2019 McLaren 720S APEX Collection
McLaren’s legacy as one of the most accomplished motor racing outfits in history is secure. Long before it became a purveyor of fine production exotics, McLaren was building a racing legacy that’s matched only by a few of its rivals. It’s fitting, then, that in celebrating that legacy, the U.K.-based automaker is launching a special edition series of 720S models called the MSO Apex Collection.
Only 15 units of the McLaren 720S MSO Apex Collection will be built. Each unit will pay homage to one of five different race tracks in Europe that’s near and dear to the success McLaren has enjoyed in the motor racing scene. The super-exclusive McLaren 720S MSO Apex Collection will be offered at a starting price of £288,813. That converts to around $356,200 based on current exchange rates. Deliveries are expected to begin this month. Unfortunately for us here in the U.S., the new special edition 720S will only be available in the European market.
2019 McLaren F1 #063 Restoration by MSO
When it comes to rare supercars, the McLaren F1 is right up there in the automotive world’s charts. McLaren built just 106 units of the F1 between 1993 and 1998, but not all of them were road legal. In fact, only 64 units were “standard” road cars, with 28 wearing the GTR badge which made them track-only, race-bred machines. There were also five prototypes, named XP1 to XP5, and two longtail versions, among other iterations. Now, let’s go back to 12 months ago when McLaren was announcing the introduction of its MSO McLaren F1 Heritage program. To mark the launch, McLaren showed off the F1 25R bathed in the notorious Gulf Racing livery. One year later, McLaren strikes again with a perfectly-restored F1, which happens to be chassis number 63.
All in all, McLaren needed 3,000 work hours to complete it, with the actual restoration process spanning over 18 months. Mind-boggling as that might sound, consider this: repainting the car with the original Magnesium Silver hue alone took 900 hours, so there’s that. Oh, and don’t even think of checking your bank accounts. The car has an owner who already received his restored gem, together with a unique certificate of authenticity, a bespoke book that illustrates the car’s history, and a 3D laser-scanned miniature McLaren F1 scale model. Yeah, we’re also jealous. And with that out of the way, let’s have a more in-depth look at chassis #63.
2019 McLaren 750LT
After only three years on the market, the first-generation McLaren Super Series, mostly known for its 650S core model, was replaced in 2017. The second-gen supercar now has the 720S at its core, but more versions are set to follow. Arguably the most anticipated variant is McLaren’s successor to the 675LT. This supercar has yet to be officially confirmed, but an unveiling is expected to happen in the first half of 2018, most likely at the Geneva Motor Show. We just created a rendering of the Super Series’ upcoming, range-topping model and put together a speculative review about what it may bring to the table.
If the 675LT is any indication, the recipe for the new LT model should be somewhat straightforward. McLaren will probably take the 720S and give it a more comprehensive aerodynamic package, as well as use a lot more carbon-fiber in order to make it lighter. The car will be further enhanced by a more powerful engine, and there’s a great chance the next LT will be quicker and more powerful than the McLaren P1 (if we ignore the latter’s electric motor that is!). 2019 McLaren 720S Spider by Novitec
The McLaren 720S Spider is a certified supercar. It has the design proportions of a McLaren and it features a potent V-8 engine that can lay the smackdown on any car that gets in its way. It’s hard to imagine a car that already has 710 horsepower on tap to gain more power to smoke them fools, but that’s why the aftermarket world exists in the first place. It’s a place where a tuner like Novitec can take a McLaren 720 S and tinker with it to the extent that it now comes with enough power to put most of its rivals in their proper places. This is the world of automotive tuning inhabited by Novitec. Just when you thought that it can’t get any better for your McLaren 720S, the German tuner finds a way to make it happen.
2020 McLaren 600LT Spider Pikes Peak Collection
The McLaren Denver car dealership has commissioned McLaren Special Operation to build not one, not two, not three, but six special edition McLaren 600LT Spiders to celebrate America’s most famous hill climb event, the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb. Each of the six special edition 600LT Spiders is dressed in an exclusive color to go with a smattering of interior embellishments. Special edition wheels are also part of the package, as is a commemorative plaque signifying each model’s inclusion in the “Pikes Peak Collection of 6.” The price tag for each of the six McLaren 600LT Spider Pikes Peak models that make up the collection have yet to be announced, but expect each one to cost significantly more than the 600LT Spider’s retail price of $256,000. Considering that we’re dealing with six ‘one-of-one’ versions here, a price closer to $300,000 for each of these models is realistic.
