Brabus builds are quite expensive at the onset, but there’s no denying that they’re fun. This time around, the aftermarket company has laid its hands on the Mercedes-AMG A45 S. The Brabus build of this hatch is more than just a remap. The car comes with part upgrades under the hood, new wheels and tires, an upgraded suspension system, and a few changes inside the cabin.

What’s Different On The Outside?

The car isn’t drastically modified on the outside, but the changes are notable. The Mercedes logo is swapped with a Brabus ‘B’. It rides on super-hot Brabus-special 20-inch, 10-spoke Monoblock Z wheels with red brake calipers. They are wrapped in 255/40 section Continental rubber all around.

Anything New On The Inside?

Brabus, in most of its products, lets customers customize the cabin as per their taste, and the B45 follows the same template. You can ask for virtually any color and design for the upholstery that floats your boat. Apart from this, you can add stuff like stainless-steel scuff plates with the Brabus logo, 64-light ambient lighting, aluminum pedals, floor mats with the Brabus logo, and so on.

How Much Power Does The Brabus B45 Make?

Mercedes has plonked a 2.0-liter, four-cylinder engine under the A45 S’ hood with 416 horses and 369 pound-feet of torque on tap. Power is sent to all the wheels via the AMG Speedshift eight-speed automatic transmission. Brabus has upped the ante by mapping the A45 S’ electronic engine management system, and including the Brabus PowerXtra CPC auxiliary control unit and the Brabus BoostXtra adapter.

The result of this conversion is 444 ponies and 406 pound-feet of twist, which is 28 horses and 37 pound-feet of torque more than the stock AMG A45 S. Thanks to this, the hatch is even faster, taking just 3.7 seconds to 60 mph from rest, making it 0.2 seconds faster than the standard A45 S. The top speed remains the same: 168 mph.

Final Thoughts

Brabus has not revealed the price of the B45 build, but expect it to be quite steep. While it isn’t available Stateside, in the U.K., the AMG 45 S costs about £49,095, which is roughly around $67,500 as per current exchange rates. This Brabus build could push the price of the B45 even closer to the six-digit figure. The car comes with a three-year/62,000-mile warranty from Brabus.
