The Novitec-McLaren tuning affair has had its fair share of episodes up to this point. In fact, the German tuner offers one of the most tasteful packages for McLaren’s line of products and although it worked on the Senna in the past, the house just released a new bundle of tweaks for the British supercar.
McLaren Special Operations Creates Special Paint with Family History
McLaren’s Special Operations (MSO) division is capable of creating some of the most visually arresting iterations of McLaren models you’ll ever see. Models like the 720 Velocity, 650S Project Kilo, and 720S Zenith Black are all good examples of MSO’s personalization skills. That level of creativity also helps the division create unique colors that have backstories of their own. Recently, MSO decided to tap into the roots Bruce McLaren to create a color that had ties to the life of the company’s founder. And so, the Muriwai White shade was born.
2017 McLaren 570GT by Novitec
The McLaren 570GT is about as unique as any McLaren that’s out on the market today. It’s classified under the company’s Sports Series, but really, it has the credentials of a supercar. It was prepared to be a performance daily driver in the vein of the Porsche 911, and yet it can flex its power in a heartbeat. The 570GT’s varied characteristics is a big part of its appeal, and for all it’s worth, it’s also a big reason why aftermarket tuners have taken a fancy to it. One of these tuners is Novitec and it’s got a dandy new program for the 570GT that helps improve its output numbers to reach levels that essentially puts it in the league of McLaren’s higher-echelon Super Series.
If you have ever followed Novitec’s work, you might remember the tuner has already worked on the McLaren 570S, introducing its program for that car back in December 2016. The blueprint of both kits is pretty similar in a such a way that the scope of Novitec’s modifications falls along the same sections. There are aerodynamic kits, a new set of wheels, suspension upgrades, and of course, engine tweaks that put the 570GT’s output in the vicinity of 650 horsepower, right smack where the 650S resides. It’s not the most encompassing program you’ll ever see, but for a car like the 570GT that can already shine on its own without any assistance, Novitec’s new program is simply all about making a good thing even better.

Prior Design And Misha Designs Show Us The Art To Building The Perfect Body Kit
The popularity of an aftermarket tuning program largely revolves around what kind of engine upgrades these tuning kits have. Like it or not, but a car’s engine is the biggest reason why these tuners exist. But as important as engine upgrades are, they’re not the be-all-end-all of a program. Some tuners like Prior Design and Misha Designs built their respective businesses on the shoulders of arguably the most overlooked aspect of an aftermarket program: the body kit.
If the engine upgrade program is considered the heart of every tuning kit, the visual manifestation of it is the body kit. That’s an important aspect that these two tuners recently displayed in full effect with their respective kits for the McLaren 570S and the Ferrari 488 GTB. Neither of the two programs come with engine enhancements even though both Prior Design and Misha Designs have experience in that field. But there is a rationale for taking the approach these two tuners did, especially for cars like the 570S and 488 GTB, both of which have no shortage of power in their own right. When some customers prefer to keep their supercars with its stock power figures, it’s the body kits that get their attention. And for what they’re worth, literally and figuratively, Prior Design and Misha Design’s respective kits for the McLaren 570S and 488 GTB are as good as customers are going to get from two tuners who know their way around these exotics. All we really need to do to be convinced of their capabilities is to look at the final products.
