Mercedes-AMG made a revolution with the introduction of the 4.0-liter, turbocharged, V-8. This engine, with its many states of tune, made it in so many cars within the Mercedes-Benz and Mercedes-AMG lineup that I almost lost count. The most dramatic discrepancy for its use, at least for me, is with the Mercedes-Benz G500 4x4 and the Mercedes-AMG GT R. These two are opposites but they both feature the same engine.

However, Mercedes-AMG did a favor to the world with this V-8. It ended up in the Mercedes C-Class as well. Its most potent form at that. The tuners flew over the AMG C63 S as vultures seizing the opportunity to create a supercar out of a four-door drift happy saloon. This is the latest in the line of awesome works on the Mercedes-AMG C63 S. It comes from G-Power, a company who made a fortune tuning BMWs. Now, it’s AMGs turn.

Power Of The Gods For The AMG C63 S

Adding the so-called Performance Software V1 and reprogramming the ECU unleashed the hidden potential of the AMG engine. With only a few keystrokes and smart lines of code, G-Power was able to deliver almost 90 horsepower more from the C63 S. Now with 592 horsepower; we can almost call this one a supercar. After all, that is exactly the power output of the new McLaren 600LT, and that one is a proper supercar. Not that I am trying to compare them, but this is a lot of power.

This is not all, though.

G-Power offered another upgrade level. This one includes additional turbocharger trickery. G-Power won’t replace the AMG installed unit, but they will try to make it spool up a bit quicker. Adding to this a special exhaust and proper software upgrades will infuse new life into the 4.0-liter, V-8. The most furious update G-Power can give to the Mercedes-AMG C63 S will up the power of its engine by almost 300 horsepower. In its most extreme form, with 789 horsepower, the G-Power Merc is as powerful as the Ferrari 812 Superfast!

Not That Many Changes Really

It seems that G-Power focused on giving the C63 S as much power as possible without actually ruining what made it special in the first place - its decently decorated exterior and precisely sculpted AMG kit. It remained the same as ever. The only notable change can be achieved by the addition of new wheels. G-Power offers Hurricane RR forged pieces measuring 20-inches in diameter. That’s it. Nothing more for the Mercedes-AMG C63 S will you see before you. Actually, there is something else - an unrestricted top speed. Now, the executive saloon can drive its executive to amazing speeds of up to 186 mph. Probably a bit more, but don’t tell anyone I told you.

Unfortunately, G-Power did not disclose info about the performance of the other version - the one with the 789 horsepower engine. Nevertheless, even the stock AMG C63 S can cut 62 mph in 3.8 seconds. Who knows what the Germans managed to achieve with 100 or 300 more horsepower.