2019 McLaren 600LT by Novitec
With all the attention directed towards the McLaren 720S, it’s easy to forget that Woking’s lineup of exotics also includes the positively spicy McLaren 600LT. It wasn’t that long ago — just last year, in fact — when the 600LT was the darling of McLaren’s lineup. It’s taken a back seat to the 720S since then, but that hasn’t stopped a tuner like Novitec from giving the 600LT the attention it deserves. The German tuner known for its bonkers programs for anything exotic turned to the 600LT and gave it more power. It also added aerodynamic bits to the British supercar, enhancing the 600LT’s performance capabilities to such extent that it can give its big brother a run for its money. The whole kit doesn’t come cheap — nothing Novitec does counts as cheap — but if you’re willing to spend to give your McLaren 600LT an upgrade fit for its status, this new aftermarket program from Novitec is just what the doctor ordered.
2021 McLaren Hybrid Sports Car
McLaren is set to launch a new hybrid sports car in 2020. Shown here in a batch of spy shots, this vehicle will be the first electrified model that won’t be part of the ultimate series. So far, McLaren has launched two hybrid supercars: the P1, built between 2013 and 2015, and the Speedtail, produced in 2019. This new hybrid sports car could be part of either the Super Series or the Sports Series.
Since the prototype is based on the 720S, it’s easy to assume that the production model will replace the current Super Series. On the other hand, the 720S is only marginally bigger than the 570S, which is part of the Sports Series. McLaren CEO Mike Flewitt also said that the company’s first hybrid sports car will be the replacement for the Sports Series lineup, so this is a scenario we need to consider as well. To keep things a bit simpler, I’m going to go with Flewitt’s statement and treat this hybrid prototype as a replacement for the 570S.
2020 McLaren GT
The McLaren GT is the company’s first stand-alone grand touring sports car. A spiritual successor to the 570GT, which is based on the 570S, the GT is essentially a two-door sports car with enhanced luggage room. But it’s also grand tourer with a mid-engined layout, a significant departure from the traditional design with the engine in the front. McLaren describes the GT as the most practical mid-engined vehicle on the market.
The fourth new model in the McLaren Track25 business plan, the GT draws inspiration from other McLaren models design-wise, but it features a more straightforward, more luxurious interior created with grand touring customers in mind. Under the hood, it shares the 4.0-liter V-8 engine with the 720S, but output and performance are bit lower. But it’s the rear-mounted trunk that sets the GT apart by adding almost 15 cubic feet of luggage room atop the V-8 engine. Let’s find out more about that in the review below.
2019 McLaren Senna by Hennessey
The McLaren Senna is the company’s latest track-ready supercar. A successor to theP1, the Senna dropped the hybrid drivetrain for pure V-8 power and adopted a more aerodynamic design. The Senna is essentially a race car for the road, but it also spawned a track-only GTR version. Come 2019, and Hennessey Performance launched a couple of upgrades for the supercar.
Yes, it’s hard to believe that the Senna can be further tweaked, but the folks over at Hennessey are known for their capability to push just about any car to the limit. If you think that the Senna’s 789-horsepower rating is impressive, you need to know that the British supercar can generate much more than that. Let’s find out more about that in the review below.
2020 McLaren Senna GTR
The McLaren Senna GTR is the track-only variant of the radical Senna supercar. Named after famed F1 driver Ayrton Senna, the supercar also pays tribute to the iconic F1 GTR in race-spec trim. Previewed by the Senna GTR Concept at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show, the track-bound supercar broke cover in production form only 12 months later.
A no-compromise machine that ditches the limitations of a road-legal car, the Senna GTR is described as a vehicle that’s "able to lap circuits faster than any McLaren outside Formula 1." It takes the already light, powerful, and track-focused Senna to new heights with extra power, a lighter curb weight, incredible aerodynamic downforce, and knowledge from McLaren’s GT3 racing program. As usual, it’s highly exclusive, and the few cars that will leave the production line are already sold out. Let’s find out more about it below.
