. The newfound levels of grunt accounts for a 0-100 kph (62 mph) sprint time of 2.7 seconds (0.1 seconds quicker than the factory-spec Senna). What’s more, Novitec’s Senna clears the 0-200 kph (124 mph) interval in 6.5 seconds, which is 0.3 seconds quicker than a stock one. Top speed stays the same - 335 kph (208 mph).

These increases were possible through the use of Novitec’s N-Tronic plug-and-play module that resets the injection, ignition, and boost pressure control mapping. What’s more, the tuner chipped in with its Race GTR high-performance exhaust made from Inconel, a lightweight nickel-chrome alloy used in Formula 1 race car exhausts.

Are there any cosmetic changes, then?

Yes, but not too many. Novitec saw fit to leave the Senna’s aerodynamics untouched and that goes for the overall bodywork, too. The tuned did, however, get a helping hand from Vossen on developing a unique tire-wheel combination for the Senna, which not sits on 20-inch rollers in the front and 21-inch wheels in the rear. The MC3 wheels are of the center-lock ilk, forged, and available in 72 colors. They’re shod in Pirelli P-Zero rubber.

How about the interior?

The Senna’s interior was left untouched, but on demand, Novitec will imbue the cockpit with leather and Alcantara available in a wide range of colors.

Is there a price tag for all these changes?

Novitec didn’t mention how much it charges for this kind of treatment. Our guess is it’s not cheap, obviously. However, if those 500 lucky owners found a way to pay $1 million (est.) for the supercar without selling any of their organs, then the cost of Novitec’s magic should come as peanuts, really.
