At the 2020 Geneva Motor Show, Brabus announced the 800 Adventure XLP - a very cool truck based on the Mercedes-AMG G63. We loved the work the tuner has done with the project, but we were shocked when we heard the price: €575,630 (or about $631,055 when it was launched).
Now, Brabus came up with a solution to make the Adventure XLP even more expensive. By about €150,000, to be more specific, for a car that this time is not even new - it comes with a mileage of 1,000 km (621 miles). The new package is called Brabus 800 Adventure XLP Superblack and, as the name suggesst, it is about giving the original car a darker, meaner look.

What changes were made to the exterior?
Transforming a SUV into a truck is not an easy job. First, the wheelbase needed to be extended by 19.7 inches, and the total length is now 209 inches - about 27.1 inches more than the standard G63. Then, the ground clearance had to be raised, so that the 800 XLP Superblack sits 19.2 inches above the ground - almost 10 inches higher than the standard G63 (9.5 inches). This move was required so that the truck can both accommodate, but also look good with the new 22 inch black BRABUS Monoblock HD wheels wrapped in Pirelli Scorpion ATR all-terrain tires of size 325/55.
As for its looks, the G63 AMG is already a very imposing vehicle, so Brabus tried to keep its design as intact as possible, so when looked from the front it still gives you the impressive of looking at a G-Class.
Brabus is offering a Widestar bodykit with carbon fiber elements, including grille, bumpers, vented hood, wider fenders - that add a total of 4.6 inches to the width of the car - and side steps. The rear gets stylized exposed-carbon skid plate, while the exhaust system's end pipes are now placed on the side.
The biggest change of course it's the cargo bed. It was built on a newly designed steel module with bedsides made of carbon fiber. It comes with a full-size spare wheel mounted on the rear and a roof rack with extra LED lights. It can also be upgraded with a roof tent. And, as it name suggest all the elements of the car were painted black.
How about the interior?
Just like with the exterior, for the interior Brabus opted for a black look - a tribute to the year 1977 when Bodo Buschmann founded the Brabus brand. The interior is wrapped in the finest black leather combined with carbon fiber elements and the headliner is made from black Alcantara. The center section of the seats and few other elements are feature seashell diamond quilting and the "77" logo - as a tribute to the year when the company was founded.
The steering wheel, dashboard, center console and door panels feature elements made out of carbon fiber, while the pedals, door lock pins and the paddle shifters on the steering wheel are made in aluminum.
What changes does it offer under the hood?
Just like the first 800 Adventure XLP, the new Superblack is offered with the same 4.0-liter, V-8 engine equipped with two larger turbochargers from Brabus. After this changes, the engine delivers a total of 800 horsepower and 737 pound-feet of torque. The sprint from 0 to 60 mph is made in 4.8 seconds and top speed is electronically limited to 130 mph.
The car is also equipped with a specially designed titanium-plated, height-adjustable Brabus Ride Control coilover suspension. Its setup can be selected in the cockpit via the DYNAMIC SELECT suspension adjustment. There are different setups to choose from, including the engine, transmission, steering and the assistance systems.
How much does it cost?
This specific unit is priced at €725,900 (or about $825,000 at the current exchange rates), but it comes with a mileage of 1,000 km (621 miles). However, Brabus is also offering you the possibility to create your own XLP, but it will take anywhere in between 6 to 12 months to complete.