2019 McLaren 720S Spider
Introduced in December 2018, right between the auto shows in Los Angeles and Detroit, the 720S Spider replaces the 650S Spider in the lineup and enables McLaren to compete with the 488 Spider and Huracan Spyder. It’s the third member of the family, joining the coupe and the race-spec 720S GT3. The 720S Spider shares all exterior and interior features, as well as the drivetrain centered around the 4.0-liter V-8 engine, with the coupe model. Although it’s 108 pounds heavier than the coupe, the 720S Spider remains the lightest in its class with a dry weight of 2,937 pounds.

2019 McLaren 720S Spider by MSO
The McLaren 720S Spider is the roofless version of one of the most revered models in McLaren’s Super Series. McLaren’s Special Operations division (MSO) brought a one-off 720S Spider to the Geneva Motor Show to show off the kind of modifications possible with a run-of-the-mill 720S Spider. The result is a tri-color beast with tons of exposed carbon fiber.
Are we getting to the point when personalization has gone too far? Henry Ford used to say that you could have any color on your Ford Model T as long as the color was black. Now, every luxury manufacturer brags about its "nearly infinite" choices, and depending on how deep are your pockets, each is willing to open before you a whole world of options. The MSO division offers multiple worlds, one for each of McLaren’s models, and the 720S Spider has just joined this exclusive group at the Geneva Motor Show.
2019 McLaren 600LT Spider by MSO
This is the stunning McLaren 600LT Spider by MSO. It is an even better sorted out 600LT, which is a hard thing to achieve considering that McLaren hit a home run with it. Nevertheless, McLaren is really big on personalization. It does have a special division dedicated to it, and it is called McLaren Special Operations. The magicians that work there are responsible for some of the best McLaren cars of the past few years. Obviously, people buying McLarens have enough dough to throw at their cars, and it is estimated that almost every McLaren sold has some MSO blood in it. Yet, the new one goes a bit further compared to any 600LT Spider we’ve ever seen. And, I’m not talking in terms of performance, either. After all, I told you eight amazing things about the 600LT some time ago. There, you could learn all astounding performance facts about it.
2018 McLaren 570GT Cabbeen Collection
McLaren Special Operations has revealed the sixth and final Cabbeen Collection McLaren 570GT during the annual Lunar New Year celebration held in Beverly Hills. The Cabbeen-commissioned 570GT debuted at last year’s Beijing Auto Show in April, and only five other examples exist. This special McLaren features the same hand-painted dragon outside and embroidered dragon inside that’s seen on the other five Cabbeen models built by MSO. This model has a unique VIN number, and you can actually buy it through McLaren of Beverly Hills
2019 McLaren 600LT Spider
The McLaren 600LT Spider is one of the few drop-top sports cars with barely any compromises over the coupe. It’s just 110 pounds heavier than the fixed-head version but, besides that, it offers the same 592 horsepower and 457 pound-feet of torque from the 3.8-liter twin-turbocharged V-8 engine. The catch? It costs almost $50,000 more than the 570S Spider that McLaren used as a starting point for the LT.
After teasing us with a video just a few days ago, McLaren finally released the official images of the mighty 600LT Spider. Again, LT stands for ’Long-Tail,’ but there is no long tail on this car to speak of, it’s merely as a pale homage to the Le Mans class-winning McLaren F1 GTR from 22 years ago. What you do get, though, is a highly competent track beast with the added benefit of being able to allow the elements to take their toll on you when the roof’s down.
If you like what you’re hearing you should rush to pre-order one because McLaren said that the production would be limited with "build slots scheduled around other Sports and Super Series models." Production is said to commence in March and will go on for a year. The only problem with the 600LT Spider is, frankly, the existence of the Ferrari 488 Pista Spider with its 710 horsepower, 568 pound-feet of torque that’s likely quicker although it also costs a lot more as well.
2019 McLaren 720S Spa 68 Special Edition
Honoring the first F1 win during the 1968 Belgian Grand Prix at Spa-Francorchamps, exactly 50 years ago, McLaren’s special division, MSO, revealed a Special Edition McLaren 720 S Spa 68. Commissioned by McLaren Brussels, the latest special edition 720S joins numerous other SE models. I am quite sure that McLaren makes a whole lot of money on its SE cars. I can’t even imagine how expensive some of them will be in 20 or 30 years time. Nevertheless, crafting yet another Special Edition McLaren 720S, MSO division tried to tie the new 720S with the old orange McLaren M7A racer Bruce McLaren drove back then to claim the first F1 win for the McLaren.
