We thought the AMG GT 63S E-Performance couldn't be upgraded any further, but Mercedes just proved us wrong - at least when it comes to aesthetics. This year AMG celebrates its 55th anniversary and we’ve already seen a lot of special models designed especially for the event. After several AMG 55 editions – including the ones based on the A35, CLA 45 and G63, Mercedes announced the AMG GT 63S E-Performance equipped with the "F1 Edition" package. The model is now available for order and in Europe, the price of the F1 Edition package is €23,800 (roughly $25,000 at the current exchange rates).

This is What a $25,000 Appearance Package Looks Like

First things first: there are no changes made under the hood, but we really don’t think that’s really a problem. The luxury sedan is powered by a hybrid system that combines a 4.0-liter, twin-turbo V-8 engine that delivers 630 horsepower and 664 pound-feet with an electric motor that adds another 201 horses and 236 pound-feet of torque. The final output is a combined 831 horsepower and 1,033 pound-feet of torque! The sprint from 0 to 62 mph is made in 2.9 seconds and from 0 to 124 mph in under 10 seconds, while top speed goes up to 196 mph.

The first thing you will notice about the GT 63 S E Performance F1 Edition is of course its paintwork. It features a non-metallic Manufaktur alpine gray, combined with a special AMG logo foiling with a color gradient going from grey to black and a red stripe running the entire length of the bottom of the car.

There are also special 21-inch AMG forged wheels in a 5-twin-spoke design with a black matte finish and red rim flange - a color scheme similar to the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S 4MATIC+ F1 Medical Car. The model will also be equipped with an AMG Aerodynamics package that offers technology borrowed from Formula 1. It will include a fixed rear aerofoil in high-gloss black, an optimized diffuser integrated into the rear apron, and an optimized front apron with a larger front splitter.

Just like with all the other anniversary models, the F1 edition will be offered with the AMG Night Package Exterior and the AMG Night Package II which will add a series of elements finished in high-gloss black. The list will include front splitter and trim elements in the front wings, exterior mirror housings, side edge trim, and window surround. The same black color will be used for the darkened AMG-specific radiator grille and model badges on the boot lid and wings.

The interior will be characterized by the same black and red color scheme. The AMG Performance seats are upholstered in Exclusive Nappa black leather upholstery with red decorative stitching, while the seat belts and several AMG carbon-fiber trim elements will be finished in red. Special badges placed on the interior and the floor mats will remind you this is no ordinary 63 S E Performance.

With the car, all customers will also receive a customized AMG Indoor Car Cover with theF1 logo.
