The McLaren 765LT is getting all the deserved shine today, but that doesn’t mean we should sleep on the other model that the British automaker unveiled as part of its Geneva Motor Show offering.

The McLaren GT Verdant Theme by MSO isn’t an entirely new model as it is based on McLaren’s showstopping GT supercar. Where it stands out is the level of customization it received from MSO, McLaren’s in-house personalization department.

Certainly, MSO’s work on the GT speaks for itself. The supercar wears an exclusive paint finish unlike anything MSO has offered in the past. The exclusive touches continue in the interior, and the results are as mind-blowing as you’d imagine them to be.

We’re totally green with envy

Please excuse us for having to wipe the drool off our faces. The McLaren GT Verdant Theme by MSO caused it. McLaren’s in-house personalization unit decided to showcase its wares at the Geneva Motor Show, and while the show itself got canned, the result of MSO’s effort remained the same.

McLaren says that it took 430 hours to prepare the paintwork to its final appearance. Remarkably, MSO’s work on the exterior of the GT Verdant Theme doesn’t end there. Members of the MSO team also hand-painted Napier Green pinstripes on the body. You can see the front splitter and the brake calipers sporting this color. An MSO Black Pack — our favorite — was also added to the mix, darkening the wheels, exhaust tips, and the upper window surround.

Care for some cashmere with your supercar?

In a bid to stand out from the rest of the high-profile, automaker-backed, in-house personalization outfits, McLaren’s MSO unit pulled out all the stops in dressing up the interior of the GT Verdant Theme.

It’s the first time an automaker has used cashmere to this extent to dress up a car interior and the results are as you’d expect. The GT Verdant Theme’s cabin isn’t lacking in class and prestige. I can say that of the interior simply because of the presence of cashmere, but the story, as it goes, doesn’t end there. The rest of the interior’s surface area is covered by Dark Green, Laurel Green, and Jet Black leather. Add the Laurel Green piping and you have a cabin that speaks to MSO’s caliber.

No performance upgrades, but that doesn’t matter in this context

You would think that the McLaren GT Verdant Theme, as awesome as it looks, would also benefit from a bump in power and performance. That, however, isn’t the case here, and that’s ok. On its own, the GT comes equipped with a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V-8 engine that produces a whopping 620 horsepower and 465 pound-feet of torque. A seven-speed dual-clutch transmission sends all that power to the two rear wheels, enabling the supercar to sprint from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.1 seconds and 0 to 124 mph in nine seconds. Top speed is achieved when the GT hits 203 mph.