The car you can see in the photos is a part of the 720 S Spa 68 Collection. Three cars will be built - all for McLaren Brussels.
2019 McLaren P1 GTR by McLaren Special Operations
A brand-new McLaren P1 GTR has been unveiled and, suitably, it wears the Marlboro livery that once covered the glorious McLaren-Honda MP4/4 that carried Senna to his first world champion crown 30 years ago during arguably the most dominant season ever for Team McLaren.
This new P1 GTR is the result of three years of intense work by McLaren Special Operations (MSO) who’ve worked in close partnership with the customer that requested this one-off machine. It features a more aggressive aero package than the standard P1 GTR, more power thanks to some tweaks to the engine, as well as a bespoke interior with seats borrowed from the McLaren Senna.
2019 McLaren Special Operations 720S Stealth Theme
The McLaren 720S Stealth Theme is a shadowy tribute to the only McLaren that has ever conquered the Le Mans 24 Hours race, the F1 GTR. It is built by McLaren Special Operations on request from the McLaren dealer in London and, underneath the skin, it hides all the goodies of a 720S Performance.
Launched only last year, the 720S came as the replacement of the popular 650S model. It features heavily revised aerodynamics, a luscious body sculpted with speed in mind, and a brand-new, twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V-8 engine that is 41-percent new compared to the old 3.8-liter unit.
The 720S Stealth Theme commemorates McLaren’s overall victory at Le Mans 23 years ago when a GT1-spec F1 GTR blitzed the whole of the prototype field to win the race, a genuine first for a production-based car as Porsche’s previous victory with a GT car, in 1979, was achieved with a silhouette-style 935 that only shared the roof and the windows with the street-legal 911.
2019 McLaren Speedtail
The McLaren Speedtail is the latest iteration of the Ultimate Series. Although it follows the Senna, it actually replaced the P1, the spiritual successor of the F1. But unlike the P1, the Speedtail features a three-seat layout with a center-mounted drivers seat, just like the F1. Powered by a hybrid drivetrain, it’s the fastest, most powerful, and most aerodynamic McLaren built to date!
Dubbed a Hyper-GT and previously referred to as the BP23, the Speedtail is somewhat of a new concept from McLaren. While it has the output of a hypercar, it looks more like a super-streamline vehicle than a race-inspired supercar and sports a luxurious interior packed with innovative materials. Arguably the coolest thing about it is the central driving seat, a feature borrowed from the iconic F1. It’s the ultimate McLaren road car!

2018 McLaren F1 GTR ‘25R’ Restoration
McLaren Special Operations may be known for building exclusive one-off creations, but it’s now expanding its workload with the launch of a new certification program for the British automaker’s most iconic model, the F1. Part of the new program’s objectives is to authenticate the history and specification of a specific McLaren F1. Coinciding with the launch of the program is the first McLaren F1 to get fully certified: the 1997 F1 GTR Longtail “25R.”
2019 McLaren Senna
A successful race car builder from the 1960s to the 1980s, McLaren began making a name for itself as a road car manufacturer in the early 1990s with the F1. Launched with many benchmarks, including the first carbon-fiber construction, the F1 became one of the most iconic supercars ever made. It was so great that it took McLaren 15 years to gives us a predecessor, the P1, introduced at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show. Four years have passed, and the McLaren Ultimate Series is entering a new era with a brand-new supercar. Codenamed the P15 and in the rumor mill for a couple of years now, the McLaren Senna was unveiled on December 9, 2017, as the company’s ultimate road-legal race car.
A unique design that brings together styling cues from the P1, 720S, and new aerodynamic features, the Senna bears the name of F1 driver Ayrton Senna, who drove McLaren Formula One cars for six years, from 1988 to 1993.
While the Senna’s aggressive design and aerodynamics aren’t surprising, the fact that it’s not a hybrid comes as a bit of shock. With its predecessor sporting an electric motor, the new Ultimate Series was expected to have a similar layout. The same goes for the interior, which has a standard left-hand-drive configuration, despite prototypes that have a mid-mounted driver’s seat, like the old F1. But this doesn’t make the Senna a less spectacular supercar. On the contrary!
