The next time any one of us gets in an accident that warrants a visit from an emergency vehicle, we may need to get our pulse checked even further if Mercedes’ new design study ever sees the production line. The new SLS AMG Emergency Vehicle will be rushing to the rescue starting May 11th-May 13th at the 2011 RETTmobil - the largest European trade fair for rescue and mobility.

We don’t know much about the design study, but the images released by Mercedes show a silver SLS AMG with the German word for emergency (Notarzt) stretched across the side. The traditional red and blue highlights come in the form of blue light beams and red exterior accent paint. The interior will undoubtedly be filled with your usual emergency equipment, although we doubt they will be able to stow a stretcher in the back.

In terms of power, we are guessing that it will remain the same for the SLS AMG Emergency Vehicle because the 6.3-liter V8 engine developing 571 hp and up to 479 lb-ft of torque found in the standard model is still much more than your average emergency vehicle. That is, unless you are counting the Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4 Polizia revealed back in 2009.

Well, who knows? If Mercedes does decide to develop a rescue and medical services oriented vehicle, then this one would definitely be a good start.

Yeah, this one is definitely going to get the fancy of rescue crews alright. But I doubt if anyone would actually use it for practical purposes, considering how expensive an SLS AMG is.

Well, let’s see if this one does get the fancy of any rescue crew out there. But if I do get into any mishap, I would be glad if I get to ride in this one.

I just wonder if this car was based from the Medical car that was debuted for the Bahrain Formula One race and tag along with safety car? Well, the power output of this car I think is far better than Medical car.
